Noted, could indeed a good way to check the script.
Thanks,

Ciao Pascal,
in the Italian translation we used many Caps. as per Italian grammar.
I am not in the position to write the script but maybe you can use the
it.po file as a sort of 'template' for tests or something similar
Thanks,
Maurizio

I'm also against this all lower case rule. But, no the rule has not
changed recently and will not change as a small step. I don't want to
have non consistent GUI in dt, this will be very bad !
The only solution out of this is:
- To create a script to rewrite all strings in the code with

I also agree with you, as an english native speaker :)
Having read this issue

Hi all,
as already informed we have introduced capital letters at the beginning of
sentences in order to match Italian language rules.
Yesterday I revised again the .po file in order to bring back all lower
case in MODULES NAMES only.
Since dt3 can let you search by modules (and this field is case

Hello Pascal,
Referring to your comment that the /rule is under discussion./
As a non-native English speaker, I would vote against the rule. I also think
users with
English as their native language find it strange if everything is written in
small letters
(don't the dt developers know the

Hi all,
in the Italian translation we changed all strings with the initial
uppercase.

Hi,
It is difficult to say that it is a "rule".
In French, for instance, the uppercase at the beginning of a sentence is
"orthographic".
This means that the lack of such an uppercase letter violates an
orthographic rule.
It is the same, BTW (and in French), for the diacritics on uppercase
letters.
Hi Pierre,

Note that this rule is for the English strings. I suppose a translation
can be made as you like it. We cannot impose a style for all languages.
It was also discussed to change the rule and actually use
Hi,
FWIW, this "rule" doesn't work nearly as well for all languages as for
English (and even there it's arguable practice).
E.g. since all nouns in German should be capitalized according to language
authorities, wouldn't using all-lowercase in dt effectively make the German
translation incorrect?
Few days ago I learned that a rule exists among the darktable developers that says that in darktablel everything is written in lower case (see comments in pull request #3694).
The rule has been taken into account for most translations, but not for all.
For the purpose of standardization, I
