Hi Christoph,
 I'm indeed interested, in particular in:

> battery, original&new, 9 eur

Anyway, I've a silly question: do you know the capacity of that new
batteries?

I mean that, as far as I know:
* a battery looses capacity even if it is not used;
* there is no way to measure the remaining capacity of a battery.

Thanks a lot,

Not at all, indeed... I can only see the x11vnc logs via ssh after
launching vnc, but I've never tried to understand that logs.

Re: [QtMoko] new svg keyboard

2014-02-21 Thread Giacomo 'giotti7; Mariani
Ciao Joif,
your new keyboard is absolutely amazing, thanks a lot.

There is only one small problem: it does not work well with x11vnc: it
seems that the keys are not mapped or, in some case, not mapped correctly.

By the way, the remote keyboard in x11vnc works correctly with
qtmoko-input-dockedkeyboard.

Thanks a lot,

[QtMoko] PyQt compatibility

2014-02-05 Thread Giacomo 'giotti7; Mariani
Hello Radek, everyone,
 I'm looking at PyQt and, after installing all the necessary packages,
I tried to run a simple program, but (as expected) I got:

# python first.py
Fontconfig error: Cannot load default config file
first.py: cannot connect to X server

Do you think it is possible to run it integrated in QtMoko?

Thanks,

Glad to help. I hope this gives you some information :-)

Changing the subject, I wonder if the following makes sense: would it be
possible, through the GSM, to obtain (backup) ALL the content of the SIM
so to be able to "fake" the SIM at software level?
This would make the phone a pseudo-dualSIM: for example, owning two SIMs
(and their software backups) it should be possible to switch from one to
the other at software level.
What's your opinion?

Best regards,
 Giacomo

As far as I can see, it should be absolutely possible.

PS If someone needs, I can share my files so that a simple "make

Hello everyone,
following http://norayr.arnet.am/log/?p=113 I managed to compile
loadtools-r2 and tiffs-iva-r1 packages in a chroot (Debian 7) directory
mounted in my phone (running QtMoko v58) via nfs from my laptop.

After that I installed the tools from the phone OS (not chroot) with a
simple "make install" in
/mountPoint/pathTo/loadtools-r2 and /mountPoint/pathTo/tiffs-iva-r1

Everything looks fine, but it does not work:

I've to correct myself, sorry.

If I do:

root@neo:/mnt/nfs# mount.nfs
192.168.0.200:/home/jack/Programmazione/Openmoko/Distros/QtMoko/CHROOT/
/mnt/nfs/

It mounts "well":

root@neo:/mnt/nfs# mount
[...]
192.168.0.200:/home/jack/Programmazione/Openmoko/Distros/QtMoko/CHROOT
on /mnt/nfs type nfs4
(rw,relatime,vers=4,rsize=524288,wsize=524288,namlen=255,hard,proto=tcp,port=0,timeo=600,retrans=2,sec=sys,clientaddr=192.168.0.202,minorversion=0,local_lock=none,addr=192.168.0.200)

But there is something that does not seem to work as I expect: even if
/home/jack/Programmazione/Openmoko/Distros/QtMoko/CHROOT it's not empty:

root@neo:/mnt/nfs# ls
root@neo:/mnt/nfs#

and, viceversa, if I create a file on the neo I can't see it on the laptop.
Moreover, when I umount it, the file are still there and, even if the
remote directory is mounted looking at "df" the FS space used is from
rootfs :-(

Thanks,
 Giacomo

[QtMoko] Problem mounting a nfs directory

2014-01-29 Thread Giacomo 'giotti7; Mariani
Hello everyone,
in order to compile something on my freerunner I'd like to use for
that a nfs directory+chroot.

I edited fstab accordingly and tried to mount:

root@neo:/mnt/nfs# mount `pwd`
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on
192.168.0.200:/home/jack/Programmazione/Openmoko/Distros/QtMoko/CHROOT/,
 missing codepage or helper program, or other error
 (for several filesystems (e.g. nfs, cifs) you might
 need a /sbin/mount. helper program)
 In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try
 dmesg | tail or so

Consequently I tried to install nfs-common, but:

root@neo:/mnt/nfs# apt-get install nfs-common
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
The following NEW packages will be installed:
 nfs-common
0 upgraded, 1 newly installed, 0 to remove and 2 not upgraded.
Need to get 0 B/180 kB of archives.
After this operation, 623 kB of additional disk space will be used.
Selecting previously unselected package nfs-common.
(Reading database ... 12006 files and directories currently installed.)
Unpacking nfs-common (from .../nfs-common_1%3a1.2.6-4em1_armel.deb) ...
Setting up nfs-common (1:1.2.6-4em1) ...

Creating config file /etc/idmapd.conf with new version

Creating config file /etc/default/nfs-common with new version
[FAIL] Starting NFS common utilities: statd idmapd failed!
invoke-rc.d: initscript nfs-common, action "start" failed.
dpkg: error processing nfs-common (--configure):
subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Errors were encountered while processing:
nfs-common
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

I googled and tried some stuff like "apt-get install portmap" or
"apt-get install -f", but with no results.
Do you have any suggestion?

Thanks a lot,
 Giacomo

Re: testing the free calypso software

2014-01-27 Thread Giacomo 'giotti7; Mariani
Hi David, Michael, all,
thanks a lot for your work, it is very emotional to see this
"little" piece of freedom rising!

I'm still not brave enough to risk my only (I mean in all my life time
so far) mobile phone, but I will soon ;-)

By the way, I think that your work, with the right notes about being
experimental and so on of course, should also be in the official wiki.

A small question about the procedure you describe: is the t191 cable
only needed to backup the "vital parts of the calypso memory" or also to
write the new firmware?

By the way, yes, a distro able to flash and back-up everything without
additional cables would be very appreciated.

Internationalist greetings,
 Giacomo

I've been using 2.6.39 with ar6000 commented in /etc/modules in the last
week and I've not encountered the resume so far.

Editing /etc/modules I noticed that snd-soc-neo1973-wm8753 is repeated
three times. Is it the right behaviour?

Thank you very much!

By the way, gnuchess does not seem to work on this last QtMoko release.
Is this a my problem or is it a common one?

I've a suggestion for you developers: in the "scripts" menu (top left
icon in the mail menu) it would be great if the script could be return
some kind of feedback. For example, each category (such as "GPS
standby") should present a slide button with the two (or more) possible
values (checked against the script behind, if possible). Indeed, it
should be something similar to neocontrol...
Sorry for proposing instead of coding, but my lack of knowledge is too
big :-(

Thanks. I think I will use a couple of unused scripts available in
devtools. Meanwhile, how can I add a new one there?

I noticed that the wifi symbol is not displayed if I start wifi that
way. Do you know how the wifi symbol is triggered in the theme?

Best regards,

[QtMoko] Wireless connention to eduroam

2013-03-11 Thread Giacomo 'giotti7; Mariani

Dear Radeck, all,
I use to connect to eduroam wireless network in Europe and I'm not
able to do this from the GUI, su I wrote a simple script to achieve this
(even if it does not work everytime...):
#!/bin/bash
rm /var/lib/wpa_supplicant/eth0
killall wpa_supplicant
om wifi power 1
sllep 2
om wifi maxperf eth0 1
sleep 2
wpa_supplicant -Dwext -ieth0 -c/etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant-eduroam.conf
-B
sleep 30
dhclient eth0

where
# cat /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant-eduroam.conf
ctrl_interface=/var/lib/wpa_supplicant
ctrl_interface_group=0
eapol_version=1
fast_reauth=1
ap_scan=1

network={
ssid="eduroam"
proto=WPA2 WPA RSN
key_mgmt=WPA-EAP
eap=TTLS
identity="user"
password="pass"
#phase2="auth=Any"
phase2="auth=PAP"
}

Now my question: which is the best way to create an icon to launch it?

A second one: have you got any suggestion on how to improve it?

Best regards,
 Giacomo

Dear Radek,

Thanks a lot for this new release!

I just tried to upgrade via apt and I've got a few of problems:

Failed to fetch
http://qtmoko.sourceforge.net/apps/./libsdl-qtmoko_1.2.14-6.1_armel.deb
404 Not Found

which I easily solved with
# wget
http://qtmoko.sourceforge.net/apps/armel/libsdl-qtmoko_1.2.14-6.1_armel.deb
# dpkg -i libsdl-qtmoko_1.2.14-6.1_armel.deb

Also the problem with the key(OpenPGP key 0x91B27C1E1DC56A1F) was easy
to solve:
# wget --no-check-certificate
https://github.com/radekp/qtmoko/raw/master/dist/qtmoko-pubring.gpg
# apt-key add qtmoko-pubring.gpg && rm qtmoko-pubring.gpg

After this everything went smooth. One thing looks strange to me:
qtmoko-neo is still version48-1, even with:
# apt-get remove qtmoko-neo
# apt-get install qtmoko-neo
# dpkg -i | grep qtmoko-neo
ii qtmoko-neo48-1Smartphone environment based
on QT Extended - Neo FreeRunner flavor

Is it correct?

Best regards,
 Giacomo

PS opendune is not working for me :-(

Re: [QtMoko] Error compiling on wheezy

2012-12-04 Thread Giacomo 'giotti7; Mariani
Hi All,
 following Radek suggestion, I've being able to start QtMoko on the
virtual machine: just hat to run it as root.

Most of the icons are not working, such as the application menu, which
is partially populated.

Now, after "git pull", I'm trying to recompile, but I get the following
error in ./configure:

ERROR: You requested "-sound-system pulse" but it was disabled.

Do you have any suggestion?

Best,

Re: [QtMoko] Error compiling on wheezy

2012-11-26 Thread Giacomo 'giotti7; Mariani
Hi all.

Updates:
* I had to install libasound2 libgstreamer-plugins-base0.10-0
libts-0.0-0 in order to solve library dependencies.
* I had no mouse in console, so I had to install gpm.

Now I'm able to run qpe, but:
* the mouse is quite unresponsive.
* the QtMoko calibration window appears, but I'm not able to click and
calibrate it... :
Cannot open input device '/dev/tty0': Permission denied
readFile failed /sys/bus/platform/devices/twl4030_usb/vbus : "No such
file or directory"
readFile failed /sys/class/power_supply/bq27000-battery/status : "No
such file or directory"
readFile failed /sys/class/power_supply/bq27000-battery/capacity : "No
such file or directory"
readFile failed /sys/class/power_supply/bq27000-battery/current_now :
"No such file or directory"

Any further suggestion?

Thanks a lot,
 Giacomo

Re: [QtMoko] Error compiling on wheezy

2012-11-23 Thread Giacomo 'giotti7; Mariani
Hello Frode, Everyone,
following http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=652038 ,
http://frontseed.com/entry/enable-frambeuffer-ubuntu-karmic-koala-using-grub2
and
http://news.softpedia.com/news/How-to-Fix-the-Big-and-Ugly-Plymouth-Logo-in-Ubuntu-10-04-140810.shtml,
I've been able to enable the fb.

The most important steps, in my opinion, could be:
* aptitude install v86d
* modprobe uvesafb

Soon I will try compiling and running QtMoko.

Cheers,
 Giacomo

Hello Radeck, everyone,
 I successfully built QtMoko in chroot on a Squeeze VirtualBox machine
with target PC :-)

...but now I can't run it: what do you mean by

* Now switch to first console (CTRL+ALT+F1) and run it:

If I do it under chroot I get:

qtmoko-chroot:/opt$ qpe

The same happens if I do it outside chroot (connecting with ssh -Y):

My freerunner, usually last in suspend between one and two days,
depending on the weather (I think the quality of the GSM signal).

Anyway, a strange thinks happened.
In the last few days my QtMoko lightning icon started saying
number/0mA, where number is an integer reasonably representing the
consumption (negative if charging).

But the last suspend is always 0.

(Maybe, it started after the last update of the theme via apt, but I'm
not sure.)

Could it be due to the breaking of the soldering of #1024 fix? I did
not check if the soldering is still there, but recently, a few times,
when exiting from the suspend, I see the "no network" and "searching
from network" icons.

Previously I had that value shown.

I tried to reproduce the bug and, after sending one SMS (never received)
I received a phone call, but I've not been able to answer and, when I
tried to call back, it tried to call, but no sound came from the
hearphone and no one answered, so I think phone functionalities were not
working.
I will try again.

By the way, what does the four symbols below he calendar on the home of
mokofaen stand for?
* provider
* ?/? (number over number)
* consumption
* ? (empty)

Thanks and best regards,

Hello Radek, Joif, anyone,
thanks a lot for your great work: this new release, associated with
the MokoFaen theme, is absolutely great!

What I miss is the qmlviewer executable. On my ubuntu machine it is in
the qt4-qmlviewer package, which is not available on qtmoko. Have you
got some solution for it?

[QtMoko] WPA BUG

2012-01-25 Thread Giacomo 'giotti7; Mariani

Hello Radek, everyone,
 I recently managed to connect to the wpa network of my work
place, WPA/WPA2 enterprise with TTLS and PAP as inner authentication
based on username and password.

To do so I had to see the wpa_supplicant.conf created by android, copy
and modify it on qtmoko and manually run wpa_suppplicant on QtMoko. The
only difference was that

phase2="auth=Any" of qtmoko shouild be
phase2="auth=PAP"

This mod worked, so I tried to modify QtMoko in order to create the
right file. To do this I edited /opt/qtmoko/bin/lan-network and found
the incriminated line:
[ -n "$WIRELESS_EAP_AUTH" ] && echo "
phase2=\"auth=$WIRELESS_EAP_AUTH\"" >> $WPACONF

My problem is that I can't locate WIRELESS_EAP_AUTH in the src code...
any hints?

Moreover, I hope that this could be useful to someone smarter than me.

Regards,
 Giacomo

Hello Radek, everyone,
first of all, as usual, thanks for your great work.

I've been using QtMoko v35 for retrieve my email, from both gmail and
yahoo imap servers, for months.
When I upgraded to v37 yahoo keeps working as usual, that is very well,
but for the wrong exit code.
On the other side, gmail stopped working: messages are downloaded
"correctly",

but nothing appears as message body.
If a select the "plai text" options, the following appears: part is not displayable>

Is there someone with the same problem and/or a solution?

Any other ideas for cool qt apps that you would like on QtMoko?
I'd like very much some web-cam software in order to take pictures with
a small USB web-cam.

I've seen http://gitorious.org/kapture, but never tried it ;-).

Tanks a lot,

[QtMoko] qml question

2011-09-12 Thread Giacomo 'giotti7; Mariani

Hello everyone,
 some day ago I was looking at http://qt-apps.org hoping in some
port (qbriscola could be very cool) and I found a sokoban game which
exploits qml:

http://qt-apps.org/content/show.php?action=content&content=134799

On my kubuntu 11.04 I only had to install qt4-qmlviewer in order to play
it.
On my freerunner with qtmoko v35 I've not been able to find the package
nor to play the game in any other way.

Have you got any suggestion?

Thanks,

[QtMoko] Patch to modify default userAgent

2011-07-20 Thread Giacomo 'giotti7; Mariani

Hello everyone,
wondering why the mobile visualization was missing in arora I
found informations about the userAgent (thanks Sanvy).
Following some links I arrived at
http://www.ericgiguere.com/tools/http-header-viewer.html which, reached
from qtmoko-arora showed a given string with no "mobile keyword". I
grepped in qtmoko src code and found that the userAgent is probably
defined in

qtmoko/qtopiacore/qt/src/3rdparty/webkit/WebKit/qt/Api/qwebpage.cpp

As Sanvy reported a very well working string is the following one:
Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 1.5; en-us; HTC Dream Build/FRG83)
AppleWebKit/533.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/533.1

To reach the desired goal, even if in a dirty way, a added two lines to
qwebpage.cpp:

2509 }
2510 + ua.clear();
2511 + ua = QLatin1String("Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 1.5; en-us;
HTC Dream Build/FRG83) AppleWebKit/533.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0
Mobile Safari/533.1");

2512 return ua;
2513 }

Now I'm try to compile it, but I'd like to avoid compiling the whole
system... I found the directory

build/qtopiacore/target/src/3rdparty/webkit/WebCore/

which contains a "good" project file, but, when I run make, I get:
[...]
make: arm-linux-g++: Command not found
make: *** [.obj/release-shared-emb-arm/qwebpage.o] Error 127

even if the toolchain is well working under "normal conditions" (like,
for example: build/src/3rdparty/applications/neocontrol).

Thanks for any hints,
Giacomo

lock the sceen in QtMoko home screen.

[QtMoko] Yahoo-imap problem

2011-07-07 Thread Giacomo 'giotti7; Mariani

Hello everyone,
I've a "small" problem retrieving my emails from my yahoo account using
the imap protocol.
It works well, that is the messages are correctly downloaded, but the
exit code(?) is always wrong and the bodies of the messages are not
downloaded, even if their size is below the "download limit".

A screen-shot of the problem is visible at [1].

I think that the problem could be related to what stated at [2]:
"However they require a specific, non-standard IMAP command to be sent
before login is done, namely: “ID ("GUID" "1")”. This non standard
command ..."

but I'm not sure at all ;-)

Any suggestion is welcome!

Hello,

Hi, list

I have recently launched an shr-u update, and now it doesn't boot anymore. I
suspect the update downloads filled NAND, but I'm not sure.

Following http://wiki.openmoko.org/wiki/UBIFS the command should be:

followed by:

#mount -t ubifs ubi0:om-gta02-rootfs /media/om

debian-gta02:~# modprobe ubi

debian-gta02:~# ubimkvol /dev/ubi0 -N rootfs -m

Can anyone help me with this error?
Isn't possible to mount a full ubifs partition or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks

That is one of the file I placed on the site for download - it should

Re: Bluetooth keyboards

2011-05-02 Thread giacomo 'giotti7; mariani

Hello,

Hi all.

Howdy

>Will bluetooth keyboards work with the freerunner (qtmoko)?

Well. It's a fully featured linux.
I recently bought a bluetooth headset.
Works like charm together with my FreeRunner (SHR)
Shouldn't be SUCH a problem to also get it running
under QtMoko and so I guess something simple as a keyboard
will even be less tinkering to get it working.
I bet there are thousand and one HowTos around.

http://www.ubuntugeek.com/howto-setup-bluetooth-keyboard-and-mouse-in-ubuntu.html

Bluetooth+HCID is the keyword

Is there any update on the topic of BT keyboard+QtMoko?

Yes.

>An alternative could be the one from the wiki:
>http://wiki.openmoko.org/wiki/Freedom_Slim_Keyboard
>But there is no mention of qtmoko support?

The distro only has to serve the needed bt-tools,
then everything will work.

I recently bought the following one:

http://cgi.ebay.it/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260747301433&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

which is quite cheep, small and light.
It can pair with QtMoko but I can't use it for input. I tested it with
the iphone of a colleague and, indeed, it works.

Hello Phil,
I've just tried it: it displays correctly on my PC, but I can't input
anything with mouse nor keyboard. Am I missing something?

x11vnc behaves like twm - the pointer needs to be inside the window
for it to be active . .

Let me know if that fixes things.

Phil.

Phil,
 thanks for your answer.

If I understand correctly you are speaking about QX. I was wondering if
keyboard and mouse could be used in "bare" qtmoko, for SMS and similar
stuffs: entering the VNC window "neo:0" I see my mobile GUI, but I can
not interact with it.

[QtMoko] Dictopia & Qgcide

2011-04-26 Thread giacomo 'giotti7; mariani

Hello,
 I recently installed Dictopia & Qgcide on QtMoko v35.

About Qgcide: I let it download the dictionary
(/media/card/.qgcide/gcide-entries.xml.gz) but it turn out that I've not
enough space on the partition. Moreover that is a vfat partition and so
I can't make symbolic links in it. Is there a way to set a different
location for the dictionary?

About Dictopia: I've some star-dict dictionary in my uSD-data-partition,
but I don't know how to instruct Dictopia about where they can be found.
Is there any configuration file I can edit?

Re: Building QtMoko

2011-04-21 Thread giacomo 'giotti7; mariani

Hello everyone,
just to avoid a new thread...

I am (to be honest a friend of mine is...) trying to make some
improvements in QtMoko.
I was able to compile it but, after a small modification in a single
file, I noticed that "make" took a very long time. Instead, in
build/path/to/mod/file/ a found a "Makefile" and, there, I was able to
generate a new, single, binary file.

I was also able to "scp" the file on the phone and it worked perfectly.

What I'd like to know is: is this the right way to modify and compile?

Thanks

I think you need to attach the ubifs before mounting. See
http://openmoko-public-mailinglists.1958.n2.nabble.com/UBI-success-story-td4218730.html
for the steps, though unless you want to reformat, you shouldn't follow
all of them.

Ben

Alternatively, you can follow http://wiki.openmoko.org/wiki/UBIFS :
# apt-get install mtd-utils # if you are on qtmoko

# ubiattach /dev/ubi_ctrl -O 2048 -m 6
# mount -t ubifs ubi0:om-gta02-rootfs /media/om
# ls /media/om

Anyway it could be a problem related to ubifs instability, which is a
topic recently discussed in mailing list [1]. You can follow that tread
and try to:

Guy who'll have ubifs trubles please try to:

1. disable bulk read in fstab and check if problem will still exist.
2. do nanddump and post it or try to reproduce bug with nandsim. (i
guess ubifs guys can fix problem in case if such dump exist quite fast)

We could use jffs2 if we link /var/cache/apt to a tiny partition on SD.
Then while SD is in huge updates will work, if SD is removed -> no apt,
but still a runing system.
In my opinion ubifs is a great improvement: it looks faster than jffs2
and less memory consumer than jffs2.
It should be used, if possible. So I suggest to use it and to send
kernel messages and nandump to ubifs guys in order to help them.

And that's what I'm doing ;-)

Do you have deep sleep enabled? According to current_now in NeoControl battery
should be ok. You should have ~12mA. I tested only 2.6.37 kernel which was
more then 5 days on one charge.

Radek

Hello Radeck and all,
I think that, for me, QtMoko v35, on uSD, can last for a little
more than 24 hours with few phone call and deep-sleep enabled.
if I open NeoControl -> Battery, suspend the phone, wait 15' and
de-suspend I see:

Battery status: Discharging
Current: 41062
GPS power: 0
Bluetooth power: 1

After a couple of minutes Current becomes 219000.

- Are these the expected values?
- What's the unit of measure of the Current?

Thanks
giacomo

PS Thanks for qtmoko-chess, I like it!

Re: Qtmoko and u-boot

Hi, Ed,

I am using mine u-boot with few fixes, it's not without bugs, but it
probably has less bugs than openmoko's u-boot:

http://wiki.openmoko.org/wiki/U-boot-gena2x

Also i'd suggest to try reducing sd card clock in kernel params (in
u-boot env, glamo_mci.sd_max_clk=1500).

Hello Gennady,
 I've always had some problem with glamo timing (at least I think).

Would you mind spend a couple of words about the glamo_mci.sd_max_clk
option? Maybe adding it in the wiki [1] :-)

Thank you very much

Re: [QtMoko] Config files

2011-03-29 Thread giacomo 'giotti7; mariani

Hello,
 I replay to my own email to improve some of its contents.

Hello everyone and thanks to all QtMoko developers/contributors: it is
a great distribution!

Anyway, on NAND, since v32, I have some problem with the NAND FS: it
became corrupted and hard to recover.
I talk with gena2x who suggested me that the reason of these corruptions
could be bad blocks in NAND memory: that made me remember that, some
time ago, I "probably" erased my factory partition instead of the kernel
one :-)
Looking at [1] I did not find a way to make a new one, have you got some
hints?

The first time it happened the involved files were in /opt and I was
able to recover de-installing and re-installing QtMoko via apt-get.
Now the problematic files are in /usr/share/openmoko and, maybe,
somewhere else I've not seen. I'm not able to remove and overwrite
them nor to mount the NAND with mount -t ubifs so I've no idea on how
to recover the system.
Looking at [2] I was able to mount the root NAND partition, but with no
further improvements of FS status :-(

Any hint is very appreciated!

As a rescue option I'd like to backup all config file in order to
restore my setting so I'm here to ask you: which are these files and
how can I restore them? I suppose that I have to backup

neo:/home/root# find . -name "*sql*"
./Applications/Qtopia/qtopia_db.sqlite
./Applications/qtopiamail/qtopia_db.sqlite

Other ones?
Even if the partition status is now worst and I'm not sure I can recover
any file :-(

Thank you very much
 Giacomo

Re: Buzz Fix

2011-03-18 Thread giacomo 'giotti7; mariani

If you use QTmoko (you should;), try the following settings in Neocontrol:

Playback: 125
Sidetone: 3
Mic2: 1

Good luck,

Linus

I use a slightly different set of values (thanks to
http://hnet.endofinternet.net/elektro/Freerunner/ALSA/sound_setting.html):

Speaker Playback: 116
Mono Playback: 120
Sidetone: 1
Mic2: 0

PS As you can see looking at
/usr/share/openmoko/scenarios/gsmhandset.state while using NeoControl
Playback (while stating to refer to control.5: Mono Playback) refers to
control.4 (Speaker Playback ). In order to change control.5 you have to
edit the gsmhandset.state file manually.

Hi,

I hope there is still some chances that Radek will change his dicision.

> From my point of view where is no real need in FSO/qt gibrid, because of
following reasons:

1. qt stack has richer functionalily, better performance, and less bugs
than that FSO dbus/vala thing (don't throw rotten tomatoes to me plese)
2. qt has it's own resource management, FSO - it's own, rewriting qt one
to FSO one is worthless effort
3. where logs of significantly more useful, easier and non-destructive
goals to rich, i can suggest few:
3.1 switch back to X11. with new graphical subsystem performance this
will work great.
3.2 switch to newer qt versions
3.3 fix 100500 bugs left
3.4 add gta04 support<- most important
3.5 improve performance and usability
3.6 implement new features, like: 'geek' theme, sliding buttons in
answer screen

^^^ IMO this set can keep everyone busy for a while.

where is also no real benefit visible from switching to FSO. qtmoko will
become more complicated, more buggy, slower, harder to develop:(

I afraid i'll have to stay on non-FSO version forether. And certain,
this planned change worth more discussion. If someone wants FSO, better
to install it on debian or with SHR.

Gennady.

+1
Absolutely.

I think you should delete /opt then

update-rc.d -f qpe.sh remove
apt-get install qtmoko
update-rc.d qtmoko defaults

However i have not tested this and i dont promise it will work:-) Please note
that this is still experimental. Next version will be probably stable.

I agree, but I think vi/vim is quite a basic tool in any distribution.
I'd remove nano instead, not so common as vi is.

Hi,
i have uploaded new qtmoko v33 images to sourceforge now [1]

Thank you very much!!

* updated docs for building and compiling

Very interesting ;-)

For installing qtmoko with apt there is new line now in /etc/apt/sources.list:

debhttp://qtmoko.sourceforge.net/debian/ /
Do you mean that I can update from QtMoko v32 with a single "apt-get
update && apt-get upgrade"?

Applications and themes are right now not in that repo. They can be installed
from web browser from url below [4]. Applications are put in categories, they
have tags and screenshots for easy searching and navigation. Please let me
know if you have ideas or patches for improving this.

Isn't it possible to have them in a repo and install them with apt?

Again: thank you very much!
