yes sir the windows fix fixed it. in reality gimp wasn't installed correctly. I had the flatpak version installed. I reinstalled the apt version and everything was good after. the flatpak version was installed from the ISO. as for when told that my hdr method with gimp didn't work this is how y

My camera takes braketed images but only saves as JPG. What would make darktable the bomb is if you would allow us to make HDR images with JPG images. LuminanceHDR allows for one to do this but the last time I tried using it the resulting image turned out blurry. -- :-)~MIKE~(-:
