[BVARC] Fwd: ARRL Request to Contact Your US Senators Supporting S 1534 - the Amateur Radio Parity Act

I am sure many of you have seen this email from ARRL. I would like to hear 
comments from others on their thoughts on this bill. 

If I understand the bill correctly it still gives HOAs final say to antenna 
installation. I don't like that personally. It also requires you to notify the 
HOA if you already have antennas up and get approval from the HOA in order to 
keep them.

Paul I believe they were left at the fire department. It was thought they 
belonged to the fire station.

I passed my general test. I still have so much to learn and put in practice. I 
learn better by doing. Maybe Santa will bring me an hf rig this year. Anyone

[BVARC] In search of a new job

I am not sure this is allowed so please delete if not. Is that like saying jury 
ignore and strike from the record. 

I find myself in need of a new job. I would welcome any leads into an IT type 
role. I am a fast learner with over 30+ years in the industry. Willing to learn 
new things. Previous job was as an IT Manager for a hospital, and was 
responsible for a team of 6 technical analysts. Thank you all.

[BVARC] Running feeder line question

Since I have Sheetrock tore out at my house I thought now would be a good time 
to prepare for someday having a ham shack.  I have brick walls on the outside 
of my house. What recommendations would you have for putting in between the 
inside of the house and outside to make running feeder lines easier in the 
future?

The Greater Houston Hamfest is only nine days away. There is still a lot of 
planning and coordination that needs to be done. This Saturday between 1 and 3 
pm, I hope to get everything on the final page for the Hamfest.

 

If you have already volunteered for a position, please make sure you make the 
meeting to finalize your schedule. If you would like to volunteer, come to the 
meeting to sign up and find out your assignment. 

 

There is a lot of work to finish up but I feel everything will work out well 
this year for the Hamfest.  

 

I knew I was forgetting something – The meeting will be held at the Sugar Land 
Parks Department Recreational Center, 234 Matladge Way (across the street from 
the Sugar Land Post Office).

Do we have a “firm” schedule for the specific breakout sessions? I want to have 
that info on my printed “script” for my announcer helpers so they can promo 
these events a few minutes before they start.  There are other details I’ll 
include on the script. If you think of things you want promoted, please let me 
know.  I do plan (for myself and the others) to promote the raffle and the door 
prizes, but I think I can figure that out on my own.

Mike I’m not going to be able to make the meeting today. Jeff 
has agreed to do a presentation at the next bvarc meeting. 
I have a uhaul full of stuff I wasn’t expecting to take back to Austin yet but 
the realtor suggested taking it out. So we will be headed to Austin after 
breakfast. I will pass the key and mail over to Jon Noxon at breakfast.
