Re: [BVARC] FW: [Elecraft] Amateur Radio Parity Act
David, There is NO reason to be a smart a_ _ about this subject or what other people think. You obviously have all of YOUR answers, let the rest of us get ours without the snide commentsplease. Oh, and the "expert" you mentioned just happens to really be one! If the legislation affects you then do what you think is best, if not then why throw gas on the fire ? No one thinks disaster is imminent, they are just trying to improve the situation for a majority of Hams. If it passes it might improve, if it doesn't it won't get worse ! I think what everyone wants is the best piece of legislation that we can get to the benefit of all Hams, present and future and many think that as it stands now there is too much compromise in the current bill. Re: [BVARC] FW: [Elecraft] Amateur Radio Parity Act
Another voice of reason. Yes, I live in a HOA-governed subdivision, and I’ll share a secret. The size of my lot, the scarcity of volunteer help, and my budget do far more to limit my “antenna farm” than any deed restriction. I’ve been to enough HOA meetings to know it can take two years to make a homeowner repay the HOA for mowing his yard! Your mileage may vary if you live in a plosh neighborhood where the HOA has virtually unlimited funds for hiring brigades of attack lawyers. But no, I think hams have simply become far too weak-kneed. My HOA has never said a word to me about my antennas. Re: [BVARC] FW: [Elecraft] Amateur Radio Parity Act
I like the idea, but that's no where near as fun as bucking the system. HOAs have to much power and need to be leashed to put it mildly. My HOA neglects its responsibilities and over plays the legal system when it's convient. My antenna restrictions are better than most, so I am rooting for it not to pass. As a whole I am against giving any HOA more authority to abuse. But, it my 2nd least favorite Hamish topic.
