The person who wrote this article claimed that crickets can eat through

While framing out the deck and landings, I kept wishing for a jig that I
could slide over the rim joist. It would have a 1.5 inch wide slot on one
side that would go over the perpendicular joist, and a quarter or half inch
slot on the rim joist side that would be exactly in the middle. You

Yeah this is true, however, if you lived here in Texas where I do and at night

Yeah and the neat thing about tide is that it won't hurt you. One year we had
them so bad that I went around on the inside of the house and put tide all
around all the base boards in the house. Besides helping with the crickets, it
made the house smell good.

I do know that crickets make good bate for trout and bass fishing. The
logical thing to do is to set a trap for the critter and then one would have
the choice of catching a lunker with it, or taking it to the great out of
doors, where it can fend for itself.

Hey, Dan, I need one of those! Sounds like a marketable tool to me,
especially if you could keep the cost under, say, $20.
An improvement for the next prototype could also be a detachable, adjustable
arm with a similar 1-5/8 in. socket on one end that could be used for, say,
framing walls
I had the same idea of adding an arm to the jig so you could easily index
the spacing of joists. I'll have to tinker with designs for making that
cheaply, easily, and without making the over-all jig cumbersome.
I don't really know if it would be marketable to the sighted population
though.
Why not use rechargeable batteries n the beepers?

Joe,
If this is going to be a temporary solution, why not run a single line

It will even work when the batteries are dead or the power is off.

Well, guys. try this on for an idea. Sighted ppl have motion lights to guide

Hmnnn, that's an interesting possibility. The yard is situated so that I

I think it would be especially nice if instead of an electronic beeper buzzing
sound they put off some noise from nature. Perhaps a bird call or a frog. A
rattler might be entertaining, but perhaps not very practical. :)
