Hi Charlie, One thing I would recommend to lessen the mess is to buy a set of latex gloves, the thin kind they use in hospitals. If you're allergic to latex, you can get them in sheep skin or acrylic material. They are thin enough that you can use your fingers, and if you want to use the

Charlie, no matter what type of caluk you choose to use be sure to get that surface clean prior to using the caulk . use an old tooth brush and any kind of wet rag. to go around that area. I am thinking you willhave your windows and doors in fine shape before the winter rolls around.
