About half have stayed around.
No American Redstarts yet this year.

The main road into Highlandlake/Highland Lake, is closed this week for outlet
ditch repairs. They are ways around, but there is so much noise from the
equipment, I don't know that you will see much of anything except what I
mentioned above.

Need advice on how to proceed so he doesn't burn near the nest while it is

There are a pair of Ospreys actively fishing on Highland Lake. They are flying
low over the shore and the water and do not seem to be disturbed by human
activity around the lake.

I just spotted a Prairie Falcon perched on a pole near the intersection of Weld

A Snowy Egret spent several hours this am in one of my large Maple trees.
Highland Lake is directly across the road. I was able to capture a couple of
photos, but when I tried to get closer, it flew away off to the north.

There were six Bald Eagles on the ice on Highland Lake near Mead, Weld, this
afternoon. Two juveniles and four matures. Four flew up into the trees but
there is still a mature and what appears to be a first year juvenile on the ice
in the middle of the lake.

Over the past few days, I've noticed two dead Chickadees in my southwestern
Weld County yard. Both were at the base of large trees. I didn't report them
though. I figured that if more showed up, then I would. We have quite a few
Chickadees in our are, but not as many as we used to have.

Just a note, that while Highland Lake is privately owned, it is open
, especially on the south and west field. If I see it again,
I will try to lure it into a cage or live trap with some corn. If my suspicions
are correct, and if I can catch it, I'll run it up to the Evergreen Wildlife
Rescue and get it some help.
