It is a separate software so you invoke whichever one you want.
For instance, I have Jaws 11 and Jaws 12 and system access and magic and
zoomtext all on my computer as I teach beginning users of different types of
software to fit their desires.
Just choose the one you want to use and open that
Hi Yvonne;

I normally just download/make use of portable version, which you literally
just extract to where you want to run it from, and then you don't even need
to uninstall it as such - just delete the folder later on.
This is also the version that will generally run quite happily off of a
flash drive
I have jaws set to start automatically, but if I kill it and then start
NVDA, next time I restart computer, jaws just starts again.

Hello,
I am searching for a winamp or general media player software that supports
automatic searching, editing and saving the lyrics of a song directly into
the music file. It's better if it works with jaws.
Can you suggest something?

Yes, JAWS will still be your default screen reader when you turn on your
computer. To switchc from JAWS to NVDA, just unload JAWS with Insert-F4 and
launch NVDA using a hot key like Alt-Control-N. Of course you can create a
desktop icon for NVDA so that you can go into its Properties dialog
No you don't ever need to do that
just open the program you wish to speak to you like jaws and then when you
desire the other provided you have a hot key for it
shut jaws down and use the hot key for your other speech to start.
For instance I use jaws 11 to help others with this same so I open
to all who have replied to my request for n v d a
the more i read in to this the more i am tempted to installing it and trying
it out
but what about installation is there a straight install for example self
extracting exe files or do i have to get it installed another way
once this is answered
The portable version just extracts to a folder that you can then copy
wherever, while the install will send it to program files, but I generally
prefer the portable one.

Installing NVDA is pretty straightforward. Once NVDA has been downloaded
and saved, the set-up and installation are self-voicing, which means that
you can unload JAWS. Before you do anything, I suggest listening to a very
good audio tutorial on installing and using NVDA that is a few years
Oh, yes, and not too relevant to all, but another reason I use NVDA for some
things is it's built in/easy to make use of support for some other
languages, since while I can tell jaws to create other speech profiles,
making use of some of the eSpeak voices, for example, it just doesn't seem

Take some time to listen to this:

By the way, it took me about 30 seconds to gather this information using
Ivonne. If you have this many incredibly basic questions maybe its best you
not install this software. At the very least ask for the NVDA list
subscription information and join it.
