I relocated an American Dipper below the bridge on Lowell Blv'd over
Clear Creek (Adams Co.) at 4:55 pm. The bird was near the bank and
easy to see both in the water and dipping on rocks and shore. This
location is right at Lowell Ponds SWA. My first sightng this winter
was Nov.12, 2011.

about 5:30 pm today. The yellow horns on black head were clearly visible
with binos, even raised. Neck and breast of both birds were light, so in a

interesting hawk at the south side parking lot. It had a lighter head with
a dark eyeline, the beak was dark at tip. wings were reddish, but mottled.
