You have not stated what Windows version you are using. It is likely the USB serial adapter is at fault. The Chinese fake Proflic cables abound (and In my opinion should be avoided). Proflic prepared drivers that would detect the fakes and disable them, although that was later rescinded. I seem

One more update - this is what it says in my manual - The FT450 D has a built-in level converter, allowing direct connection from the rear panel CAT jack to the serial port of your computer without the need of any external boxes. You will need a serial cable for connection to the RS-232C (serial

Many USB serial cables do not implement all the signals needed for flow control. Looking at the 450d manual, it appears to use the RTS And CTS signals. But looking further... Another possible issue is to have matching bit rates, stop bits and parity on both the radio and computer (likely 4800

Marty, Look at the schematic of the 450 CAT DB9 port in the FT450 CAT User Manual. Measure continuity on the Serial in and Out pins on the CAT end to the data in and out pins on the USB (find a pin out on the web).If they show proper continuity it is not the cableIf not.wrong cable.

Are you using the DB9 port or the round one that comes with a Rig Blaster? That happened to me when i attempted to use the serial port created by my rig blaster once. Make sure Digital VOX is turned off as well. That can Key the radio inadvertently.  On Sunday, April 28, 2019, 10:41:18 AM
