I normally just download/make use of portable version, which you literally just extract to where you want to run it from, and then you don't even need to uninstall it as such - just delete the folder later on. This is also the version that will generally run quite happily off of a flash drive

Yes, JAWS will still be your default screen reader when you turn on your computer. To switchc from JAWS to NVDA, just unload JAWS with Insert-F4 and launch NVDA using a hot key like Alt-Control-N. Of course you can create a desktop icon for NVDA so that you can go into its Properties dialog

Installing NVDA is pretty straightforward. Once NVDA has been downloaded and saved, the set-up and installation are self-voicing, which means that you can unload JAWS. Before you do anything, I suggest listening to a very good audio tutorial on installing and using NVDA that is a few years
