I just came aboard to the list and I also have one of those meters and many
times the unit does not talk when I press the button on the handpiece. Does
anyone else have that problem?

talking multimeter
It's possible, but you'd have to check with Jones to be sure. I like the
button on the unit as well. If I'm testing live current I use an alligator clip
and stay away from the probe end.

I don't have that problem myself. Make sure both plugs are seated firmly and
the probe with the button needs to be on the left hand side when laying on its
back with the plugs at the top.

Dale,
I sent mine in and received another one, or they fixed it. Sometimes it reads
far out numbers and I have to let it turn off and start over. It's 95 percent
workable.

This procedure seems to work for me. Purchase a turkey baster with that rubber
squeeze ball on top. Get a glue bottle top that is round. The glue bottle top
will slide on to the baster. Cut off the bottle tip according to how far you
want it to slip on to the baster. Make this fit tight,
This is what I did for my tape measure. It works great, now.

Since I have used a water to air heat pump since 1979, I was curious about your
setup. You mentioned 6 gallons per minute. How large of unit do you have and
how many square feet are you cooling? How many gallons per ton or BTU's? How
old is your heat pump?

My tape measure was doing the same thing and I sent it back and there was no

How many inches of dirt do you have to add? If you are adding several inches,
such as 6 or more, I would not place down the plastic and rock until the dirt
has settled for a few weeks. Then, re-level, making it slope away from the
house and add the plastic and rock. If you don't, you will

I have used a water to air heat pump since 1979 and its been very efficient.
Air to air heat pumps are not as efficient as they use electric heating
outside if the air drops below a certain temperature. I have had a strange

I have one of those talking tape measurers that has gone crazy. When I pull
out the tape a few inches, it says 2,083 inches. I have changed the battery
but it's the same. What is wrong? I purchased it from NFB.
