Hi folks,
I am unsubscribing from this list because I am contemplating a move back to
Colorado from Oklahoma.
I will have a different email then and, in the meantime, I will, most
likely, not have a computer anyway.
This is a really great list and I have learned an enormous amount from it.

Hi All,
I have a 1995 Maytag dish washer that is not cleaning. During the last rinse
cycle small particles of food are left coating all of the dishes, glasses
etc. I did run some white vinegar and it really did not help. I called
Maytag and I was instructed how to remove and clean the filter.
hi lenny
they make a dish washer cleanner you put in the silverware basket.
it is a bottle with some wax on the top, you put in there upside down
and the heat of the water melts the wax and lets the stuff out.
i am not sure if it is better than the vinigar but its worth a try.
it only costs about
This sounds like a fairy tail, but get some sugarless lemon kool-aide and
pour a couple packages in the bottom of the washer and run the machine
through its cycle.

Jet Dry
It is a liquid drying additive that you should have a dispenser
for in the door of the dishwasher. It I think changes the
surface tension of the water and does not allow the little
particles to stick. We use it and it works like a charm.

Lenny, make sure the water pump is emptying it after cycles. It just
might be refilling with water and running out the over flow.

You could try using a liquid detergent rather than powder - it doesn't clog

Is the cleanout you mentioned on the kitchen accessible from outside the house.
That should be considered a ground level cleanout unless the kitchen is on the
second floor. Has a snake been put down this cleanout? Approximately what
size, diameter is this clean out plug? If you have been
Seems I remember a plumber with a camera gizmo that ran into the sewer line and

Did you try a roter snake? That could be the answer to the problem, instead of
all the digging. The municipality might be able to give you a location where
the pipe is. Or if you have a waste stack, you might want to put a hole in it
and enter a snake from it. Than place a 3 inch saddle on the

What is a waste stack?
The waste management guy was no help about the location of the line. his exact

Waste vent is the pipe that runs out the roof of your house, usually 3-4
inches in diameter. All the other drain lines should come to this main
stack.
Fill the hole with a few inches of water and let it soak in over night, or
for a day or so, the soil will be easier to dig out, or probe in.

We do have some trees out in the back half of the yard going towards the

It is the main pipe that the other waste lines run into and out to the
municipality main. In the older houses, they in my area would run from the
basement and at times even to and through the roof as a vent.

The advice my techs give home owners is to rinse dishes before stacking them

good idea to let the water run at the sink until it gets hot and then start

Try the clean-out at the side of the house. It will be closer to the line out
to the lane and that is it's purpose. Your snake though may not be long enough.
I am wondering though if the laundry is on the main floor or in a basement? If
in a basement then the sewer is probably much deeper than
