The G6 is 1db less than the G7 and about 3-5 ft shorter.
Also good antenna...

That's the same antenna I used when mobile, as well from my apartment
after I had to give up driving (Placed it on a pizza pan on bar counter
top.), bought it same day as licensed, still have it, now in storage in
nephew's garage..
I'm now using an ICOM W-32A with a 5/8's 2 meter accessory
How 'bout a J-pole in the attic? Even though you don't particularly need
UHF, a dual band J-pole would make you a little more future proof. The
antenna does not require grounding but you can if mounted outside (peace of
mind). Length from base to top of longest element is an inch shy of five
feet.
I have a Diamond x50a dual band base antenna it is 5.6 feet high. gain
4.5/7.2. I have it up about 30 feet. Can talk simplex over 40 miles. I think
I paid about $90.00 2 years ago.

Thanks to all that took some junk last night and a special thanks to those that
left a donation.
It is much appreciated as my garage is empty and I have more dollars to pass on.

Since 146.94 is pretty much in your back yard you can get away with most
anything. If you want to stay somewhat stealthy take a look at the Ed
Fong DBJ-1 runs $30 plus a 5 foot PVC pipe (that you paint black) I
know several that have it mounted on the back of their TV sat dish. It
is a dual
Well I think I have it narrowed down to two choices. The G6-270 or the G6-144B.
The G6-270 is about 7.5' long is factory tuned with a 4MHz bandwidth. The
G6-144B is almost 10' long and will need to be tuned. It has a 2MHz bandwidth.
The G6-270 and the G6-144B both show a expected 6dbd gain.
GP6 is a great antenna, good quality and easy to assemble. Mine is at 35'
and performs very well.

Even the Diamond X30 would do a good job. 4.5 foot tall with 3.0 on VHF and
5.5 on UHF. Just make sure your attic does not solar barrier inside it.
Also just for fun where are you located and what repeaters do you plan on
using?

Ps Even before the 34/94 refit that was done awhile
The Hustler G6-270 is a good antenna but iirc the gain is dbi...2.15db
higher than dbd... You must look and compare properly..the G6-270 is a base
antenna not mobile...is better quality than the Comets or DiamondsI
have used the Comets CX333 since I also run 220...wish Hustler made a
triband
If you want a great two meter only, the Hustler G7 cannot be beat! Well
worth the money
