Thanks everyone for the help. I ended up removing the System file from the

The wierd thing was (to me at least) that after this treatment was applied,
instead of giving me the blinking ?, the SE/30 would momentarily display
Yo compacters everywhere,
Mark Benson [EMAIL PROTECTED] tells us:
I don't think LC 575s suck *as such* they just don't have the style of the CC,
it's a case of attaching the best case to the best guts possible.
Huh? How do you define best case? Does form follow function in your idea of best
Yo compacters everywhere,

I don't care how people call them. This list is for compacts, so if the

And if they are not compact enough, we should make them more compact!

Before heading over to a PowerMac list with the following, I thought I'd

Today, I picked up an undamaged 5200 or 5300 mobo from Waterloo flea

Hmmm... You know, I've always thought my first 575 MoBo a bit unique. When
I first removed it from a 575 and trialed it in a CC (running OS 7.6.1),

I've been under the impression that most of the software we use require
it as a minimum. Frankly, I've begun missing the characteristic look

the CC's original rez on that cute screen. So, is there
Well, go for a composite instead of pure liquid fuel - they're commercially
available (AeroTech, among others, make them,) and much easier to handle
and deal with, while still providing some pretty nice punch.
I have worked with solids before but this time I am going for a liquid fuel
engine
isn't there a brand of pretzels called cc's ? ;)

don't want the rocket to be too wide (and hopefully this small logic board

A powerbook logic board will solve both of these problems,

I'd think a compact. OTOH,

Smallest I can think of is probably the Q605/LC III/LC II. I'd use the
Q605 if I were you.
2. How can I manage the voltage from a battery?
That'll be a problem. 12V is a

Reading some of the later posts, and thinking a bit more, I think a

Unfortunately, none of them are particularly cheap like a Q605 board would
be. Shouldn't be too terribly difficult to wire up a couple PowerBook
batteries for the proper voltages, however...

Same as an LC II or LC III board; I think MacGurus might have some info.
The service manual PDF might too.
