I just posted links for this and the screen for someone else on the Brewtus
group about three or four weeks ago I think--search back a bit. I'd recommend
changing it at least yearly, and I'd do the screen every six months in terms of
cleanliness. It's called a group gasket for E61 group, and

Could your heating element be dying, i.e. not able to keep up? That seems like
way too much drop to me.

Hi there Todd (cc:ing the Brewtus list in case they have feedback),
Installed the new PID conversion over the weekend, and had some good shots on
Sunday. Came home today, and the machine is on, but brew temp is showing 120F
(set at 201). When I push the up/down buttons to enter programming
It sounds like the high limit on the brew boiler tripped.
Unplug the machine and push the red button on the high limit and then try it
again.
If you forward me your number I'll give you a call.

Thanks Todd--
Pushed the tiny red button (pretty hard, it clicked) and now the machine is
climbing again. What causes this?

there's no screw or anything...

Same post mentioned below I describe the process. I'll try to find it in a
second and link to it. Easiest way is to heat the machine, then pry firmly
against the side of the screen housing (about halfway up, denting/destroying
the screen) and it will take the gasket out with it. Replace
Here's the thread in question--my post that details things and has the links to
parts is fourth down.

If you replace regularly, you're right that it will come out easily. If it's
so old that it's leaking (as the original post here) then it's probably rock
hard and won't be easy. Destroying the screen is not an issue because you
should be replacing it anyway. Here again, there's an old thread

That sounds like a good possibility. Is replacing the heating element
a major task and is there a good place for Brewtus parts?

I'd check with Todd first, he monitors this list.

Yeah, mine seems to be somewhere around 6, based on the pressure when cool
and/or first starting up.
