I am with Josh on this one. I find that the sun does a great job of keeping my
decks white. I keep some Scrubbing Bubbles on board, bur rarely use it. Given
time, the sun will bleach most stains, shoe marks, etc. I use the cleaner for
stuff that accumulates in the spring from trees and in

I have been very successful with a scrub brush and garden hose nozzle. We run
public sailing charters so keeping the boat clean is a pretty high priority.
Between the the birds and the pollen I'm down there everyday before the first

I used Dawn (green) this week simply because the stuff our club buys has
run out (they buy a 45g drum for $800, it is enviro safe and *very*
effective and concentrated, like one tsp in a bucket is plenty). The Dawn
seemed to work fairly well, but definitely not as concentrated as the good
stuff.
Hi David,
How about your boat's deck self-bleaching / cleaning every time it rains?
That's pretty much where mine is these days. I give it a bleach / Woody's
wax in the spring and another one in the fall. Beyond that I rinse the
deck once a month or two and clean the black streaks every month
Dawn dish detergent (blue), medium-bristle brush. Works great.

Elbow that is. LOL
I use a small electric, low pressure washer, set on med fan. 99% come up. A
white cleaning pad and small scrub brush for stubborn areas. Very seldom do I
use a cleaner. I do this 4 times a year. Brush and hose routinely.
Cleaner wax twice a year on deck and hull.

For that black mold/midew, Scrubbing Bubbles Foaming Bleach (repeat:

windy. Be careful, it makes the deck an ice rink. Great for Kiwigrip.

Different industry but I had my in-ground cement pool repaired last year.
Pool professional sent me cement certifications which I verified.
Thing is the people actually doing the work were summer employees (little/no
experience).
Long story short almost all of the work they did didn’t hold
John,
Hopefully you can work things out to some degree of satisfaction, although
I know it must be frustrating. This is exactly why I try to avoid letting
anyone work on my stuff unless I know their standards exceed mine. I make
lots of mistakes, for sure, but at least I can learn from them and
Danny,
appreciate the comments for sure and I totally agree
I did blow up initially on the Scratch (dodger is brand new not a nick) it’s
the main panel in center so not an easy or cheap fix. Clearly these girls have
no idea or training on how to remove canvas or clean a boat beyond a good wash.
This is exactly why I hate letting people work on my boat...The fact is that,
had you tried polishing yourself, you may have had similar results. However,
you might have stopped after the first one...It really was just a matter of
time before those parts started looking like that... I think
Josh that’s what I see They we’re not perfect but no bronze exposed! So they
stripped the chrome right off the bronze !Where they could get at with the big
buffer oh boy! What a project now ! Should have just cleaned myself!! big
time bummer and a small town so I see this guy all over and I
Mary-Kate on and off can remove the chrome finish... Looks like all your
pieces where chrome plated bronze. The only fix is to remove them and have
them re-plated.

I really feel like I have been hosed. After doing all the yardwork spring
clean up lawn…. I lobbied for the money I to get Halcyon Detailed. I have
been washing weekly but no time for the nitty gritty. I was given a line of BS

I accidentally found that MEK works surprisingly well. I had a fender
which was gummy and left a real mess on the side if the boat. Nothing was
getting the goo off - acetone, alcohol, goof off. I finally stumbled on
some MEK in my arsenal and the goo came right off, almost with no effort at
