Wouldn't viewing the preview at the correct resolution be better than
nothing though? Or is the difference between the darkroom preview and the
final export that large? Surely when people are tuning the sharpening
settings they don't do it by adjusting and exporting and then re-adjust

if you want to know exactly what an output would look like, the only
way to do it right is to do the export.. (ctrl-e on my setup)
it'll also depend on the viewer you're targeting, output colour profiles etc.

Is it possible to zoom to a specific output resolution in the darkroom
view? In other words, if I have a 4000x3000 pixel original image and I plan
to output it at 2000x1500, I would like to zoom to 50% (or is that 25%? Is
