My memory is that the font is identified as corrupt, and you can choose to delete it or leave it in place. If you validate the fonts, what happens when you validate corrupt fonts. They get repaired or identified as needing to be replaced? db

VLC is a good choice, good support for a wide variety of codecs out of the box. Codec/containers etc can be extremely confusing especially when you get into subtitle support etc. You may look at this codec to install: http://www.free-codecs.com/download/AC3_Filter.htm Someone else on the list
