At Evotec (a UK site), we gave up using GE to service
our GE instruments (!) due to problems with their bureaucracy. Agilent
offer service contracts for Aktas that are competitively priced and
are a work-alike in our experience.
For call-outs, they sub-contract the usual

column is roughly 8 ml for Äkta Purifier, Explorer and also Prime. The actual
volume from the bottom of the column to the fractionator, or more important

but in order to run it with a PC I'd need a copy of FPLCManager. The
software is not sold anymore by Pharmacia -- Amersham -- GE. Would anybody
have a copy lying around by any chance?
