[CTRL] Anglo say Bye Bye to South Africa

1999-05-25 Thread Taylor, John (JH)

 -Caveat Lector-

Just a short note to commemorate the fact that the wheel has turned full
circle. Anglo american, the group that was founded by cecil John Rhodes(not
quite but almost) has now relocated its offices to London after a century in
South Africa.

They claim that they are not deserting the country, and that they need to
leave because of globalisation(not true- america is just an email away) and
that the cost of capital is almost double in South africa than it is in the
developed world(true).
But leaving they are and they will no loger have the countries future quite
at heart as their pesonal future is no longer at stake.
(If the south africans ever feel lonely there are about 60 000 expats now in
the UK and in any case Londons younger population in now more than 50% of
non european origin so it even looks more and more like SA). Thet arrive
strangley just in time to miss the election in the country and to attend the
bilderberger meeting in portugal.

Also on the news last week was that report by the Royal Institute of
international affairs(nice coincidence) that SA will not succeed and will
stagnate or go backwards(now we know the plot for the country)

So we say fare well to one of the old conspiracies and continue with the
new.

John

PS apologies I got my mixed up Gordon was killed in what is now the
Sudan.
The war there between the Arab north and the black (christian) south has
cost between 1-2million (mostly black) lives but that genocide is
politically correct and not photogenic.

Well, Johnit is that I always liked Charleton Heston

Bye By South Africa, means deep trouble for guys like Champagne Charlie,
Princess Diana's brother does it not?

Perhaps they have enough industrial diamonds in their pockets to last a
few hundred years; also love that "secret" meeting of the
Bilderbergers..I do not believe his Holiness, the Pope, would go
near that spot.

Where did the Pentagon get all those industrial diamonds they were
trying to sell.bet they got a lot of green green grass for sale
there too.

PS: I hated it when El Cid got killed toohere again, Charleton

I'm done with this subject for now in light of a REALLY dangerous
  situation in

  your
Libertarian fears are about the state and guns, than you are.

The government will take care of us, right Nurev? Let the
government murderers and cowards of the FBI and ATF have the guns. They
 did
such a great job at Ruby Ridge, Waco, the World Trade Bombing, and the
 OKC

that's right nurev, we will feel so much safer when they are the only

Nurev, you are either incurably ignorant as to the facts in the above

I'm not doubting government malfeasance. I'm doubting your judgment.
Not all these pet paranoias are facts either. The reason I answered yes to
 all
your your examples of paranoid foolishness is because they have nothing to
 do with YOU.

Yes they are facts. You can deny them till you're blue in the face.Ask
Charles Key about OKC, if you can be bothered. Bu then again, if what he says
doesn't fit your dogma you'll dismiss it just like everything else that is
contrary to your mindset. You are so simple minded that you think that those
incidents do not
effect me or others? Are you that stupid? Do you think Waco hasn't greatly
exacerbated people's fears about the government? They have everything to do
with me when the government kills people because maybe I am next. That is
not paranoid delusions, that is facing facts.

But then that is alright with you, isn't it? You have the gall
to advocate taking guns away from American citizens and only giving
government agancies the right to have guns. A government completely
  corrupted

 charge of
government agencies who are armed against an unarmed populace?

I think that my position on Government and Clinton is quite clear by
now. But I don't trust you armed even more than I don't trust the
  Government armed. That's because
you are a " true believer " with a gun and seemingly nuts to boot. I,
  and apparently
very many of your fellow citizens don't trust you with weapons. How

  Gavin;

I am not a "true believer" in anything except religious matters.

I hoped this was a joke but it's not. The term " true believer," is
 rooted
in religion. It means that you are blinded by your belief system.

 Three NAFTA news items.
Can you say "open borders"? And "cheap labor"?

Texas bill would send billions to border projects

By Harihar Krishnan

DALLAS, May 12 (Reuters) - Texas lawmakers could decide as early as this week
the fate of a plan to spend billions of dollars on infrastructure
improvements along the Mexico border, partly in response to a NAFTA-inspired
trade surge.

The bill, which would leverage federal highway funds through bond sales, has
already cleared the state Senate but its fate in a House committee is less
certain.

Key lawmakers said this week that if the Transportation Committee fails to
act by Friday the measure would die and could not be taken up for another two
years, when the legislature convenes for its next session.

The bill seeks to take advantage of a new federal program that allows states
to borrow against future federal highway funds using a new type of security
known as Garvees, or grant anticipation revenue vehicles.

But Texas and several other states face a major obstacle in taking advantage
of the federal program -- state constitutions that permit financing of
highway bonds only on a pay-as-you-go basis, using fuels taxes and revenues
derived from vehicles registration.

Some experts said a constitutional amendment may therefore be needed if Texas
plans to proceed with a Garvee bond deal. The bill approved by the Senate
already includes provisions for such an amendment.

State Sen. Eliot Shapleigh, a Democrat from El Paso and a major supporter of
the bill, said new highway construction is desperately needed to meet demands
arising from the growth of trade across the border, which he said was sparked
by the North American Free Trade Agreement.

"Texas is 10 years behind on NAFTA readiness," Shapleigh said. "Eighty-five
percent of NAFTA surface traffic moves through Texas border ports and we need
new projects to improve the efficiency of these ports."

The Senator said the Garvee bonds would accelerate construction of
NAFTA-related projects and help save as much as five to seven percent in
future construction costs by making the money available immediately.

However, at a recent public hearing held by the House Transportation
Committee, leaders of the state Highway Commission said the agency is not in
favor of the Senate-approved bill because it only targets the border area.
Commission officials said they were not opposed to using Garvee bonds, but
said the final legislation should include projects throughout the state.

Some trade groups also oppose the measure, saying building highway projects
with Garvee bonds would be more expensive in the long run because of the
additional cost of bond interest.

Supporters of the bill were encouraged by a similar program in neighboring
New Mexico, which was one of the first states to take advantage of the new
federal highway program. New Mexico plans to spend $295 million to widen a
121-mile long stretch of highway connecting Albuquerque and Farmington.

In Texas, the bill has received strong support from the state's new and
popular Comptroller, Carole Keeton Rylander, who said international trade is
vital to Texas' economy, with exports accounting for 14 percent of Texas'
gross state product, up from six percent in 1985.

She said Mexico was the state's most important trading partner, buying more
than 40 percent of its exports. Figures provided by Rylander's office show
$82 billion worth of goods crossed the Texas-Mexico border in 1997, or more
than $1.5 billion per week.

"This rapid expansion in trade has significantly strained our roads,"
Rylander said. "Bridges and highways along the border are choke points for
Texas trade. Our seriously clogged roadways are threatening the continued
expansion of our state's trade and future economic viability."

Rylander praised the passage of the bill in the state Senate but noted,
"Unfortunately, the fruit of this bipartisan effort is being challenged by a
selective few who are attempting to influence key decision makers in the
Texas House of Representatives."

Rylander said the existing highway spending equation allocates an average of
$109 a year per resident in highway maintenance and construction but channels
only $83 per capita to the border areas.

"Garvee bonds are an ideal way of dealing with an emergency, not unlike the
bonded prison construction program the legislature authorized several years
ago when Texas was in critical need of new prisons," Rylander said. "The
bonds, with current low interest rates, would give us the infrastructure
funds that we need to build quickly and at a relatively low cost."

Rylander said Garvee bonds would account for a small fraction of Texas' total
highway spending, would not count against the state's debt limit, and would
not tap general fund revenues

Yes that's right. And voluntary compliance from law abiding citizens.
 It

Gavin;

How soon do you think?

I don't know and neither do you. What we do know is that they had no

Gavin;
Nice tautology. Of course we know that they got them. You say it's impossible

  The vast majority of

North Korea Official To Visit China

By CHARLES HUTZLER
.c The Associated Press

BEIJING (AP) -- North Korea's No. 2 leader will travel to China next week for
the highest level visit since Beijing angered its once-close communist ally
by opening relations with rival South Korea seven years ago, diplomats said
Monday.

Kim Yong Nam, head of North Korea's Supreme People's Assembly and second in
the ruling Workers' Party only to reclusive leader Kim Jong Il, is expected
to bring a large delegation to Beijing for three days starting June 3, the
Asian and Western diplomats said on condition of anonymity.

China's Foreign Ministry confirmed that Kim would be coming, but would not
divulge the dates. It customarily announces the visits of foreign dignitaries
only a week before their arrival.

Kim's trip follows months of negotiations between Chinese and North Korean
officials to arrange an important visit that would symbolize improving
relations. Much of that work was geared to getting Kim Jong Il to come to
Beijing.

But North Korean officials changed tack in the last two months and offered
Kim Yong Nam as a substitute, the diplomats said.

Diplomats have speculated that with North Korea ruined by four years of
famine and the collapse of its centrally planned economy, Kim may also be
worried about being ousted by disaffected members of the party and military
while abroad.

Traveling with him will almost certainly be Foreign Minister Paek Nam Sun,
while senior military and foreign trade officials are likely to be included
as well, the diplomats said.

Perry's N.Korea visit seen key to Asia security

By Teruaki Ueno

TOKYO, May 25 (Reuters) - U.S. presidential envoy William Perry flew to
reclusive North Korea on Tuesday for a landmark three-day visit at a crucial
time for a Northeast Asia distressed by growing security concerns.

Perry, the highest-ranking U.S. official to visit the Stalinist state since
the 1950-53 Korean War, plans to complete his review of U.S. policy towards
unpredictable Pyongyang after meeting with North Korean leaders.

U.S. embassy officials in Tokyo said Perry, accompanied by State Department
counsellor Wendy Sherman, left a U.S. air base in the Tokyo suburbs by a
military plane. U.S. officials and politicians have travelled to Pyongyang
using military planes in the past.

Perry's trip followed meetings in Tokyo with Japanese and South Korean
officials to fine-tune their policies on Pyongyang.

Washington decided to rewrite its North Korea policy last December as
Pyongyang continued to pose military threats by adamantly refusing to abandon
its missile programme and clear up allegations that it may be reviving its
nuclear weapons ambitions.

The centrepiece in the relationship with the United States is a 1994 landmark
nuclear deal under which North Korea agreed to freeze its nuclear programmes
in return for help with safe nuclear power plants and free supplies of oil.

But Pyongyang angered Washington by developing long-range ballistic missiles,
selling missiles and missile technology abroad and embarking on underground
building work which the United States says could be part of a nuclear
programme.

The U.S. Central Intelligence Agency ranks North Korea as the world's biggest
exporter of ballistic missiles, and defence analysts say Pakistan, Iran, Iraq
and Syria are among the nations receiving them.

Perry, a former defence secretary, has said he was crafting a
``comprehensive'' approach towards North Korea. But Korea watchers believe
the U.S. package may comprise more stick than carrot.

Korea watchers in Tokyo say the key question is whether North Korea will
accept the new U.S. policy and allay international concerns over its military
threat.

Analysts say a possible rejection by Pyongyang of the U.S. policy could
sharply raise military tensions in the region and even spark a military
conflict between North Korea and the United States backed by its Asian
allies.

In a joint statement after a meeting on Monday in Tokyo, the United States,
Japan and South Korea said their approach towards North Korea should be
closely coordinated and urged Pyongyang to ``clearly'' understand their
respective and collective views.

Perry has said Washington, Seoul and Tokyo would need to act together to
protect themselves against the unpredictable Stalinist regime.

In an apparent effort to avert a possible military crisis, Perry hopes for a
meeting with Kim Jong-il, which would make him the first U.S. official to
meet the North Korean leader since he took over from his late father Kim
Il-sung in 1994.

In what analysts see as primarily a response to the potential North Korean
threat, the United States and Japan have forged their strongest-ever military
alliance and moved closer to jointly developing a multi-billion-dollar
missile defence system.

In the latest development, Japan's parliament on Monday enacted controversial
legislation aimed at strengthening defence ties with the United

"...the Year 2000 Computer Glitch, a lot of people still thought it was a
joke; a lot of hype to make people go out and buy new software. Today, no
one is laughing, least of all, the corporations and public entities that have
spent an estimated 200 billion dollars trying to fix the problem. Everyone
agrees that enormous progress has been made, that the computer glitch is not
going to mean the end of civilization as we know it. Now, the federal
government is comparing Y2k to a huge natural disaster, like an earthquake, a
hurricane or a tornado that disrupts people's lives for days, weeks or maybe
even months. The people who seem to be the least prepared are local
governments, and you may find that the computer bug hits hardest on the
street where you live."

KROFT NARRATION: "Local governments all across the country have become
dependent on computers and microprocessors to deliver services. They open
the valves at the waterworks, and handle 911 emergency calls, they send out
the tax bills, and print the welfare checks. They make the traffic lights
turn red and green, and all of those systems are potentially vulnerable to
the Y2k computer bug."

(TRANSITION FROM KROFT NARRATION TO KROFT ON-CAMERA IN FIELD WITH
WASHINGTON LANDMARK IN BACKGROUND)

KROFT: "And no city is more vulnerable than Washington, D.C. The Federal
Government's General Accounting Office has warned Congress that the Y2k
situation is so bad here, that the nation's Capitol may be unable to
effectively insure public safety, collect revenue, educate students or
provide health care services."

(TRANSITION FROM KROFT ON-CAMERA TO KROFT NARRATION)

KROFT: "No one is more aware of those problems than Mary Ellen Hanley (sp),
a top computer systems specialist who was hired by the District of Columbia,
to try and fix them. But when she took over last year, as Washington's Year
2000 Program Manager, she quickly discovered that there was no program, and
not much management."

 (INTERVIEW WITH HANLEY)

KROFT: "It sounds like you expected the worst."

 HANLEY: "I expected the worst."

KROFT NARRATION: "And she wasn't disappointed. 'Turns out, no one even had a
complete list of the departments and offices that make up Washington's local
government, let alone a list of the computers and software they use. She
quickly realized there was simply not enough time to make all the computers
Y2k compliant.

 (INTERVIEW WITH HANLEY)

KROFT: "You had no illusions that you could fix all of the problems by the
year 2000?"

 HANLEY: "Never. Never."

KROFT: "All of the critical systems?"

HANLEY: "We hope all of the critical systems, but we knew we would never fix
all of the systems of all of those 68 district agencies. No time."

KROFT: "Correct me if I'm wrong..."

 HANLEY: "O.K."

KROFT: "You're so far behind, the only way to deal with the problem is to
try and set up contingency plans, assuming things don't work."

HANLEY: "Contingency is prudent. It's a prudent methodology. "

KROFT NARRATION: "In most cases those contingency plans involve something
called manual work-arounds, which is exactly what it sounds like: going back
and doing things by hand, the way they were done before computers. When we
spoke, her office has just finished a plan for the Office of Tax and Revenue.

 (INTERVIEW WITH HANLEY)

HANLEY: "We're going after contingency in a way that will be very basic.
Say, if it had to be manual, we would have to develop a way to do that."

KROFT: "Pen, pencil and carbon paper?"

HANLEY: "Perhaps setting up centers around the city where people would come,
print out everything before January 1st, have it in place so that we can deal
with it, uh, be able to set up centers where people can come, find out and
check and verify taxes."

KROFT NARRATION: "For some welfare related programs, the kind Hanley
describes as getting checks out so kids can get fed, the contingency plans
are as simple as hiring a hall, renting tables and chairs, and drafting a few
hundred city workers from one department to write checks or keep records so
that another more critical department can be up and running."

 (INTERVIEW WITH HANLEY)

KROFT: "Obviously, if you have a lot of failures, you're not going to have
enough people."

 HANLEY: "Could happen."

KROFT: "In the testing process, have you had failures?"

HANLEY: "Uh, we have had, uh, some failures. Uh, principally in the area of
the District's payroll -- a subject very close to all our hearts who work
here in the District
-- uh, we had a failure date of December 18th, we were able to uh, find it,
we were able to fix it and test it and return it to production. We had a..."

"According to the sources, the directive was approved by the Politburo
on July 2, 1992 -- a year into U.S. President Bill Clinton's first term ..."

China's leaders ordered stepped-up espionage in 1992

WASHINGTON, May 24 (Kyodo) -- By: Paul Flatin China's top leadership in 1992
ordered its intelligence forces to increase espionage and counterespionage
efforts, apparently targeting the United States for economic, science and
technology information which could directly help build China's economy,
informed sources said Monday.

The disclosure was made on the eve of the public release of a U.S.
congressional report on alleged Chinese spying in the U.S.

In a 12-page directive, China's Communist Party Politburo ordered its
intelligence agencies to ''intensify overseas intelligence work in order to
provide the party and the state with high-quality information.''

The directive, a copy of which was obtained by Kyodo News, does not name any
particular country as the target of the espionage.

But the sources who provided Kyodo News with the document said the target is
naturally the U.S. because it is the sole superpower following the collapse
of the Cold War structure, and the country with the greatest pool of high
technology.

A U.S. congressional committee is currently investigating China's alleged
theft of U.S. military secrets -- including long-range missile technology and
data on advanced nuclear warheads -- over the past two decades.

The committee is set to release a 700-page report Tuesday.

Last week, Congressman Chris Cox, who is heading a team to compile the
report, implied that his investigation had uncovered similar official Chinese
documents indicating Beijing's policy on intelligence.

''We know about top government directives in these areas and discovered that
there were some overall plans by the Communist Party Politburo directing the
acquisition of military technology,'' the California Republican told Kyodo
News.

The directive also includes strengthening China's counterespionage effort
against foreign spies inside China in order to ''turn over and infiltrate the
sedition movement, leading to the timely destruction of the enemy's
conspiracy.''

According to the sources, the directive was approved by the Politburo on July
2, 1992 -- more than a year into U.S. President Bill Clinton's first term,
and three years after Jiang Zemin took over as general secretary of the
Chinese Communist Party.

It was distributed to senior party and military officials in September of the
same year, the sources said.

James Lilley, who was U.S. ambassador to China under the administration of
President George Bush, said the directive is very consistent with the Chinese
leadership's goals at that time.

''I think they had a long-term program of doing this, and that they
reinforced it in 1992...I'm surprised they even classified it,'' Lilley told
Kyodo News.

Lilley, who now serves as a political analyst for the American Enterprise
Institute, said that following the 1989 Tiananmen Square crackdown on
pro-democracy activists, the Communist Party Politburo was particularly
paranoid about ''counterrevolutionary'' forces from Hong Kong and Taiwan.

''I think they were somewhat shattered by Tiananmen (and) morale wasn't
particularly good,'' Lilley said. ''They had to give people a jump-start --
get them interested in going overseas and working on targets and stopping
subversion of China.''

Last week, Cox told reporters that despite widespread leaks to the media
about his committee's investigation, the final report contains much ''fresh
reading'' that details an extensive, on-going effort by Beijing to acquire
advanced U.S. technology over the past two decades.

''The PRC (Peoples' Republic of China) efforts are constant and their gains
are constantly incremental,'' Cox said. ''Every once in awhile, there is an
espionage coup in which (they) will obtain something from inside the U.S.''

UK Home Office Minister Jack Straw today introduced an insipid
freedom of information Bill to the nation.
It gives free reign to all government departments and further
protects the unaccountable security service from difficult
questions like - how much dope did they supply last year.
The worried consumer and tax payer may not be reassured to know
that the Bill is not worth the paper it is printed on.
The Bill supplies a clear mandate to a Totalitarian regime and
further tightens the screws in Death Star UK - the police Fortress.

Italy to Speed Up Secret Service Reform on Terrorism Fears

Rome, May 24 (Bloomberg) -- The Italian government is expected to pass a law
on Friday to reform the country's secret services, in an attempt to make them
more efficient after the killing of a government adviser last week raised
concern over a possible resurgence of terrorism in Italy, newspaper Corriere
della Sera reported.

There have been unsuccessful attempts over the last four years to reform the
secret services, which have been accused on several occasions of inefficiency
since they were divided into two entities in 1977, Corriere said.

Though a specific proposals has not yet been unveiled, the government plans
to unify the service's different branches under a single director, Corriere
said.

Last week the Red Brigades, a terrorist group that plunged Italy into chaos
two decades ago and was believed to have disappeared, claimed responsibility
for assassinating Massimo D'Antona, a government adviser and architect of
Italy's labor- management policies.

Bill Clinton was NOT president in 1992. This report is just wrong.

Clinton was elected [but not by me - I voted for Perot] in November
1992 and took office in January 1993. George Bush, the former CIA
director, was US president in July 1992, and was riding high in the
polls. If the Chinese *did* step-up their espionage efforts in mid-
1992, they would have anticipated dealing with a Bush administration.

The Reagan-Bush administrations were, judged by the number of suc-
cessful prosecutions, the most corrupt in US history, so the Chinese
would have expected to find it easy to grease palms for information.

Did the Chinese really steal significant nuclear secrets? If so,
what are appropriate responses? Nuke China? Execute all Chinese
nationals in the US, mainland and Taiwanese alike? Prosecute all
the relevant officials in the Clinton, Bush and Reagan gov'ts? Oh
that's right, most of the latter have already been prosecuted for
corruption... Burn down Washington DC? Sew the Ellipse with salt?

The genocidal wars waged against Native Americans by numerous US gov'ts
weren't 'declared' by Congress, are thus ALL unconstitutional; thus all
lands stolen from Native Americans should be returned forthwith, eh?

The alternative, that we accept the validity of what's been done, means
that we must accept the validity of ALL undeclared wars - ya can't have
it both ways. Be consistent - if current actions are wrong and should
be redressed, past actions were also wrong and should be corrected.

President Clinton has ordered our forces to engage an entrenched,
politically motivated enemy, backed by the Russians, on their home
ground, in a foreign civil war, in difficult terrain, with limited
military objectives, bombing restrictions, boundary and operational
restrictions, queasy allies, far across the ocean, with uncertain
goals, without prior consultation with congress, the potential for
escalation, while limiting the forces at his disposal, and the
majority of Americans opposed to or at least uncertain about the
value of the action being worth American lives.

So just what was it that he was opposed to in Vietnam?"

serious answer deleted

WJC's objection to the VietNam conflict revolved around the same
factor that I and so many others of our generation found disturbing:
the possibility of having our asses shot off for no good reason.
Wars are much more acceptable to more of the population if either
a) there are seemingly good reasons for the conflict, or if b) one's
ass isn't personally on the line. And it's easier to find reasons
to fight, to rationalize the fighting, when one is overage for active
military service. Need a reason to let someone else get their ass
shot off? Hey, no problem... Like Phil Ochs wrote is a song: It's
always the old who lead us to the wars / Always the young who fall.
Put the politico-military leaders/planners on the front lines, and
conflicts would end quickly, eh?

Then there's the stupidity factor: You've got to be pretty dumb to
allow a situation to reach a point where a fight, a war, IS seemingly
necessary. There are ALWAYS ways to avoid becoming directly involved
in protracted violence. So you have an intractable opponent, eh?
Bribe'em. Blackmail'em. Confuse'em. Trick'em. Distract'em Bribe
or trick or blackmail somebody ELSE to attack'em. Bribe, blackmail,
trick their friends to abandon'em. Or befriend'em, find common ground
with'em - if you can't beat'em, join'em, that sort of thing. Co-opt
or corrupt or assassinate or assimilate or befuddle your opposition.
Whenever you or your friends join battle, you've already lost.

PRELUDE TO THE NEW WORLD ORDER *

At the turn of the century an ambitious and morally degenerate group of
financiers and industrialists in America fixed upon a long-range plan
which would ultimately deliver control of the world’s people and
 resources into their hands.

The basic objective was to dismantle the Constitution of the United
States and erect in its place a world government covenant which the
 Financial/Industrial cartel would command.

The F/I cabala, to achieve this objective, adopted an operational
procedure of Infiltration, Subversion, and Rebellion aimed at the
religious, economic, and social disciplines of the existing order. By
massing their wealth and influence to secretly sponsor nihilistic
doctrine, it was thought that they might capture the intellectual
leadership of church and college. Domination of pulpit and professorial
chair, they reasoned, would lead to mastery of the entire
spiritual/educational process, the corruption of mass communication
media, and the creation of a fractured rudderless society which would
 serve their purposes.

Achieving political authority was an obvious prerequisite to success.
The cartel therefore, in 1912, forced a major penetration of the United
States political structure by elevating Woodrow Wilson to the
 Presidency.
Quick to capitalize on this advantage the cabala, in the closing days of
the 1913 Congress, affected passage of three legislative acts which
emasculated the Constitution and established a political power base for
 their operations. These acts were:
 a. the Sixteenth Amendment to the Constitution
 b. the Seventeenth Amendment to the Constitution
 c. the Federal Reserve Act

At one blow the cabala thus attained: a. Unlimited financing via
unlimited taxation, b. Control of the Congress by eliminating State
supervision of legislation, and c. Transfer of coinage from the Congress
to their private bank, The Federal Reserve System. Upon this
irresistible and unchallengeable base of power the cartel, in 1914,
established a “brain trust” which was to be shaped into an
instrumentality for global conquest. The organization was named THE
INQUIRY and was formed around a nucleus of members drawn from THE
INTERCOLLEGIATE SOCIETY, a socialist-oriented group of American
 intellectuals.

The Inquiry, visible structure of a covert operation, immediately began
recruiting and training an “intellectual elite” who, under the guidance
of their hidden sponsors, prepared the Covenant of the League of
Nations. The League of Nations was, of course, the long-sought world
 government covenant.

When the United States Senate refused to ratify the League of Nations
plan for a world government The Inquiry was reorganized and, in 1919,
named THE COUNCIL ON FOREIGN RELATIONS. (1) CFR headquarters remained
in New York City, financial center of the world. Twenty-six years were
to elapse before the F/I cabala, through its instrument The Council on
Foreign Relations, would reach its long-range goal of world government.

The propaganda climate generated during World War Two provided the
opportunity and, on July 28, 1945, a refurbished League of Nations
Covenant with a new title - The United Nations Charter - was ratified by
a subverted U.S. Senate and the Constitution of the United States passed
 into history.

In time an interlocking, international apparatus - an invisible
government of the world - was devised. Today these affiliated bodies
include the Royal Institute of International Affairs in England (which
was founded concurrently with the Council on Foreign Relations during a
dinner meeting in Paris in 1919), The Institute des Relations
Internationales in Belgium, The Danish Foreign Policy Society, The
Indian Council of World Affairs, and similar organizations in France,
 Italy, Yugoslavia, Greece and Turkey.

Though the world government apparatus comprises holding company after
holding company and proliferating agencies throughout the world, the
prime corporate structure in America, and the seat of power both public
and private, is The Council on Foreign Relations bolstered by vast funds
in tax-exempt foundations. Within this membership are found the
directors and principal agents of the financial/industrial cartel who
now exercise control over the executive, legislative, and judicial
agencies of the U.S. government, and who manipulate the United Nations
world government covenant to enforce their command over the world’s
 people and resources.

Having dissolved the United States of America as a sovereign nation, the

I wrote this once, then mistakenly deleted it in the process of attempting

all of you ISO'ers. It ain't gonna be pretty either.

What is the matter with all of you. Have you become so dumbed down, so
money jaded, so devoid of consience that you are incapable of reacting to
the wholesale thievery/sale of our highest national secrets to our greatest
future advisary?

Forget about my absolute distain and distrust for the current leadership of
our nation. Forget my political views. This is not about political
viewpoints. It is about the future of our children and their children.
Yes, our secrets have been stolen for the past several administrations...
there is no need to begin the finger pointing and blame game... there is
plenty to go around this time. This is not about national politics, it is
all about National Security!

Why is this important? Several reasons.

1. Allowing the loss to happen is criminal period! Doing so involves
negligence, greed, a lack of common sense loyalty to this country, replaced
instead by a sense of corporate loyalty and political expediency.
2. Allowing the loss may have involved deceit, lying and intentional
direliction of duty by some government officials.
3. Uncovering the facts are paramount to understanding what happened and
how to hopefully prevent it from happening again.
4. Accountability by those involved in allowing this to occur, is most
important. It must serve as a warning that this lack of attentiveness, or
irresponsibility, or possibly this act of disloyalty to America will be
dealt with harshly now, and in the future.
5. In order for all of the above to happen, we must happen first!

That means it's time to Wake Up ISO'ers, American Citizens. Smell the
manure! IT STINKS BADLY!

Don't you even begin to realize the extent to which our nation has been and
will continue to be harmed by the spying and selling of our national secrets
on nuclear and other technology to Communist China? If you don't then
SHAME! You are as direlict in your responsibility as an American Citizen as
the culprits who allowed this to happen.

Do you all realize that the secrets we practically handed to them over the
past 12 to 14 years (most of them in the past 7) will now put our nation's
future, your children's future to risk for decades to come? What the
Chinese Communists have obtained will allow them not in ten years, but in a
minimum of TWO years to build and deploy weapons identical to the most
sophisticated instruments of mass distruction on the planet today. And on
top of this, they have shown and continue to demonstrate the compunction to
share this technology with all sorts of irresponsible nations and factions
that help to serve China's intent to forment and influence world chaos

They will also have the ability to build and deploy the people killing but
building sparing Neutron Bomb, and Submarine and anti-submarine technology
identical to the latest in silent sub killers we now possess and undersea
missile capability married to a fully merved warhead capability that will
put at risk every square mile of American soil.

They also have obtained the latest lazer weapons technology that can
interrupt and even destroy the most sophisticated intelligence gathering and
interfere with the numerous commercial and privately owned satellites
currently in use. (Heavens forbid we lose the availability to see Jerry
Springer in any corner of the globe - (tongue in cheek)).

People this is frightening! It scares the holy hell out of me! If they

Gore unveils new religious agenda

By SANDRA SOBIERAJ

ATLANTA (May 25, 1999 9:12 a.m. EDT http://www.nandotimes.com) - In a "new
partnership" between church and state, a President Gore would "dare to
embrace" faith-based programs with public funds and set policy with
religious leaders at the table.

Such was the pledge Vice President Al Gore made Monday as he further fleshed
out an agenda for Campaign 2000 that he hopes will both set him apart from
President Clinton and bring him close enough to his opponents - chiefly
Republican George W. Bush and Democrat Bill Bradley - to neutralize any
"values" debate.

On Tuesday, he and Clinton appear together at an economic development
conference in Texas before Gore resumes campaign fund raising. Three events
Monday bagged him $600,000.

"The moment has come for Washington to catch up to the rest of America," the
congressman-turned-senator-turned-vice-president said in tones borrowed from
a Washington outsider.

"And Americans profoundly, rightly believe that politics and morality are
deeply interrelated."

Speaking at a Salvation Army drug rehabilitation center, Gore said places
like that and Christ House and Christian Women's Job Corps have some of the
most effective programs dealing with homelessness, addiction and mental
illness precisely because of their religious bent.

"To the workers in these organizations, that client is not a number but a
child of God," he said. "We should explore carefully tailored partnerships
with our faith community, so we can use the approaches that are working
best."

His plan essentially would expand conservative Republican Sen. John
Ashcroft's "charitable choice" provision of the 1996 welfare overhaul that
allowed government money to fund faith-based groups helping to move people
from welfare to work.

Gore was short on specifics - communications director Laura Quinn called it
a "broad idea" at this point - but he insisted no government-funded program
would "promote a religious view or try to force anyone to receive religion"
and that secular alternatives would be available.

Three times he said he believes in the separation of church and state.

But Terri Schroeder, a First Amendment legal analyst at the American Civil
Liberties Union, said Gore's plan raises troubling questions.

"How can a religious institution counsel without proselytizing? How can you
provide juvenile services without some level of coercion? How can we have
any accountability for how our money is spent given the traditional
separation of church and state?" Schroeder asked.

For Gore, the political benefit of religious talk is twofold: It sneaks some
ground out from under Republicans who have long dominated the morals debate;
and, less overtly, may serve to disassociate him from Clinton's personal
scandals.

"It's taken too long for candidate Gore to join Republicans in recognizing
the rightful role of churches and religious organizations in solving
society's most challenging and pressing problems," said Jim Nicholson,
chairman of the Republican National Committee. At the same time, he welcomed
Gore's "change of heart."

A senior policy adviser to Gore, Elaine Kamarck, told The Boston Globe over
the weekend, "The Democratic Party is going to take back God this time."

Aboard Air Force Two on Monday, vice presidential spokesman Chris Lehane
shook his head at Kamarck's candor. He refused to speak to the politics of
Gore's new emphasis on spirituality and rejected the notion that Republicans
have cornered the market on religious voters.

"I don't think God is partisan," Lehane said.

Beyond current-day political expedience, Gore can lay claim to a religious
and spiritual grounding. As a young man returning from Vietnam, he studied
at Vanderbilt's divinity school. And in his 1991 book, "Earth in the
Balance," Gore wrote of his "deeply personal" relationship with Christ.

Still, said Lehane, the vice president has never been someone to "wear God
on his sleeve" and doesn't plan to now that he's running for president.

On other questions of church and state, the vice president opposes organized
prayer in public schools during the school day, and he opposes using public
dollars to send children to parochial schools, Lehane said.

On Monday, Gore offered a pledge to the clergy and community activists
gathered at The Salvation Army: "If you elect me president, the voices of
faith-based organizations will be integral to the policies set forth in my
administration."

Cox Report: China Stole U.S. Nuclear Secrets

The Cox report released Tuesday claims that China's espionage over the past
decade has propelled them to a nuclear status equal to that of the U.S.

Fund-Raiser's Cover Stories
May Have Come From Chinese President
Updated 11.02 p.m. ET (0302 GMT) May 24, 1999 By Carl Cameron
WASHINGTON — Fox News has learned that cover stories provided by Chinese
operatives to hide China's illegal campaign contributions may have come from
or been approved by President Jiang Zemin. Transcripts of FBI wiretaps
obtained by Fox News also point to the possibility that President Clinton
may have known of both the illegal donations and what was to be said if they
were discovered.

Mark Wilson/Reuters

Congress was unaware Johnny Chung had been told above all else not to say
anything about Loral and Hughes

A great deal of China's illegal contributions to 1996 Democratic campaigns
passed through Johnny Chung, a Taiwan-born U.S. citizen who received
$300,000 from the head of Chinese military intelligence to be given to the
Democratic National Committee and Clinton's re-election campaign. When the
contributions were discovered, Chung was charged with making illegal
donations, and later pleaded guilty.

Chung last week told Congress he was under orders from the Chinese to keep
the whole thing quiet. His orders, he said, came from a suspected Chinese
intelligence operative named Robert Luu, who worked for a Los Angeles law
firm.

In a phone conversation tapped by the FBI, Chung was told by Luu to say the
campaign money came from the so-called princelings: Chinese leaders' grown
sons, who live, study and often live lavishly in the West.

A transcript of the wiretap, obtained by Fox News, contains the following:

Luu: "Shove the blame on the shoulders of the princelings."

Chung: "So blame it on the princelings. Do not implicate the Chinese
government."

Luu: "Yes. Chairman Jiang agreed to handle it like this; the president over
here also agreed."

Since both men were in the United States when the call occurred, those
words — "the president over here also agreed" — may indicate that President
Clinton and China's President Jiang Zemin had agreed on how to spin the
story if it got out.

The White House has strongly denied any such thing occurred.

Chung's contacts with Chinese intelligence were well known to Luu.

Chung's primary contact was Lt. Col. Liu Chaoying of the People's Liberation
Army. She arranged the meeting between Chung and Gen. Ji, chief of China's
military intelligence, who provided Chung with the money for campaign
donations.

Robert Luu told Chung never to tell investigators about two U.S. satellite
firms, Loral Space and Hughes Electronics, or their relationship with Liu
Chaoying who, as head of China Aerospace, the company that lofts American
satellites into orbit on Chinese rockets, had negotiated their Chinese
contracts.

Fox News has learned that Congress was unaware Johnny Chung had been told
above all else not to say anything about Loral and Hughes.

Loral and Hughes are currently under investigation for illegally helping
China improve its missile technology. Sources say China wanted to keep the
companies out of the scandal in order to protect its business arrangements
and ability to acquire U.S. technology.

Another former Clinton fund-raiser, Yah Lin "Charlie" Trie, has now also
pleaded guilty and agreed to cooperate with Justice Department
investigators. Sources say they have reason to suspect Trie also may have
been involved with Loral and Hughes and their export relationship with
China.

The Pentagon concluded two years ago that Loral and Hughes had harmed
national security by helping China improve its missile technology, but the
President kept letting the companies do business with China, signing waivers
allowing the two companies to export their satellites.

A series of launch failures, followed by the companies' unauthorized aid to
Chinese scientists investigating the rocket crashes, prompted a
congressional investigation, which on Tuesday will release its findings on
Chinese espionage.

[CTRL] thug reno defends decision not to wiretap red thug lee [waco witch under pressure to resign]

Reno Defends Decisions In China Spying Case

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Attorney General Janet Reno, under pressure to resign
over handling of alleged nuclear spying by China, Monday defended the
Justice Department's refusal to approve FBI requests for a wiretap of a
suspect at the Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico.

``The Justice Department has not -- nor will it -- authorize such intrusions
when, as in this case, the standards of the Constitution and the Foreign
Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) have not been met,'' Reno said in a
written statement.

A scientist from Los Alamos, Wen Ho Lee, was fired in March amid suspicions
he passed classified information to China. He has not been charged with any
crime.

Reno's statement also said that the FBI's 1997 request for surveillance of
Lee ``did not contain a request to search any computer.''

She said career Justice Department lawyers rejected the FBI's surveillance
request and that FBI Director Louis Freeh ''firmly believes that the
decision in this case was based on a principled analysis of the law and the
facts'' presented at the time.

China is accused of stealing U.S. information on nuclear weapons and
intelligence officials have said the data could be used to upgrade its
weapons arsenal. Beijing has denied the charges.

Republicans in Congress called for Reno to resign on the eve of the release
of a lengthy report by a special House committee detailing China's alleged
theft of nuclear and military secrets.

``I believe the Justice Department is adrift,'' said Republican Sen. Richard
Shelby, of Alabama, chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee. ``I
believe that the attorney general ought to resign and she ought to take her
top lieutenants with her.''

Even one staunch Democrat has suggested Reno ought to consider stepping
down. Sen. Robert Torricelli, of New Jersey said there was ``something wrong
when the United States Congress on a bipartisan basis has so little
confidence in the chief law enforcement officer of the United States.''

But White House spokesman Joe Lockhart said Monday President Clinton had
confidence in the attorney general ``and will continue to have confidence.''

Tuesday, a special House panel chaired by Republican Representative
Christopher Cox of California was to make public its report expected to
detail allegations that China stole U.S. nuclear weapons secrets over the
past decades.

Reno said she took ``very seriously'' the Justice Department's
responsibility to protect the national security. She has ordered an
investigation of the handling of the Lee case, which dates back to the early
1980s.

1999-05-25 Thread U.P. Secr

 -Caveat Lector-

ELECTRONIC SYSTEM FOR TRANSFER OF THE ECONOMIC AND POLITICAL
POWER TO THE PEOPLE

CONSUMERS OF ALL COUNTRIES, UNITE !

The peoples have no say.
All economic and political power is concentrated in the trans-
national corporations, their mass media monopoly and their
politicians.

And from their point of view people are only of interest

1. - as slave labour, only to be kept barely alive at minimum
existence level,
- this giving rise to the general class struggle -

but at the same time also

2. - as consumers to keep the profit machinery running at
maximum speed.
The great potential of this other more pleasant role of ours so
far has only been exploited to a very limited extent and only
for defensive purposes.

So let us expand the class struggle with exploiting this
potential in an OFFENSIVE strategy:

Let us utilize the contradictions existing within the robber
barons castle to our advantage and disarm their imperialist
struggle over markets and resources before it now once again
will lead to world war.

Let us utilize the fact that it is our money the robbers are
fighting over, and play the predators out against eachother,
before they succeed in completing the monopolization process.

Why should we always remain on the defensive although the
salesmen are completely dependent on our willingness to buy
their products !

GLOBALLY

the consumers' power may be utilized for internationalization
of the corporations.
This is the only strategy for saving our planet. It necessitates
the formation of the World Parliament of THE UNITED PEOPLES, cf.
http://www.unitedpeoples.net (under construction).

REGIONALLY and NATIONALLY

the consumers' power may be utilized for the people's takeover
of the ownership or part of the profits of national companies
and local corporate production and distribution enterprises.

In each country a United Peoples Party or, to start with, a
Consumers' Power Committee, "CPC", comprising progressive
mass organisations and NGOs, and approved by the world parliament,
is formed.

The CPC may comprise a group of neighbouring countries.

The analysis of the market and identification of the products
and enterprises to be targeted is carried out by progressive
professional economists / NGOs / students under the guidance
of the CPC.

The tasks of the members will be, as consumers, to buy,
respectively boycott continuously or for a specified period of
time the products pointed out by the CPC, and to motivate rest
of the population to do the same.

EXAMPLE :

Three enterprises, A, B and C, are selling almost identical
products and share the market as follows:

Shares of market:
   A B C
xx

Profits:
   A B C
xx

Depending on the market, the strength of the CPC, etc.,
each one of the enterprises is asked either

A) - if it is willing to turn over the ownership to the people
in case it is chosen as the only one to survive, the stockholders'
invested money to be paid back over a specified period of time,

  or

B) - how great share of its extra profits it will allot to the
people, if it is chosen as the only one or one of the few
enterprises whose products will not be boycotted.

If, for example, A and B bid highest, the CPC may choose to let
A and B share C's market and share C's profit with the people,
rather than let either A or B get complete monopoly:

Shares of market:
   A B
xx

Profits:
 AB CPC
xxxx xx

Everything of course will be based on a written agreement
beforehand.

ELECTRONIC SYSTEM FOR MOBILIZING THE CONSUMERS
AND DOCUMENTING THE NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS

1. A data base administered by the world parliament of the
united peoples, http://unitedpeoples.net

Until the first parliament has been elected, the organizers will
function as a provisional parliament.

The data base stores the digitized biometric fingerprints of
all of the participating consumers worldwide.

The documentation of the vast number af active consumers
enables the world parliament to lay pressure on the transnational
corporations for ecologic, economic and political purposes.

2. The CPC publishes addresses in all cities and towns where
registration of the interested consumers can take place, by
placing the tip of the forefinger on a newly developed biometric
sensor with a chip that within a second reads the sub-skin
structure of the unique fingerprint, cf.
http://dir.yahoo.com/Business_and_Economy/Companies/Security/
Identification_Systems/Fingerprinting/ and
http://homepages.ihug.co.nz/~tonycook/nzsdp/

Name, address or other identification of the participants is
unnecessary.

Furthermore, the fingerprints will be collected in shopping
centers and -

Actually, the highest percentage of shootings are drug MONEY related. End
drug prohabition and the profit motive ceases to be a factor in drug use,
the drug user's prime reason to recruit evaporates, as does the vast
overwhelming majority of all crimes. Before prohibition drug abuse was a
tiny percent of all recreational drug use and was only a problem for the
individual involved and for his doctor. It had no effect on the rest of
society. After prohibition came into effect drug abuse mushroomed, and
crime with it. The cost to society of prohibition has been enormous, and
nothing, NOTHING, has been gained. End it NOW.

[CTRL] Clinton Earning 'Frequent Liar Miles'

 Clinton Earning 'Frequent Liar Miles'

Our BNN Investigative team has uncovered evidence that a major U.S. air
carrier has been awarding President Clinton 'Frequent Liar Miles'. A unnamed
executive of this airlines told BNN, "The CEO of our company is good friends
with the President. When Clinton first took office in 92' he set up a special
account in the President's name. I discovered that every time the President
lies he is given credit toward free air travel. Clinton can redeem these
'Frequent Liar Miles' as soon as he leaves office."

When BNN asked how many miles the President had accrued we were told, "Let's
just say that Mr. Clinton will be able to fly First-Class for free for the
rest of his life."

Did the Chinese really steal significant nuclear secrets? If so,
what are appropriate responses? Nuke China? Execute all Chinese

the relevant officials in the Clinton, Bush and Reagan gov'ts? Oh
that's right, most of the latter have already been prosecuted for

How about no more Most Favored Nation trade status. How about telling
them to peddle their wares elsewhere. How about no more Red Chinese and
Russians scientists (operatives) in our military research facilities.

The Chinese may have placed us in the most vulnerable of situations,
and you just want economic and personnel sanctions imposed? Is that
proportionate to the damage? No, we've gotta nuke'em.

How about kicking out all Communists from this country.

How do you determine who's a Communist? Do you have a method for
reading minds? Do you distinguish between Red-Army Capitalists,
Maoist Collectivists, Anarcho-Syndicalists, Social Democrats, and
Rockerfeller Republicans? Would you cancel US citizenship?

How about supporting Taiwan as the only free China.

Well, it's getting there...

How about bringing to justice (for treason) all scientists, politicians
and US military officials who aided the Red Chinese in obtaining secret
 and top secret military information.

Review the constitutional definition of treason.

The Nature article said that despite their "armored car" build, the
Neanderthals became extinct because they failed to look after each other,
whereas their weaker cousins, the descendants of modern man, were more social
and were forced to depend on each other for survival.

And how do they figure that? From the copious diaries left? The high
divorce rate? One of the few ritualized grave sites found is
Neanderthal-- flowers left in the grave-- that would seem to indicate
community, or at least family social development.

There are many options for extinction-- interbreeding with Cro-Magnon
that produced sterile offspring, disease susceptibility, or just that
Humans did what Humans do best and wiped them out.

[CTRL] NATO Struggling to Keep United Front

1999-05-25 Thread Das GOAT

 -Caveat Lector-

"Greece and Italy, meanwhile, are lobbying for a pause in the bombing to
give Milosevic a period of calm to frame a reply to NATO's demands..."

Italy has found it necessary nudge, nudge to reorganize its
intelligence services under a more NATO-friendly spy czar due to "terrorism"
blamed on "Red Bridgades."
Greece, whose supreme court has charged NATO with "war crimes," can
expect
something similar in the near future ...
When the Godfather sez "jump," the capos better jump, or watch their
backs ...
Even among "allies," this is known as "diplomacy."

Germany, US Muffle NATO Differences

By BARRY SCHWEID
.c The Associated Press

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Muffling differences among the NATO allies on war
strategy, the United States and Germany concentrated today on planning a
peacekeeping force for Kosovo and the eventual return of ethnic Albanian
refugees to the Serbian province.

Publicly, at least, Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer said nothing at a joint
news conference with Secretary of State Madeleine Albright about Germany's
implacable opposition to employing ground troops against the Serbs -- an
option that Albright said is still on the table.

Instead, Fischer, whose government contains strong pacifist elements,
stressed the goal of overcoming the ``aggressive nationalism'' of Yugoslav
President Slobodan Milosevic with a NATO military victory. Otherwise, he
warned, Albanian nationalism could explode in the heavily Muslim
Kosovo-Bosnia-Montenegro triangular region.

``This policy of aggressive nationalism of Mr. Milosevic, rooted in the
1930s, must be stopped,'' Fischer said, with obvious reference to the German
nationalism of the period that precipitated World War II.

Albright said her meeting with Fischer concentrated on the ``unity of the
alliance'' amid demonstrations and other signs in Serbia that the people were
turning against Milosevic.

Albright also acknowledged that efforts to arrange a voluntary boycott of oil
shipments to Yugoslavia had only partially succeeded, although she said
NATO's airstrikes had sharply reduced Milosevic's supply. Albright said she
would talk to officials in Ukraine, where barges reportedly are filled with
oil to cross the Black Sea and sail up the Danube through Buglaria and
Romania.

Germany is making a public point of errant bomb targeting that embarrassed
the allies and touched off a furor with China after its embassy in Belgrade
was hit.

The Swiss ambassador's residence also was hit. Before flying here, Fischer
met with Swiss Foreign Minister Joseph Deiss in Bonn and said ``talks are
urgently needed'' on targeting.

The choice of NATO targets must ``more effectively avoid damaging civilian
targets,'' said German foreign ministry spokesman Martin Erdmann.

Germany has backed the air campaign strongly, but adamantly opposes sending
any ground troops. Britain, on the other hand, says ground troops should be
considered in an ``endgame'' strategy to rout weakened Serb forces from
Kosovo.

Albright is also meeting this week with two other foreign ministers --
Yeoryios Papandreou of Greece on Wednesday and Lloyd Axworthy of Canada on
Thursday.

Papandreou on Monday was in Beijing, where Chinese Foreign Minister Tang
Jiaxuan demanded that NATO stop the bombing before the U.N. Security Council
opens discussions on a political solution for Kosovo.

``They were very, very clear on the fact that they would not be able to vote
for a U.N. resolution if the bombing did not stop,'' Papandreou told
reporters shortly before leaving Beijing.

While this raised the prospect of a Chinese veto, Papandreou said China
wanted to play a constructive role in resolving the conflict.

Greece and Italy, meanwhile, are lobbying for a pause in the bombing to give
Milosevic a period of calm to frame a reply to NATO's demands. These include
the withdrawal of all Serb troops and paramilitary forces from Kosovo and the
return of refugees under the protection of NATO and other peacekeepers.

The United States also supports a suspension of airstrikes -- but only if
Yugoslavia accepts all NATO conditions for a settlement, said State
Department spokesman James P. Rubin.

He also reiterated Monday that the attack on the Chinese Embassy was
accidental, and said China would receive results of a formal review of the
bombing.

In Moscow, meanwhile, Russian mediator Viktor S. Chernomyrdin said he had
persuaded Western countries to permit Yugoslavia to leave some troops in
Kosovo as part of a settlement.

``It has taken two or three weeks to convince our counterparts -- the United
States and (other) NATO countries -- that while withdrawing the (Yugoslav)
troops, it's necessary to leave some of them behind,'' Chernomyrdin said
after talks with India's foreign minister, Jaswant Singh.

But the Yugoslav envoy to the United Nations, Vladislav Jovanovic, said in
New York that NATO troops had no moral right to enter his country after the
bombing. He warned that no one could

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Two grande dames of the conservative movement, Nancy
Reagan and Margaret Thatcher, are giving Sen. John McCain's presidential
campaign a boost.

In a note beginning ``My dear senator,'' the former British prime minister
praised McCain's speeches and writings on the conflict in Kosovo. ``I wanted
to write and tell you how much I admired and agreed with their contents,''
read the note released by McCain's GOP presidential campaign.

The Arizona senator has criticized President Clinton for ruling out the use
of ground troops in Yugoslavia.

Though she has not endorsed McCain, Thatcher wrote, ``I very much hope that
the wise and courageous leadership you are offering on this vital issue
impresses others in Washington as much as it impresses me.''

Nancy Reagan also has not endorsed McCain, though she did ask that the
senator accept an award Wednesday night on behalf of her husband. The
American Conservative Union will honor Reagan as the conservative of the

``I am honored and very grateful to have been asked to accept an award for

Thatcher, in my defense in the Balkans of the ideals they so ably advanced

Re: [CTRL] China Leaped When Clinton Elected Prez

1999-05-25 Thread Bob Stokes

 -Caveat Lector-

In a message dated 99-05-25 15:18:47 EDT, you write:

The Chinese may have placed us in the most vulnerable of situations,
and you just want economic and personnel sanctions imposed? Is that
proportionate to the damage? No, we've gotta nuke'em.

No need for that, they haven't attacked yet. MAD (mutual assured
destruction ) is crazy, but it worked for fifty years, kept us out of a
nuclear war anyway. Do you have a better idea? Clinton's policy is that if
we are attacked, we'll just take it to preserve our "security?"

How about kicking out all Communists from this country.

How do you determine who's a Communist? Do you have a method for
reading minds? Do you distinguish between Red-Army Capitalists,
Maoist Collectivists, Anarcho-Syndicalists, Social Democrats, and
Rockerfeller Republicans? Would you cancel US citizenship?

Citizens of Red China are Communists, citizens of Russia are Communists and
we should rid ourselves of them. American citizens who are Communists should
not be expelled from the country because they have the right to their own
political beliefs.

How about bringing to justice (for treason) all scientists, politicians
and US military officials who aided the Red Chinese in obtaining secret
  and top secret military information.

Review the constitutional definition of treason.
From the Constitution:
Section. 3.

Clause 1: Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying
War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and
Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of
two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court.

The Rosenbergs were executed after being convicted of treason for giving
secrets of the atomic bomb to Russia. Clinton, Bush etc. have given aid to
the enemy, helped them to get weapons of mass destruction to use against us.
We are talking about super computers, guidance systems, communications that
will be used to cause destruction. They have also obtained technology that
will enable them to make warheads smaller, thus able to travel farther ...
all the way to the US (not to mention multiple warheads).

Bob (McCarthy was correct) Stokes

Our good Hillary, caught on the cusp between psycho-history and
psycho-babble, was heard to remark to Larry King that the Milosevices
were looking to turn their inner tragedies out upon the Kosovars.

This about expresses the depth of our comprehension of what we have
been up to in Kosovo. What may be more to the point is not Milosevic's
personal pain, nor his wife's, but the identity he acquired as a young
Communist in a Yugoslav regime at odds with Stalin but nonetheless
profoundly influenced by the Soviet sense of virtue. The good Soviet
operator was a dedicated bureaucrat who could climb the greasy pole of
Party advancement skillfully enough to beat his fellow tigers.
Milosevic had to be one of the wiliest, toughest, most treacherous,
canny, tricky, ruthless, and resourceful human beings Madeleine
Albright had ever encountered. She, too, had climbed a greasy pole,
but it was as a hostess charming up the Beltway's A-list. That was no
mean feat either, but it hardly compares to the vertical rise of
Master Milosevic. We must face it. She was no match for him. Nor was
Clinton or William Cohen. Neither of them ever served in the Armed
 Forces.

Combat, for those who get into it, is about as strange and mysterious
an experience as first sex. To have, therefore, such men (plus
Madeleine Albright) functioning as our command trust for the Kosovo
campaign is analogous to asking a young fellow innocent of carnal
experience to become a marriage counselor. A genius could probably
 surmount the difficulty.

Army bases could house war refugees

By Géda Szamosi

May. 20, 1999 - Vol. VII, Is. 20

Six-party negotiations took place at the Foreign Ministry last week
regarding the problem of caring for the increasing number of Yugoslav
refugees arriving in Hungary.

The Migration Office has been lobbying to open three military bases
in southern Hungary to accommodate them.

Foreign Minister János Martonyi said after the meeting that it is
crucial not to lump the Kosovo crisis with the issue of ethnic
Hungarians living in Vojvodina.

Since news of the imminent arrival of 20 air tankers at Ferihegy and
27 jet fighters to the Taszár Nato base in southern Hungary, the
border traffic from Yugoslavia has been slowly increasing.

Customs officials last week reported 1,800 Yugoslavian refugees from
the Nato airstrikes, including 700 ethnic Hungarians, 600 Albanians,
350 Serbs and the rest from other ethnic backgrounds.

István Dobó, head of the Migration Office (MMH), said the influx has
not yet reached "flood" proportions.

However, he said many who had arrived on holiday or business could
run out of money and apply for refugee status.

The number of war refugees not yet officially registered who are
living in border camps or homeless shelters could be as high as
20,000 he said.

Most of them are Hungarians and Serbs.

The number of registered refugees at the three refugee camps operated
by MMH last week reached 2,500, approximately 1,300 of whom were
Yugoslavian citizens, Dobó said.

Their daily keep costs Ft800-1000 per day, he said.

Another 300 refugees are staying at temporary shelters operated by
border guard stations; the remaining war refugees were staying at
private places. Dobó said talks were underway to let the refugees
stay at three military bases in southern Hungary, one in Szeged, one
in Baja and one in Orosháza.

He added that substantial financial aid would be needed to furnish
the bases, as neither the Interior Ministry or the Prime Minister’s
Office has funds for such needs.

To open a shelter for 1,000 people, some Ft40 million ($17.5) would
be needed. Utilities and food would cost about Ft30 million ($13.5)
per month, Dobó said. Hungary was also facing the problem of helping
those trying to move on to Western countries.

Dobó said MMH was in direct contact with embassies in Budapest and
was doing everything possible to inform refugees about official
requirements to travel to the West.

The Hungarian Red Cross is helping to unite families, and finding
many missing refugees waiting for visas in the embassies of Germany,
Switzerland, Austria, Holland and the US.

Zsolt Lányi, deputy head of the junior coalition partner Independent

Living 'Like Cavemen' in Belgrade: No Water, No Electricity

By Steven Erlanger New York Times Service

BELGRADE - In the Belgrade suburb of Zemun on Monday, people were complaining that
even McDonald's did not have coffee, because there was no water and no electricity.

In Kovin, a small town in the northern province of Vojvodina, there was no power for
the air-raid sirens. So the populace was relying for warnings on the church bells,
which ring and pause in an imitation of the broken so
und of an air alert.

Branislav Grbic described with fury how he had to make a fireplace out of broken
bricks in his Belgrade courtyard to heat milk for his baby son and grill the chicken
in his freezer, before it spoiled.

''This is nearly the 21st century, and they force us to live like cavemen,'' he said.
''Slobo,'' he said, referring to President Slobodan Milosevic, ''has plenty of power
and water, and so does the army.''

After two months of bombing, which began March 24, the North Atlantic Treaty
Organization has now gone after Serbia's electricity and water supplies in a serious
way, using high-explosive bombs that are doing permanent da
mage to both systems, essential to modern civilian life.

People are buying up batteries and bottled water and are boiling eggs, when they have
electricity to do it, so they have something to eat in the long, dark, powerless
night, when the planes come again and anti-aircraft fi
re is the only light in the sky.

WAR POWERS VIOLATION TODAY?

WASHINGTON -- From all indications, today will mark the first time since
enactment of the 1973 War Powers Resolution that a President has openly
violated the termination requirements of that law.

Air strikes against Yugoslavia began on March 24. The House of
Representatives refused to give approval for the air war in a stunning tie
vote of 213 to 213 on April 28. Today (May 25) marks 60 days since
President Clinton gave Congress official notice. Under the War Powers
Resolution law, if the President does not have explicit authorization, he
has 60 days to "terminate any use" of forces.

Legal scholars Michael Ratner and Jules Lobel -- who litigated Dellums v.
Bush, the case that forced President Bush to obtain congressional authority
for the Gulf War in 1991 -- are currently representing Rep. Tom Campbell
(R.-Ca.) in Campbell v. Clinton, pending in Federal District Court for the
District of Columbia. A hearing is likely next week.

In a joint statement released today, Ratner and Lobel said: "The President

was violating the Constitution on the first day of the war; now amazingly
enough he becomes the first President ever to violate the termination
provision of the War Powers Resolution. Bombings and killings are being
carried out in our names, but without the consent of the American people
through their representatives. It's a very sad day. The imperial Presidency
has reappeared with a vengeance."

to... declare war..."

The War Powers Resolution: "Within sixty calender days after a report is
submitted... the President shall terminate any use of United States Armed
Forces... unless the Congress (1) has declared war or has enacted a specific
authorization for such use of United States Armed Forces, (2) has extended
by law such sixty-day period, or (3) is physically unable to meet as a
result of an armed attack upon the United States. Such sixty-day period
shall be extended for not more than an additional thirty days if the
President determines and certifies to Congress in writing that unavoidable
military necessity respecting the safety of United States Armed Forces
requires the continued use of such armed forces in the course of bringing
about a prompt removal of such forces."

In a strange week, the little is made large, and the large
minimized.

The United States Senate has decided to put a stop to
gunfire in schools. They have done this by requiring that
child locks be provided when new weapons of certain types
are sold, and that background checks of those purchasing
guns in some situations be made. Now, in America there are
and have been for a long time more guns than there are
people. After this law is passed, this will still be the
case. The existence of many guns in our country is old, but
this rash of the shootings in schools is new. Simple common
sense would suggest that we look elsewhere for the cause.

Many who object to these new controls on guns say that a
better method would be to regulate by some means what is
shown in movies. Violent movies--also common for a long
time--apparently are thought to be the cause of this rash
of shootings in schools.

Both these proposals have in common that they pay little
attention to the local and particular facts either in
Colorado or Georgia where the shootings have happened. They
also have in common that they propose to regulate the vast
majority of the people who had nothing to do with either
event and are never going to shoot anyone for any reason--
unless it be to defend themselves or other innocent
parties. They also have in common that they touch upon,
perhaps infringe upon, the first and second articles of the
Bill of Rights. The Bill of Rights is important.

Look for a moment at the facts in Colorado. There, two
young boys were permitted for a significant part of their
upbringing to live in a culture of torture and death. They
were permitted to run a little factory in their homes to
manufacture murderous weapons (which cannot be banned,
unless we ban pipes and fertilizer and ammonia). They were
permitted to keep weapons in their bedrooms without comment
from their parents. The principal of the school, who is
full of praise for himself and his colleagues for their
handling of the situation, did not notice that these two
young men were threatening their fellow students with death
and manifesting strange behavior constantly. The local
police did not respond to multiple warnings from neighbors
that these young men were dangerous.

We have some correspondence in our office from a parent
there in Littleton, a parent who had children in the school
on that day. He is astonished at how the school authorities
preen themselves on their fine work.

These local facts in Colorado suggest where the real
problems lie. Children cannot be raised by national
bureaucracies. They must be raised by people who know their
names. The best people to do this are their parents. After
that, the best are their teachers, and after them, the
principal, and after him, the local authorities. Most of
the people who occupied these particular stations in
Littleton are now being celebrated as heroes. Of course
they have suffered, and so sympathy is due to them. On the
other hand, without doubt they are the people nearest the
problem. Is it wrong to say that a father, a grown man,
should have exercised his power to forbid an adolescent to
make and keep weapons and to threaten his schoolmates with
death?

Even if we forget for the moment the purposes of the
Constitution and the limits it places upon government
action, we can still see that the solutions we are adopting
are no solutions at all. If we want to prevent our country
from becoming a barbarous place where no one is safe--and
where everyone is unarmed--we must work very hard to
restore the authority and responsibility of the family.
Nothing short of this will help, not even a little, and
some of the measures being enacted into law will actually
make the situation worse.

Bad government imposes a terrible cost. Right now in
America there is no party willing to address the real
problems before us. The leader of the day has abused his
overwhelming power in relation to a young girl barely of
age. He is no model for a situation like this. Those in
supposed opposition to him reverse themselves literally
from day-to-day in fear of opinion polls. If these people
will not do the duties they have assumed under the
Constitution, we should get new ones. Happily, there is an
election next year.

We must find the courage to look at the facts as they are.

Claremont Institute Senior Fellow Edward J. Erler has
written a fine op-ed, "A Modest Proposal on Gun Control,"
which brings a little sanity and clear thinking to the
question that grips the nation. I invite you to

 Section. 3.
Clause 1: Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying
War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and
Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony
of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court.

The Rosenbergs were executed after being convicted of treason for giving
secrets of the atomic bomb to Russia.

Were the Rosenbergs convicted of ESPIONAGE or TREASON? BTW Jefferson
Davis was indicted for treason, but not convicted. "Tokyo Rose" and
"Axis Sally" were both convicted of treason, and imprisoned. Treason
trials have been rare in the US since Aaron Burr, 1805.

Clinton, Bush etc. have given aid to the enemy, helped them to get
weapons of mass destruction to use against us.

IIRC a state of war usually must exist for treason can be committed -
or a state of international hysteria, like The Cold War. So if the
media whip up a popular frenzy, and/or Congress declares war on China,
THEN charges of treason can be brought, against... somebody? Clinton
just survived an impeachment attempt - will Congress go after him for
treason this year? As long as the economy looks to be thriving, will
there be any popular support for treason trials? Ya sure...

ANOTHER SCHOOL SHOOTER ON PRESCRIBED PSYCHOTROPIC

One month after the school shooting in Littleton,
CO, where the leader of the two dead gunmen was
on the mania-inducing drug Luvox, a youth on the
mania-inducing drug Ritalin went on a shooting
rampage at a high school in Conyers, Georgia. [1]

Ritalin, or methylphenidate, is a stimulant that,
along with methamphetamine, is classified by the
DEA as a Schedule III drug. [2] Ritalin makes
"overactive" kids more manageable and obedient.
However, in some cases Ritalin can induce mania

Research also shows that Ritalin can cause normal

"Methylphenidate induced a pattern of
information processing dysfunction similar

  While doctor-prescribed Ritalin use increased

"Some swallow [Ritalin] pills, while others

The Progressive Review
5/24/99 Sam Smith

There is a long tradition of those educated beyond their intelligence
believing that politics could be vastly improved if the annoying question of
consent of the governed were eliminated and matters left to people like
themselves. In this century, manifestations of this self-serving perversion
have included the early progressive movement with its government by experts,
the rise of government by foundation, and urban regionalization with its
transfer of power from elected officials to appointed technocrats. W.J.
Clinton and the other Third Wayers are out of the same mold, except that
instead of seeking to destroy a city's politics they apparently hope to
regionalize and de-democratize the whole globe. These are people, after all,
who believe firmly that they -- rather than any policy or program -- are the
solution to our problems.

This megalomania is rarely expressed directly but a recent article by Vaclav
Havel in that intellectual Leisure World for decaying liberals -- The New
York Review of Books -- comes close. Here are two excerpts of Havel's
defense of the war:

"In the next century I believe that most states will begin to change from
cultlike entities charged with emotion into far simpler and more civilized
entities, into less powerful and more rational administrative units that
will represent only one of the many complex and multileveled ways in which
our planetary society is organized."

"The practical responsibilities of the state -- its legal powers -- can only
devolve in two directions, downward or upward; downward, to the
nongovernmental organizations and structures of civil society; or upward, to
regional, transnational and global organizations."

Thus in a few paragraphs, Havel scraps democracy at every level of society
leaving us to be run, presumably, by business improvement districts and
NATO. It is a profoundly anti-democratic view, because at none of Havel's
levels is the consent of the governed considered. We are being asked, I
suppose, to scrap that "cultlike entity," the United States of America, for
that far more humane one run by General Wesley Clark.

Even the United Nations gets short-shrift in this new world order, which
should surprise no one observing the Clinton's regime's contempt for that
body. The UN -- unlike such independent, non-elected virtual empires such as
the World Bank, IMF and NATO -- at least is a controlled creature of
representative and non-representative governments. In Havel's vision --
clearly not his alone -- such control will be dispensed with.

In his new book, former UN Secretary General Boutros Boutros-Ghali describes
Madeleine Albright, that leader of the new world order. She seemed to have,
he writes, "little interest in the difficult diplomatic work of persuading
her foreign counterparts to go along with the positions of her government,
preferring to lecture or speak in declarative sentences, or simply to read
verbatim from her briefing books. She seemed to assume that her mere
assertion of a US policy should be sufficient to achieve the support of
other nations."

This is the not the way of a new humanitarianism but of old, pathological
imperialism. Hear now the extraordinary reaction to Boutros-Ghali's book by
Albright's flack James Rubin: "It was always unfortunate that Mr.
Boutros-Ghali did not have the skills to successfully manage the most
important relationship for any Secretary General, which is smooth
cooperation with the United States."

Such shameless and braggartly talk is the sort of thing that is leading the
Chinese, Russians and Indians to think in terms of countering empire. Thus
through the ignorant arrogance of the most small-minded, narcissistic, and
incompetent western leaders of our lifetime, we find ourselves once again in
grave danger of global catastrophe.

[CTRL] Army prepares for Y2K food crisis (fwd)

1999-05-25 Thread MICHAEL SPITZER

 -Caveat Lector-

Not for Commercial Use

   MONDAY MAY 24, 1999

   PANIC IN THE YEAR ZERO

   Army prepares
   for Y2K food crisis
   Undercover Special Forces
   operatives
   in distribution center

   By David M. Bresnahan
   © 1999 WorldNetDaily.com

Army Special Forces are engaged in a
secret operation to learn how to protect
food distribution centers in the event of a
   Y2K emergency or other disaster,
   according to witnesses.

Information which led to the discovery of
the undercover operation came from a
witness who worked in the presence of the
soldiers who are posing as security guards
and temporary workers at one of the
largest food distribution centers in the
   nation.

Soldiers are taking part in the exercise to
prepare for the possibility they could be
called on to protect food distribution
warehouses around the country if a Y2K
   disruption causes civil unrest. They
appear to be normal security guards and
workers to those who see them, so it was
difficult to find corroboration of the claim,
   which was first reported to
   WorldNetDaily in April.

The exercise began when the local
Teamsters went on strike against the
   Galaxy Logistics food distribution
warehouse at 1700 Elm Hill Pike,
   Nashville, Tenn. Temporary workers
were called in to keep the very large
   distribution center functioning. Galaxy
   Logistics handles food distribution for
   Kroger Company.

Galaxy Logistics Inc. is based in Toronto,
Canada. It was formed in 1998 and
   operates under Tibbett Britten Group
   North America. Galaxy acquired Kroger's
warehouse and entered into an exclusive,
   multi-year contract with the large
   international grocery company. Galaxy
took over the contracts of an estimated
470 Teamster employees when it acquired
the distribution center for an undisclosed
   amount in August 1998.

When the Teamsters went on strike at the
end of April, temporary workers were
called in to maintain operations. The
   temporary workers were actually brought
to work and received training at least four
days prior to the start of the strike. Picket
lines have been peaceful and consist of
only a few workers with signs, often as
   few as two.

AWF provides security for the large
facility and put some soldiers into their
company uniforms, enabling them to easily
observe and learn at a time when they
would not be easily detected, according to
a reliable Special Forces source who has
   worked with WorldNetDaily on other
   investigative reports.

"They need information and experience in
order to devise a plan to protect these
   facilities. It's simply a fact-finding
mission," the source explained after some
prompting. He was hesitant because this
operation is apparently not the only one
taking place, although he would not give
   further details.

"Ask me about something specific and I'll
see what I can tell you," he stated when
asked for locations of similar activities.

The soldiers are responding to orders to
be prepared to protect and support critical
facilities in the event of Y2K-related
disruptions. Undercover forces are in the
   process of gathering information about
those facilities now in order to have a
plan in place if it is needed. "You've got
   the picture," he confirmed.

   "Protection of food distribution centers
will be critical if it gets really bad.
People will be out of food within days,"
he explained. Although the Red Cross and
   the Federal Emergency Management
Agency have stated they are prepared to
move people to shelters within three to
five days of a Y2K disaster, the source
said the military believes it will take
   much longer and many people

Lawyer Confirms Georgia School Shooter On Ritalin

Tuesday, May 25, 1999

CONYERS, Ga. (Reuters) - A lawyer for a schoolboy who police say wounded
six classmates in a shooting rampage at a Georgia high school confirmed
Tuesday that he was taking the drug Ritalin, usually prescribed for
hyperactivity.

``He was taking Ritalin, that was the only medication he was under,''
Atlanta attorney Don Samuel said. ``We're going to be looking at that, but
we have no reason to believe that was (the cause).''

None of the six students hit in last Thursday's shooting at Heritage High
School in Conyers, Georgia, about 25 miles (40 km) east of Atlanta,
suffered life-threatening injuries.

Samuel, in an interview with NBC, said he believes accused shooter Thomas
``T.J.'' Solomon, may have suffered some kind of mental problem before he
opened fire last Thursday with two guns taken from his stepfather's locked
gun cabinet. He was reportedly distraught over the end of a high school
romance.

``It (the shooting) is not because he is evil, it's not because he's
malicious. Something went terribly wrong in his mind,'' Samuel said.

The boy has been charged with aggravated assault, cruelty to children,
possession of a firearm and taking weapons on to school grounds. Because he
is 15 years old, Solomon would face a maximum of five years in jail if
convicted as a juvenile.

Rockdale County District Attorney Richard Read, however, filed a court
motion Monday asking that Solomon be tried as an adult. The boy's lawyer
said he would fight that motion.

``He is a young boy, he is not an adult,'' Samuel said, adding that the
youth would get mental health care in a juvenile jail that may not be
available in a prison for adults.

``There was no anger, there was no hostility, there was no malice,'' the
lawyer said. ``He is everybody's next door neighbor.''

Solomon, who allegedly fired 14 shots inside the school, then put the
barrel of the revolver in his own mouth just outside the building.
Assistant principal Cecil Brinkley, who retires from a 40-year teaching
career Friday, convinced him to surrender.

The alleged shooter is being held on 24-hour suicide watch at a juvenile
jail in Lawrenceville, Georgia, about 20 miles (32 km) from where the
shooting occurred.
--
If the government ever tried to disarm the American people it would be open
season on feds, and many a gun owner would be disappointed because there
just aren't enough feds to go around.

MUTANT GM CROP EPIDEMIC SCARE.by Andrew Hennessey

please forward to NGO's and pressure groups so that legitimate lobby
on public health can begin on behalf of the many who suffer from this
toxic crop.

A Genetically engineered Oilseed Rape crop has become a local health hazard
around the Roslin Institute near Edinburgh.
Roslin, world famous for Dolly, Templars and Claims to descent from Christ
is now the centre of an epidemic scandal from a mutant crop out of control.
Impervious to powerful weedkillers, burning, and ploughing, nothing seems to
stop this persistent mutant from spreading to other farms, year after year.
It just grows back in and can't be killed said a local agricultural worker.
Heavy on toxic pollen, local bouts of an illness akin to hay fever but with
more physiologically damaging respiratory inflammation have hit the nearby
villages and towns. eg. Lasswade, Penicuik
There is widespread illness and medical reaction to the pollen.
A survey of local beekeepers suggest 3 out of every 4 local bees are dying.
Employees of the Roslin Institute - an area famous for Cloning experiments,
2 headed horses, brain dead cats and a rather large limepit to put the
'errors' in to, have been threatened about the disclosure - which has now
reached pressure groups locally.
There are 14 other sites of this mutant crop in central Scotland, and
as the European Union pays Scottish farmers subsidies to grow Oilseed rape
in Central Scotland - almost every farm has fields of the bright yellow
flowers, then the likelihood of this outbreak being contained to the locality
is low. If the bees cannot take the pollen, the wind will find an easy
task spreading the mutant pollen to other fields.
It looks like pressure groups are lining up to legally contest the medical
damage done by this menace - and yet another reason to ask the European
Union which has recently set up 2 new European Commissions
1. The Human Genetics Commission
2. Commission on Agricultire and the Environment

to intervene and put an end to the conspiracy of silence surrounding the
ill health of the towns and people around Roslin.

THE TIMES (LONDON)

MPs Demand Masonic List

BY JILL SHERMAN, WHITEHALL EDITOR

POLICE officers and judges who refuse to disclose whether they are
Freemasons should be publicly named, the all-party Home Affairs Select
Committee said yesterday.
The committee also suggested that allegations that Freemasonry could have
played a part in miscarriages of justice and other major scandals could not
be ruled out.

Although there was no proof, the MPs said that there were several cases,
including the so-called Stalker affair and the West Midlands Serious Crime
Squad scandal, where fears of improper Masonic influence "may well be
justified".

Both conclusions are contained in a hard-hitting report which accuses the
Home Office of dragging its feet over moves to draw up a voluntary register
of Freemasons among the police.

The report said that among stipendiary magistrates and judges asked to
declare whether they were Freemasons, more than 5 per cent either refused
to say or failed to reply to the request. Only 5 per cent admitted they
were Freemasons. Five per cent of lay magistrates admitted they were
Freemasons but more than 14 per cent did not answer the question.

The report said that on figures given, as many as 20 per cent of lay
magistrates could be Masons and up to 10 per cent of judges and stipendiary
magistrates.

A similar request among members of the Crown Prosecution Service was
answered by only just over half those polled, suggesting that the
proportion of Freemasons could be as high as 48 per cent.

Jack Straw, the Home Secretary, told the committee that police officers
were reluctant to participate because of concern that the information would
be made public. But the committee dismissed that concern and called for
public access unless there was a compelling reason to the contrary.

It said that, if necessary, legislation should be passed to force people to
sign the registers and to allow those who refused to take part to be
named.

be secret for a reason. Further only an idiot would say that China (RED
China) is not our sworn enemy. Which then brings up another point, just what
the hell are we giving so many good deals to the RED Chinese, when they are
IN FACT OUR ENEMY?!

I disagree with your assessment. Just because one thing is condoned does
not mean it should continue to be condoned. I believe that all lands stolen

returning them is simply ridiculous. Just because something was condoned in
the past in this regard does not mena that steps should not be taken to
rectify the situation. Bad laws are changed all the time when it is realized
that they cause more harm than good (or vice versa if you are a despotic

needs to be done, there comes a point when it should be condoned no more.

The problem is not in the idea of evolution. I think that it is more or less
a proven fact. The problem with how this issue polarizes people is the
unwillingness of Materialists (which most scientists and most defenders of
Darwinian [only the fittest survive] evolution are) to allow for anything
that does not fit their paradigm, i.e., non-materiality, spirituality, etc.
The same is true for "true believers" and others of less ideological bent who
refuse to accept ANY amount of evolution and do not recognize it as a
function in nature. There should be room for both. I have no problem
accepting evolution in some fashion (the exact actions and functions and
extent thereof is still open to much debate) and allowing room for a
non-materiality in the universe as well, hence my interests in the paranormal
which has no counterpart in Material Rationalism.

[CTRL] Witness at Columbine coerced after interview

1999-05-25 Thread Teo One Thousand

From another list.
Teo1000

When reading remember how the government treats eyewitness testimony,
especially in the TWA800 affair, and apparently this one as well. ALL

who see something else ARE JUST PLAIN WRONG, or delusional, mistaken, a

Gotta love that gubmint. . .

WITNESS PRESSURED BY AUTHORITIES
 AFTER STATEMENTS PUBLISHED!!

(NOTICE-PLEASE DO NOT PHONE THE WISHER FAMILY!)

Seattle radio talk-show host Mike Webb (710AM/KIRO) and myself devoted over
an hourto the many troubling inconsistencies, peculiarities, indications of
coverup regarding the Columbine tragedy and possible reasons for such on his
show of 5/20/99.

Webb had talked with Wisher himself prior to my conversation--described
 below--with Chris's mother on 5/19/99.

Of particular concern in what Mike Webb relayed on the air was the following
statement: that Chris had told Webb during their talk that subsequent to
the publication of my original interview with Chris on 5/7/99, he was
questioned again by investigators, who found it desirable to "help" Chris
"understand that it may have been ONLY HARRIS AND KLEBOLD" he witnessed, and
that he could have been confused and disoriented by the situation!

How INTERESTING investigators made such a pointed effort to rearrange,
distort and otherwise tamper with Chris's recollections AFTER publication of
the interview with him! It should be noted as well that Chris's own mother
stated that a GREAT NUMBER of Columbine students are aware that a MANY other
perpetrators were involved in the mayhem at the school.

I can prove through phone records and my recordings that I have talked
with occupants of the Wisher household on 6 different occasions. Two of these
times I talked with Chris, the first time for abut 40 minutes. What Chris
said is what he said. He's the witness, not me.

On 5/19/99 I talked to Chris Wisher's mother. Although a bit upset
that my Internet article has generated a lot of phone inquiries to their
house, she did spend about 15 minutes talking. She told me MANY of the kids
from Columbine saw other people with weapons. She also told me that some of
these kids just can't and won't go back to school because some of the people
who were shooting are indeed there, back in school.

She confirmed every major point Chris told me. She told me that many,
probably a HUNDRED or more, Columbine students witnessed other gunmen in the
assault and that MANY of these will not go back to class because some of
these assailants are back in school.

Unlike myself, she feels that with so many eyewitnesses to other assailants
there is no way the police would be able to pull off a coverup, regardless of
the reasons for doing so (we didn't really get into that). I hope she's
right. I myself am not so sure, based on the most recent statements from
investigators.

Mrs. Wisher also said she had personal knowledge that a female student was
pressured into changing her testimony by Sheriff's Dep't. investigators.

Unfortunately I was NOT aware at the time of our conversation that HER SON
had been re-contacted by investigators and subjected to THE SAME TACTICS! I
doubt if she was aware of this either.

Why are the cops trying to get students to change what they're saying about
what happened? She didn't have an answer to that, but I do.

Because if you put together the fact that there undeniably WERE so many
other people involved, plus things like how other perpetrators GET AWAY; and
get AWAY WITH IT?!, you can only come up with one logical conclusion.

That the at least SOME of the other people involved were NOT even students,
but people connected to the covert (of COURSE!) government.

House Intelligence Committee Holds Surprise Closed Door Hearings on CIA and
Drugs in Los Angeles

Maxine Waters denied admission after written request

PENDING H.U.D. SCANDAL C0NNECTING CIA TO SOUTH CENTRAL MAY HAVE PROMPTED
SURPRISE MOVE

Tuesday, May 25, 1999 - 1450 PST

In a move which still has many leaders on both coasts reeling from its
suddenness, the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI)
today held closed door hearings, "on allegations that the CIA is involved in
drug trafficking in California." A posting announcing the hearings was
placed on a Congressional web site directory announcing upcoming events
sometime late Friday and was not noted by Congressional staffers until
Monday or Tuesday.

Maxine Waters (D), California, who has been an outspoken critic of CIA
involvement was not notified directly and her staff did not catch the
announcement until sometime on Monday, according to sources in the
Congresswoman's DC office. A source in Waters' office told From The
Wilderness, "We sent a letter requesting that the Congresswoman be admitted
to the hearings over by messenger this morning. The request was denied."

Waters, who has been in the forefront on the issue has received both
criticism and praise for her handling of the issue in recent months.
Appearing at a private fund raising event for tribunals held by the
Institute for Policy Studies at USC this past weekend, Waters discussed her
recent efforts on the subject. These included the passage of an amendment
she had written for the Intelligence Appropriations Measure (HR 1555) which
prohibits CIA from engaging in drug trafficking.

The wording of the HPSCI announcement, however, leaves many confused as to
the exact subject of the hearings. The only pending hearings in HPSCI are on
the subject of Volume II which is not about Los Angeles but about CIA Contra
involvement throughout the Contra war - all over the hemisphere. The Los
Angeles connection to CIA/Contra activities was discussed in an open door
session in Washington on March 16, 1998 and was focused on the contents of
Volume I of a CIA Inspector General report prepared by retired CIA Inspector
General Fredrick P. Hitz in 1997.

When questioned, a receptionist at HPSCI stated this afternoon that she did
not know whether today's hearings were on Volume II or not. She stated that
all staffers were inside the hearings and that no one was available to
provide any further information at the moment.

A POSSIBLE EXPLANATION

The Institute for Policy Studies (IPS), a Washington, D.C. based think-tank
held public hearings on Drug Policy at the University of California on
Saturday and Sunday May 22 23. The tribunals, attended by the academic and
journalistic "Who's Who" of CIA and drugs, were well publicized in advance.
This writer attended those tribunals and found them enormously useful but
not revelatory in terms of breaking news. A private fundraiser was held
Saturday night at which Maxine Waters spoke of her recent efforts. In a
conversation with this writer it was apparent the she had no hint of today's
hearings.

NOTE: Recent articles by this writer, connecting Volume II to the
Impeachment of Bill Clinton, did not soften the public relationship of this
writer and Waters who publicly embraced me and openly acknowledged my work
at the fundraiser. I really believe that, within the realities of the
system, Maxine wants to find and answer. - MCR]

The day before the tribunals however, at USC, From The Wilderness and former
Bush Assistant Secretary of Housing, Catherine Austin Fitts, released an
exclusive article connecting CIA drug trafficking in South Central Los
Angeles to HUD mortgage defaults and apparent ethnic cleansing in Los
Angeles. The Friday night press conference was attended by CNN and The L.A.
WEEKLY newspaper. Advance copies of Fitts' article in From The Wilderness
were distributed to at least one member of Congress and two news
organizations on Wednesday and Thursday.

The substance of Fitts' article was to produce documentary evidence showing
a clearly traceable pattern of HUD backed mortgage defaults in the heart of
South Central Los Angeles and to connect that data to the revelations that
the CIA had been connected to LA crack cocaine kingpin Ricky Ross. Fitts,
fired by Housing Secretary Jack Kemp in 1990, had become a hugely successful
investment banker in 1996 working with HUD Secretary Henry Cisneros to
auction defaulted mortgages into the private sector.

Fitts attended the IPS tribunals with this writer on Saturday and spoke
directly with Maxine Waters at the fundraiser on Saturday evening.

It was because of data bases developed by Fitts' firm, Hamilton, in 1996
that Fitts now believes she was

NEW GORE PROPOSAL IS A LOSE-LOSE
 FOR THE CONSTITUTION, PFAW WARNS

A newly announced proposal by presidential hopeful Al Gore would
undermine the First Amendment by entangling government in the
operations of churches, People For the American Way warned today.

The proposal, which Gore announced his support for yesterday,
parallels a measure introduced last year by Republican Senator John
Ashcroft. It would authorize the payment of federal dollars to
churches that provide social services such as drug and alcohol
 counseling.

In a letter to the candidate, People For the American Way's
President Carole Shields expressed disappointment at Gore's decision
to back a proposal that poses considerable danger to both the
Constitution and to churches that might seek to receive government
 funds.

"What you are proposing is a constitutional lose-lose situation,"
Shields wrote. "This proposal will go wrong either way -- either it
will undermine the Constitution by supporting the practice of
religion or it will undermine the churches' freedom by imposing
 limits on religious expression."

The government currently gives support to religiously affiliated
organizations such as Catholic and Jewish relief agencies that are
separate from the churches or synagogues themselves. The Ashcroft
measure which Gore has now embraced would channel tax dollars
directly to churches whose overriding purpose is the observance and
promotion of a particular religious faith.

Shields letter also chided Gore for distorting the position and good
faith of people who oppose the use of public dollars for religious
 purposes.

"Caricaturing opposition to this measure as 'hollow secularism' --
including religious leaders from all across the spectrum of faiths --
adds heat but no light to a serious debate that involves our most
fundamental rights," Shields wrote. "Such divisive rhetoric is
unworthy of this debate and undeserved by people who are wrestling
with these issues in good faith."

[CTRL] klintoon to receive merit? increase in pay to #400,00 [crime pays??]

Congress considers a presidential pay raise
Chief executive's salary has not increased in 30 years

May 24, 1999
Web posted at: 6:30 p.m. EDT (2230 GMT)

WASHINGTON (May 24) -- A House panel looking into the first presidential pay
raise in 30 years was urged by a group of former presidential advisers
Monday to at least double the chief executive's annual salary to $400,000 or
more.

House legislation to double the current presidential salary of $200,000
would first apply to President Bill Clinton's successor in January 2001. The
provision has been included in a $13.7 billion spending bill for the
Treasury, White House and other agencies approved by a House Appropriations
subcommittee.

Presidential pay raise history
September 24, 1789 $ 25,000 salary
March 3, 1873 $ 50,000 salary
March 4, 1909 $ 75,000 salary
January 19, 1949 $100,000 salary
$ 50,000 expense account
January 20, 1969 $200,000 salary
$ 50,000 expense account
Another House subcommittee held hearings on the matter Monday. They heard
from seven former top presidential aides, representatives of think tanks and
private specialists in executive compensation who nearly all said the
proposed salary increase was justified and overdue.

"This is not even a close call," Kenneth Duberstein, President Reagan's
chief of staff from 1988 to 1989, told a House Government Reform
subcommittee. "This needs to be addressed now. It is a case of simple
equity."

The measure has the bipartisan support of Republicans congressional leaders
and the Clinton Administration.

The last time the president's pay was adjusted as in 1969. One reason for
raising the president's salary: other officials, like the chief justice, get
annual cost of living increases and in a few years, they'd wind up making
more than the president.

If the current $200,000 had been adjusted annually for inflation as measured
by the consumer price index, it would now be $923,000, said Jane Weizmann,
senior consultant for Watson Wyatt Worldwide, a human resources consulting
firm.

Freezing the salary at $200,000 has caused "pay compression," the witnesses
told lawmakers Monday, meaning other top federal salaries are being held
down for fear of surpassing the president's. This has created recruiting
problems because talented people could make more money in the private
sector, said the witnesses.

The first Congress voted to pay George Washington, the first president,
$25,000 a year, which was a lot of money back then. Washington, a successful
man, didn't take the money.

The salary went up to $50,000 for Ulysses Grant's second term, making him
one of the world's best paid heads of state at the time. William Howard Taft
was in office in 1909 when figure was raised another $25,000 to $75,000.

The salary was raised to $100,000 during Harry Truman's second term and a
$50,000 expense account was also established. Congress last raised the pay
to $200,000, with the amount allotted for expenses holding still; Richard
Nixon, in his second term, was the first beneficiary, and the salary has sat
there ever since.

Of course, presidents get other perks, like classy public housing. But they
pay for food and drink; Thomas Jefferson left the White house in debt,
having spent $10,000 just on wine.

Presidents get an airplane to travel in, and on top of their expense account
they have an entertainment allowance. And the pension is good: the same as a
cabinet officer's salary, just over $148,000 a year.

Do U.S. presidents need the money? Well, some, like Franklin Roosevelt, came
to office rich, but others, like Truman, did not. Only one, aside from
Washington, ever refused to accept a salary: John Kennedy.

CNN's Bruce Morton and The Associated Press contributed to this report.

1999-05-25 Thread Peter L. Sroufe

 -Caveat Lector-

four simple categories of thugs:

The Thug Immortal is the largest kind of thug. They tend to do thuggish
deeds regardless circumstances. They tend to have bank, and their actions
tend to be for the sheer pleasure of being a thug. They've been caught and
don't care. Books tend to be written about these individuals both while
living and not. It is a small wonder that they are still alive, not still in
prison, or that haven't had to rescind their office.

The Thug Outlaw has not been caught or their full potential as thugs has not
been realized. They enjoy their thuggish nature, but these thugs tend to not
have the bank that could enable them to be Thugs Immortal. They can still be
weighed down by their public appearances and contacts.

The third type of thug is the Pretty Thug. These thugs tend to be young,
broke, and unskilled in the art of manipulating their environments, but they
do have the drive and potential to become Outlaw or Immortal thugs. They've
done some thuggish things, but haven't followed up. The power that they do
have tends to be wasted on small concepts, simply because they don't know
how to attain bigger and better things.

Last and the least of thugs are the Petty Thugs. They are pretenders that
are merely pawns in the large scheme of things. They have no real power, and
have no clue of what the large scheme of things. They enjoy the thought of
being a thug without actually attaining it. Their lives are filled with
rumor and speculation.

Seeds Of Discontent

While many families have been left without an income, harvests are at
risk and some local authorities are breaking ranks with Belgrade to
impose war-time rationing.

By a journalist in Novi Sad

After two months of NATO bombing, the daily struggle of most Serbs to
put food on the table has become so severe even the regime media has
had to acknowledge it.

A recent issue of the Belgrade daily Glas Javnosti focused on the
fortunes of the Petrovic family from Lenin Boulevard in New Belgrade.
Although all four members work--the father is an engineer, the mother
a teacher, and the two children combine studies with menial jobs--
they are forced to borrow money towards the end of every month just
to meet their food bill.

If the Petrovic's--with their four pay packets--are struggling to
make ends meet, conditions for the bulk of the population are even
more difficult. The average monthly income for those in work is about
1,000 dinars (100 German Marks), and many families are without a
single breadwinner.

With no sign of an early end to NATO's air campaign, many analysts
fear that conditions will deteriorate in the coming months to such an
extent that hunger could effect vulnerable sections of Serbian
society by late autumn.

In an effort to head off food supply problems, authorities in Nis,
Serbia's third city, and elsewhere, have introduced rationing--moves
which Belgrade deems unnecessary.

"The decision of some towns in Serbia concerning the provision of
foodstuffs by means of coupons is illegal and their withdrawal has
been ordered," says Serbian Trade Minister Zoran Krstic.

He claims that food supplies are much as before the war and that
shortages of sugar, cooking oil, rice and other basic commodities are
temporary, caused by unnecessary hoarding.

Whatever the case, shops in much of the country now lack many
essential products and the black market is thriving. Moreover, the
availability of food will worsen if this year's harvest is poor.

Publicly, government officials remain optimistic. Vojvodina Prime
Minister Bosko Perosevic boasts that 97 per cent of arable land in
his province, Yugoslavia's breadbasket which produces between 80 and
90 per cent of the country's agricultural products, has been
successfully sowed "despite NATO aggression".

"Yields of wheat will reach roughly the same level as the average in
recent years," he says. "And the barley yield is expected to be
greater than in previous years." With equal optimism, Perosevic also
forecasts good harvests for corn, sunflower and sugar beat.

Federal Agriculture Minister Nedeljko Sipovac goes further,
insisting, "We have a sure and secured supply for citizens of food,
meat, milk and their products, as well as a surplus of these products
for export."

Agricultural experts do not share the politicians' optimism. They
fear catastrophically low yields in Vojvodina's farms this year. If
their prognoses prove accurate, this could seriously threaten the
supply of food for the Serbian market.

Even before the NATO bombing campaign, Milorad Rajic, a leading
farming expert, had warned that this year's harvest would be poor
because of poor preparations for the spring sowing. He says that
farmers failed to plough their fields properly in the winter, did not
have sufficient money to buy seeds, were unable to acquire sufficient
fuel and artificial fertilisers, and did not have adequate machinery
and spare parts.

Although Vojvodina's soil is exceptionally fertile, lack of
investment during the past decade has caused yields to fall. The
average age of tractors, combine harvesters and other farming
machines is more than 15 years. Many are no longer operational and
only kept for spare parts. Most farmers are so impoverished that they
cannot afford to buy necessary parts, let alone new machines.

As a result, Vojvodina now generates just three-and-a-half tonnes of
wheat per hectare, compared with more than five tonnes in Hungary,
seven in the United Kingdom and eight in the Netherlands.

Ljiljana Vasic, president of the Alliance of Co-operatives of
Vojvodina, said on the eve of the sowing that she fears that Serbia
will soon have to import not only sugar and cooking oil, but also
wheat and corn. She warned that yields of agricultural products in
Vojvodina have dropped to 1965 levels.

Since the NATO bombing, farmers have required coupons for fuel. In
April, they were entitled to 8 litres of fuel for each hectare; in
May only 4 litres. They say that with so little fuel they can hardly
reach their farms, let alone work on them.

Wheat harvesting should begin in about a month's time. However,
without an end to the war and additional fuel supplies, much of the
wheat will likely stay in the fields and rot. Even if conditions do
improve and there is a peace agreement, there are not enough working
combine harvesters to complete the harvest.

A "Military Target" to Bill Clinton, Like the Word "Sex" and "Is" Has
Been Redefined

By: Mary Mostert, Analyst, Original Sources

May 25, 1999

Each day I try to analyze and make sense of the day's news. Folks,
it's getting harder with every passing day. Today is going to be an
incredible day. First, this is the 63rd day that President William
Clinton has sent American bombers over Yugoslavia to, he says, bomb
military targets. A "military target" to Bill Clinton, like the word
"sex" and the word "is" has been redefined. It no longer means a
military target. In Clintonspeak it now is the water and electrical
supply for a nation's civilians.

Does Clinton realize that the Yugoslav Army Command is in underground
bunkers which are not dependent upon the civilian electrical and
water system? Of course he does. He merely has redefined "military
target" so that the civilians killed, 30% of whom are babies and
children, are now "military targets."

Yesterday I posted a copy of the War Powers Act, which points out
that "It is the purpose of this chapter to fulfill the intent of the
framers of the Constitution of the United States and insure that the
collective judgment of both the Congress and the President will apply
to the introduction of United States Armed Forces into hostilities,
or into situations where imminent involvement in hostilities is
clearly indicated by the circumstances, and to the continued use of
such forces in hostilities or in such situations.
* (b) Congressional legislative power under necessary and proper
clause
Under article I, section 8, of the Constitution, it is specifically
provided that the Congress shall have the power to make all laws
necessary and proper for carrying into execution, not only its own
powers but also all other powers vested by the Constitution in the
Government of the United States, or in any department or officer
hereof.
* (c) Presidential executive power as Commander-in-Chief; limitation
The constitutional powers of the President as Commander-in-Chief to
introduce United States Armed Forces into hostilities, or into
situations where imminent involvement in hostilities is clearly
indicated by the circumstances, are exercised only pursuant to (1) a
declaration of war, (2) specific statutory authorization, or (3) a
national emergency created by attack upon the United States, its
territories or possessions, or its armed forces.
Sec. 1542. Consultation; initial and regular consultations
The President in every possible instance shall consult with Congress
before introducing United States Armed Forces into hostilities or
into situations where imminent involvement in hostilities is clearly
indicated by the circumstances, and after every such introduction
shall consult regularly with the Congress until United States Armed
Forces are no longer engaged in hostilities or have been removed from
such situations.

Among all the other national and international laws Bill Clinton has
broken, the War Powers Act is now about to be called upon by twenty-
five members of Congress, led by Rep. Tom Campbell (R-CA).
Sec. 1544. Congressional action
* (a) Transmittal of report and referral to Congressional committees;
joint request for convening Congress
Each report submitted pursuant to section 1543 (a)(1) of this title
shall be transmitted to the Speaker of the House of Representatives
and to the President pro tempore of the Senate on the same calendar
day. Each report so transmitted shall be referred to the Committee on
Foreign Affairs of the House of Representatives and to the Committee
on Foreign Relations of the Senate for appropriate action. If, when
the report is transmitted, the Congress has adjourned sine die or has
adjourned for any period in excess of three calendar days, the
Speaker of the House of Representatives and the President pro tempore
of the Senate, if they deem it advisable (or if petitioned by at
least 30 percent of the membership of their respective Houses) shall
jointly request the President to convene Congress in order that it
may consider the report and take appropriate action pursuant to this
section.
* (b) Termination of use of United States Armed Forces; exceptions;
extension period
Within sixty calendar days after a report is submitted or is required
to be submitted pursuant to section 1543(a)(1) of this title,
whichever is earlier, the President shall terminate any use of United
States Armed Forces with respect to which such report was submitted
(or required to be submitted), unless the Congress (1) has declared
war or has enacted a specific authorization for such use of United
States Armed Forces, (2) has extended by law such sixty-day period,

Why is Turkey supporting the war against Serbia?

By Justus Leicht
26 May 1999

Back to screen version

Turkey has made its military air facilities available to NATO for the
alliance's attacks against Yugoslavia, as well as supplying F-16
fighter jets as escorts for the squads of bombers. In recent days
Turkish planes have directly taken part in the bombing, and Turkey
has provided several hundred men for NATO ground missions.

In contradistinction to the United States and Europe, the media and
politicians in Turkey have not limited their arguments for
participation in the war to the plight of the Albanian population in
Kosovo. From time to time they have quite bluntly asserted the real
aims behind the war: the control of the Balkans as a strategically
and economically important region.

On May 17 a commentary by a former Turkish ambassador, Sukru Elekdag,
appeared in the newspaper Milliyet, dealing at length with Turkish,
NATO and Western interests in the region:

“Turkey is deeply concerned with the security and stability of the
Balkans because of her geo-strategic interests, and has to follow an
active policy towards this region. The Balkan peninsula is an
advanced defence zone for Thrace, the Turkish Straits and Istanbul.
Therefore, Ankara's sensitivity toward the conflicts and geopolitical
changes in the region has an understandable source Turkey, in a
key location and a bridge between three continents, has a unique geo-
political identity within the region, controlling all the
communication lines via air, land or sea. With its location Turkey is
a focus of power not only for the Balkans, but also for the Caucasus-
Central Asia corridor and the Middle East. If the future EU strategy
is to open itself up to Eurasia, Turkey's integration with the
defence system of the [European] Union is a must” (quoted from
Anadolu Agency).

Control over the region from the Adriatic to Asia—known historically
as the “Silk Road”—was already dealt with in the Milliyet of April 26
. A report on the NATO summit read as follows: “President Suleyman
Demirel, who delivered a speech during the ‘Silk Road' countries
meeting organised with the participation of a number of Central Asian
and Caucasian countries as part of the NATO summit in the US,
remarked that the Silk Road is still of remarkable geo-political
significance, and that Turkey functions as a bridge between the East
and the West. Demirel also noted that there are ongoing efforts to
facilitate the Baku-Ceyhan Pipeline and Transcaucasian energy
corridor, which will supplement peace and stability in the region”
(Anadolu Agency).

In the West, Turkey's arch-rival Greece and its ally Serbia stand in
the way. Turkey is therefore deliberately using the war against
Yugoslavia to secure its domination in the Balkans in opposition to
Greece. On May 21 a commentary along these lines appeared in
Hürriyet, shortly after it was made known that Turkish bombers would
not just act as escorts, but actively take part in the bombing:

“What can be the reasons or expectations which have changed our
policy? President Demirel has answered this question with the
statement that we cannot act like Greece. This statement shows that
the main consideration is to place Turkey above Greece, which is
standing close to Serbia. The president went on to say that loyalty
was one of the main factors in deciding Turkish policy. He added that
Turkey was a first-class member of NATO, and to drop to the position
of a second- or third-class member would go against Turkey's
interests. In NATO, Turkey is among the top five states, and she
should not lose this position. This means that the decision is being
taken to consolidate Turkey's position in the West and strengthen its
pro-Western policy” (Anadolu Agency).

The enormous economic and political significance of the “Silk Road”
and the status of the pipeline from Baku in Aserbaidjan on the
Caspian Sea to the Turkish Mediterranean port of Ceyhan is explained
in a report from the May 17 Turkish Daily News on the Trade
Exhibition “Petroleum ‘99”, which was also featured in other Turkish
newspapers:

“Energy will remain one of the most critical factors in national
economies in the twenty-first century, said [Turkish] Energy and
Natural Resources Minister Ziya Aktas. Aktas made a speech at the
Petroleum '99 fair on ‘Caspian Petroleum and Turkey's Strategy over
the Transportation of Petroleum'. He said that providing for the
transportation, distribution and marketing of energy is as important
as owning energy sources for strengthening one's position in
international bargaining talks. Turkey is a natural bridge between
the Middle East and Central Asia, where most of the world's energy
sources are located, and Western countries, which are the major
consumers of

Post Number 33: Children, and legal drugs
Isn’t is amazing what we permit to be done to our children in the name
of profit? Oh, I know, this is not what we are told is being done, but
it is hard to draw any other conclusion, if we are willing to look at
the facts, and not the nonsense handed out as justification for the
millions of dollars paid to the people who promote and distribute, not
to mention manufacture, the so-called “legal” drugs handed out by the
fistful to our children.

And this begs the question, just why are we doing this? It is hard to
deny that the major reason is economics. In Scripture, we are told that
“the root of ALL evil is the LOVE of money.” This is true even when
those promoting such things as drugs are not to blame, and they do not
force us to put our children in “their” schools. In fact, there are
specific “laws” which say we do not have too. But, the draw of a bigger
house, more toys, another car or TV, and, of course, a vacation, counts
for more. So, judge who is to blame, and what is going on starting with
yourself. And I know many people who have made other choices, and, yes,
they are poorer, in your eyes. Certainly not in mine. They survive on
one wage, and are stigmatized as “poor” although in Truth, they are far
richer.

I have received many replies about the Post on Ritalin, most very
encouraging that more are becoming aware. A few, of course, bitter in
sound. One in particular spoke of his Christianity, and if the
Christian teachers in the public school where his children go. I gave
the above answer, of course, and then asked:
Those Christian teachers you refer to, are they the ones teaching
evolution to your children, without the benefit of the research done by
such as the Institute for Creation Research? Or the ones who help the
schools classify your children as needing drugs, so the school can cash
in on the extra money offered by the federal government? You know, I am
just curious, if you really understand what being a Christian is all
about. Cause it is not about money, if you understand the term, that
is. But I have had some excellent, understanding replies as well:

Actually, the secret of Ritalin is all related to money. It seems that
there is a federal program that classifies children that take Ritalin as
Behavior Disordered. Such BD children are worth about 5,000 dollars to a
school system in extra federal money.
If a child is in any so called special education class, this is worth
big bucks too. That includes children that are gifted and have very high
IQ’s. Special classes for these children are now called Special Ed,
just to get federal dollars. The problem is that such SE labeled
children are downgraded when applying to good schools at a later date.
An employer looking at their school records will only see that such a
child had a history of SE, and is classified in the same group as
children that are violent, retarded, physically handicapped and so on.
I know a woman whose grandchild maintains a 4.0 average and was denied
admittance to a private school just because he was labeled SE.

DOPING OUR KIDS
Prescription drugs at root of violence, says expert
By David M. Bresnahan 1999 WorldNetDaily.com

Mind altering drugs may be the cause of violence among school children,
according to some doctors and other experts. Millions of children are
legally taking drugs similar to
cocaine in schools every day.

The drugs are Ritalin, Prozac, and others.

The claims that behavioral drugs cause violence in children came after
news reports that Eric Harris, one of the shooters in the Columbine High
School shooting, was reported to
have been taking such medication. Harris was also rejected by the
Marines for medical reasons. The Marines would only say that anyone who
is currently being treated by a
doctor would be rejected.

Other shootings and violent acts at schools across the nation have been
committed by children receiving psychiatric care, counseling, and drugs
such as Ritalin, according to
several groups.

At least two organizations claim that over-use of Ritalin is to blame
for the escalating incidents of children committing acts of violence on

Sunday May 23, 1999 The Washington Post reported that an ethics panel
appointed by Council on Foreign Relations President BJ Clinton,
recommended the US government begin funding research on human embryos
despite a ban imposed against such experimentation by Congress. The ethics
panel is called the National Bioethics Advisory Commission. The National
Bioethics Advisory Commission was established by Council on Foreign
Relations member President BJ Clinton through Executive Order #12975
[http://frwebgate2.access.gpo.gov/cgi-bin/waisgate.cgi?WAISdocID=688091910
7+0+0+ 0WAISaction=retrieve], and met for the first time in October 1996.

The National Bioethics Advisory Commission is a Council on Foreign
Relation extension into government. The Council on Foreign Relations is
using the National Bioethics Advisory Commission to change public policies
that govern us all to provide public funding of Council on Foreign
Relations controlled medical and university human subject experimentation
and research.

The public policies that govern us all impose a ban by Congress on funding
research on human embryos. The Council on Foreign Relations established
and controlled National Bioethics Advisory Commission has concluded it is
potentially unfair for Congress to continue its 4-year-old funding ban on
human embryo research. A draft version of a new National Bioethics
Advisory Commission report calls for legislation to allow
federally-financed researchers to conduct studies on leftover embryos from
fertility clinics if the embryos were no longer wanted by the parents who
made them.

Gary Ellis, director of the National Institute of Health's Office for
protection from Research Risks told an University of Minnesota audience,
that the chief "catalytic event" in creation of the new National Bioethics
Advisory Commission was 1993 publicity regarding 1940s experiments during
which plutonium was injected into human subjects.

When Council on Foreign Relations member President BJ Clinton needed
someone to chair the National Bioethics Advisory Commission that would
provide "guidance to federal agencies on the ethical conduct of current
and future human biological and behavioral research," he chose Council on
Foreign Relations member Harold Tafler Shapiro.

Council on Foreign Relations member Shapiro is President of Princeton
University and Professor of Economics and Public Affairs. He earned a
Bachelors Degree in Commerce from McGill University in Canada, and a M.A.
and Ph.D. in economics from Princeton University.

Council on Foreign Relations member John Gibbons, assistant to Council on
Foreign Relations member President BJ Clinton for science and Technology,
said,

"The President's selection of President Shapiro to head the
National Bioethics Advisory Commission is the best possible barometer of
the importance that the White House attaches to these issues, Dr. Shapiro
is a respected scholar and leader whose thoughtful contributions have
helped shape public policy in science and education, and his willingness
to accept this appointment is a guarantor that the commission's work will
be thorough and deliberate."

Council on Foreign Relations member Shapiro has had previous experience in
Washington, D.C., and a long-standing interest in medical issues. He
served on Council on Foreign Relations member President Bush's Council of
Advisors on Science and Technology from 1990 to 1992, and he chaired the
Institute of Medicine's Committee on Employer-Based Health Benefits.
Former chair of the executive board of the University of Michigan
Hospitals, he is currently a trustee of the University of Pennsylvania
Medical Center and a director of Dow Chemical Co. He is also chair of the
board of trustees of the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation and a trustee of the
Universities Research Association.

In February of 1997, following reports of the successful cloning of a
sheep, Council on Foreign Relations President BJ Clinton asked the
National Bioethics Advisory Commission to review the profound ethical
issues raised by the possible cloning of human beings. On June 9, 1997,
Council on Foreign Relations member Commission Chair Harold Shapiro,
presented the Commission report to the President. The Commission found
unanimously that it is morally unacceptable for anyone to attempt to
create a child with the technology used to create Dolly the sheep.

The Commission also found that the new technology may have many
agricultural and medical benefits, including the development of medicines,
therapies for diseases such as cancer, cystic fibrosis, and diabetes, and
prospects for repair and regeneration of human tissues. The Commission
concluded that the cloning of DNA, cells, tissues, and non-human animals

2: How far does the link between Ritalin and the increase in school shootings run,
who, or what organization, is most directly involved in pushing for the spread and/or
usage of the medication, and what, if any, is their connection to anyone in the
Clinton White House?

I believe if anyone can honestly, accurately, and intelligently answer this post...the

Dr. Michael McKubre, an electrochemist at Menlo Park, California-based SRI,
was generating unaccounted-for heat in a carefully-controlled cold fusion
experiment. McKubre presented his findings at the centennial meeting of the
American Physical Society, the nation's premier gathering of physicists.
Close to 100 scientists attended McKubre's talk, a sizable audience for a
technical session. Despite the crowd, and the importance of the subject, no
major news stories have been published about the event. According to
McKubre,
there was only one journalist present.

In his talk, McKubre detailed the results of SRI's nearly 10-year effort to
replicate the work of Utah chemists Stanley Pons and Martin Fleischmann.
McKubre confirmed that, under the right, difficult-to-achieve conditions,
sustained reactions are taking place in SRI's cold fusion cells. McKubre
says
the reaction appears to be nuclear in origin.

In addition to carefully measuring the excess heat being produced, McKubre
has also detected elevated quantities of Helium-4, a known fusion
by-product.
McKubre's findings turn what is currently known about nuclear science on its
head.

But that is only half the story.

Since writing my first report on McKubre's work two months ago, I've become
convinced that the federal Department of Energy is responsible for a massive
failure to serve the public interest. Rather than budget the funds needed to
explore this new, emerging science, our top national energy science
officials
have adopted what might be called, at best, a policy of benign neglect. At
worst, it's a policy of fraud and deceit.

How could this be happening?

The stakes in the debate about cold fusion are enormous. In this case, an
unholy alliance seems to have come together. The principle players are the
fossil fuel industry, which has no interest in seeing itself eclipsed by a
new, non-polluting source of energy, and the mainstream physics community,
which wants to protect, seemingly at all costs, the federal funding it
relies
on to continue its massively expensive hot fusion experiments.

I've seen how squirrelly even good people can get when a few of their bucks
are in jeopardy. So it's not surprising that when several trillion dollars
are on the table, there are signs of skullduggery.

Take, for starters, the Energy Resources Advisory Board (ERAB) panel
appointed during the Bush administration to look into the cold fusion claims
made by Pons and Fleischmann. That panel leaned heavily on an experiment
done
at MIT that found the field unworthy of financial support. Since then,
however, Dr. Eugene Mallove, the chief science writer at MIT at the time,
has
come forward to denounce the MIT study, citing irregularities in the way
MIT's results were presented.

Mallove contends MIT's researchers did generate excess heat in their cold
fusion experiment, and then fudged that finding in their final report. As
evidence, Mallove has produced a copy of the original heat-measurement graph
used in the MIT experiment, which showed slight heat production above the
expected level. That graph did not appear in the final MIT report. In its
place, the MIT team published an "adjusted" graph that showed no production
of excess heat.

Mallove resigned in protest and demanded an investigation.

In addressing Mallove's complaint, MIT did not dispute that the original
graph had been altered. Instead, one of the 15 authors of the MIT report was
permitted to take the unusual step of changing the description of the
experiment's purpose, AFTER the paper describing it was published.

According to an appendix added to the report as a result of the
investigation
into Mallove's charges, the experiment was redefined to have been a search
for a sudden onset of released energy, rather than to determine if
unaccounted-for heat was being generated in cold fusion cells. Mallove
contends MIT's handling of the matter was fatally flawed. "In science, we
don't usually allow anyone to redefine the purpose of an experiment to match
the results," he says.

Since then, with funding from futurist Arthur C. Clarke, Mallove has been
publishing "Infinite Energy" magazine, a publication devoted to spreading
news about cold fusion experiments. Last month, Mallove released "Fire From
Water," a video documentary about cold fusion. Mallove is currently
negotiating with several national networks interested in broadcasting the
newly released video.

Before we ban guns all together

It is physically impossible to ban guns. The genii is out of the bottle.
All the laws in the world can't put it back in.

What we must do is create a world in which the use of guns, or of any
other tool, to oppress others in any way is unthinkable because the
oppression of others is unthinkable in and of itself, with tools or
without. Such a world cannot be created with guns and such a world cannot
be created without guns. Such a world is our only hope because this world,
the world we have today, will otherwise destroy us and in the meantime is
a prison.

"FREE SPEECH! Use it, or lose it!"

ABUSES
Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms
An Unofficial Collection

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (BATF) is widely perceived to
be a rogue agency that openly ignores the constitutional rights of
Americans. When this is brought to the attention of those in power, the
response is usually, "Prove it!". The information in these Web pages do not
'prove' that the BATF is a rogue agency but it does present a lot of
incidents. Study the information here, do some research if you wish, and
then make your own decision about what kind of agency the BATF really is.

Last update: 3 May 1999

Changes since last update:

This is now the new home of the Abuses By The BATF Web Page. People who have
bookmarked this page please take note.

Well, it didn't take long for the Jack-Booted Thugs to take advantage of
their newly minted federal license to kill. BATF and local law enforcement
raided a gun shop in Taft, CA. The story from the cops is that the store
owner ate a barrel while resisting arrest. Few if any in the community
believe this story. I wonder why? The news report is here:
http://croaker.barkingmad.org/howell.html#TOP

A newspaper in California has set up a special web page with all known
information about this incident:
http://www.bakersfield.com/special/taftshooting/

Grasping at straws to close yet another "big case," the BATF goes after a
gun collector in South Florida. After trying for months to get him to sell
Class 3 stuff under the table, they kick in his door and bust him for having
a rusted-closed WW2 relic. Results: Conviction on one charge, Firearm
Possession By Convicted Felon. Just one problem: the conviction exists
(17-year-old assault case), but is it a felony? F-Troop says yes, county
courthouse says "damnifweknow." I guess dangerous gun collectors aren't
entitled to presumption of innocence anymore. If a Jack-Booted Thug says
you're a felon, a felon you have just become. Whether you are one or not.
And to make matters worse, the judge is allowing all the charges the jury
just acquitted him of to be used in determining the sentence. So a sentence
of 18 months may turn into 18 years or more. Didn't they pull that stunt on
the Waco Massacre survivors? More details here:
http://www.mnsinc.com/SkyWriter/

In other news, two BATF agents were indicted in Detroit for abuse of
authority and abusing a suspect. The raid was allegedly not sanctioned, one
member of F-Troop kicked the suspect in the head and the other helped cover
it up. These are the people HCI want to be the sole possessors of initiated
force?

 F-Troop loses another case:
http://www.al.com/news/birmingham/1998-09-12/gun.html

A brother and sister in Alabama were cleared of all charges after the judge
got tired of BATF failing to provide exculpatory evidence. This judge did
the right thing, but keep in mind that if F-Troop finds evidence that will
help in your trial defense, count on them making it "disappear." Makes that
railroad trip much easier and more pleasant (for them).

Now that the case is in litigation, I am adding a link to the F-Troop raid
of A-Square and the home of it's owner on 19 Dec 1996. There is a lot of
recent scary stuff at this site, including the revelation of a federal
computer database called TECS (Treasury Enforcement Communications System).
This system is used to flag anyone "under investigation" by any agency under
the Treasury Department. It is also tied to NCIC, so anyone can be flagged
as a dangerous person without any sort of court order, indictment, or
conviction and will so appear to any police officer making a routine
inquiry. Any bets as to whether the sponsor of this web page is so flagged?

As usual, NRA is doing it's patented "no harm, no foul" routine in this
case, though they did provide space at the NRA Annual Meeting for LTC Alphin
to plead his case to the membership. GOA has pledged assistance and a
defense fund has been established. The link to the case is here:

Subject: A letter to the editor re. "Compromise over Kosovo Means Defeat,"
May 24, 1999

Dear Ned,

It's a good thing that Zbigniew Brzezinski is now merely a hateful
anti-Orthodox Christian bigot. For, were he still in some position of
power, as he was as Jimmy Carter's national security adviser, this
warmonger would be leading the U.S. straight into a WW III inferno.
Without even a pause for a careful reflection.

Brzezinski's OpEd piece, "Compromise over Kosovo Means Defeat" (May 24,
1999), is a perfect example of a racist, maximalist arrogance which the
self-professed "liberals" display these days. "Only a Kosovo free of armed
Serbs..." is an acceptable end result to this warmonger. Never mind that
Kosovo is, and has been a part of Serbia, for a better part of the last
1,000 years. Brzezinski thinks it's okay for NATO simply to snatch away,
and hand it over to the Albanians, just as it did in 1995 with huge swaths
of Serbian territories in Bosnia and Croatia.

So let's try the following hypothetical scenario, to test the sanity of
Brzezinski's ideas. Suppose the Russians decide for geopolitical reasons
just as valid as NATO's imperialism, they want some of today's Polish
lands; say the Gdansk and Suwalki regions in the north. This would provide
a contiguous Russian-controlled territory between the Russian area of
Kaliningrad in the north (now an landlocked "island" between Lithuania and
Poland), and the pro-Russian Byelorussia to the east of Poland.

A neat idea, right? From a Russian imperialists' standpoint. And with
even more merit than NATO's forceful attempt to move into Kosovo. With an
unspoken, but obvious geopolitical agenda - to eventually link up its
eastern wing (Turkey) with its western wing (Italy, etc.), along the "Green
Interstate," and across the backs of the Serbs who have lived in Kosovo,
and who used to live in Croatia and Bosnia, for centuries.

In other words, it would be a case of blatant Russian land grab to which, I
suspect, Brzezinski would be violently opposed. Yet, here he is, advocating
exactly the same thing in Kosovo. And worse...

Proving that Brzezinski doesn't give a damn about American lives, either,
he is bemoaning NATO's supposedly too careful air campaign. "The painful
reality is that the bombing campaign has been conducted as if the human
lives at stake should be priced at three different levels," he writes.
"The most precious lives are those of the NATO pilots...; next are those of
Mr. Milosevic's officials...; least valuable are the lives of the Kosovars
(i.e., Kosovo Albanians) themselves"

So what would Brzezinski like to see happen? Have more Americans killed
than the several hundred whom our Draftdodger-in-Chief has already sent to
their needless deaths?

(I know... the "yadda, yadda, yadda... lie and deny" Washington and
Brussels crowd deny they've suffered any casualties. Except for the two
American pilots killed when their Apache helicopter was shot down by the
Yugoslav air defenses on May 5. Which "yadda, yadda, yadda... lie and
deny" spin masters deny, saying it was a mechanical or pilot error. For a
contrary assessment, check out the German "Welt am Sonntag" May 23 edition).

Whether American casualties have been so far in the dozens or in the
hundreds may be debatable. What is not debatable is that they will be in
the thousands should NATO attempt a land invasion of Kosovo, as the
warmongers like Brzezinski are advocating. So that NATO can claim "a
Kosovo free of armed Serbs..." as its war booty.

A group of British military experts, under the guise and cover of being
OSCE monitors, examined the various possible points of entry for a ground
assault from Macedonia - BEFORE the NATO bombing began on Mar. 24, the
London Times recently reported. And they concluded that, "an invasion
force could be stopped 'by a flock of sheep'," the Times said, as the steep
mountain passes along the route "provide an ideal ambush country."

The Yugoslav Army is anything but sheepish, as the downing of the F-117,
and that of the Apache helicopter proved, among other NATO casualties -
admitted or not by Washington and/or Brussels.

In other words, it would be "Slaughterhouse Kosovo" for the would-be NATO
invaders. Only armchair warriors, like Brzezinski or Tony Blair, not to
mention Bill Clinton or Madeleine Albright, who have not spent a day of
their lives in a trench, could advocate that as a "solution" to the "Kosovo
Crisis" which they have manufactured, painting themselves into a corner.

Meanwhile, Brzezinski's racism shone right through his complaints about the
supposedly three different
