when i downgraded the executables to the version 0.39.3.20020928, everything

I have a mail system based on :
fetchmail + postfix + maildrop + courier-imap
user's Maildir directory are set in $HOME
Is it possible to have individual config files for courier-imap ?
I'd like to tweak the IMAP_EMPTYTRASH setting to purge a long list of
directory I use for mailing

Hmm, I fear that maybe my qestion (below) was too long, or too convoluted...
has anyone had success getting dash extensions to work with shell accounts

Ok, so we know the system is finding the address correctly. That's good.
I've not used ldap stuff before, so the only real help I can offer is a
blind shot in the dark:
1. does /etc/courier/imapd have 'AUTHMODULES=authdaemon'? (looks like yes)
2. do you need to specify 'AUTH=CRAM-MD5
When I try to user authldap I get the following error:
ldap_simple_bind_s failed: Protocol error
Here's my authldaprc:
LDAP_SERVER localhost
LDAP_PORT 389
LDAP_BASEDN o=hosting,dc=snagmail,dc=com
LDAP_TIMEOUT8
LDAP_AUTHBIND 0
Hello,
Two issues I have. The first is if a user tries logging in, and they
don't have permissions to access a directory, courier-imap logs
chdir: failed, but doesn't return an error message to the user. This
results in the mail client sitting and waiting for a response from
the server

Wouldn't the folder name be the username? In other words,
[EMAIL PROTECTED] would have a folders named
walter.johnson.INBOX.trash and walter.johnson.shared.meetings
If this were the case, wouldn't this confuse the folder hierarchy
function?

The OpenLDAP Software 2.x server supports LDAPv3 and, if enabled, limited

List,
I was trying to install Courier-imap (cause I use Postfix with
Maildir) and was having a devil of a time. I've followed the install
and other HOWTOs to the letter for this install and have not ever gotten
it to work. After successful ./configure; make; make check; su root;
umask

Hi again.
Agisilaos.koutcons.gr is not registered anywhere. Is just a test mail
and I'm using it locally so at a later time (if it works) it will
replace mail.koutcons.gr
So agisilaos.koutcons.gr (195.167.20.43) is registered only in my local
dns.
Is it possible to cause problems this?

I have Courier 0.38.0 installed here and I am using entries in
/etc/courier/bofh to block spam very successfully.
I have exactly the same version installed at a client's site and any
entries
I put in /etc/courier/bofh are completely ignored.
Anyone got any ideas why?
Did you disable DNS
