Bug#432712: full-upgrade should give error when arguments are present

This looks like dist-upgrade should also give the error message since
it doesn't work with individual packages:
An aptitude dist-upgrade (or full-upgrade) package will result in the same

Unless package is not installed, or you want to append extra

Also, according to my bug report, xserver-xorg is installed.

According to apt-cache, xserver-xorg conflicts with old versions of

This computer is fully up to date with etch.

The only thing I can think of is that I got confused and quoted an old

This is confusing.

Bug#426151: compiz move the windows start location when it is loaded

2007-07-12 Thread Kevin Brown

It's probably because you need to enable the place plugin.

To do this, open the configuration editor and point it at
/apps/compiz/general/allscreens/options. Double-click the
active_plugins entry and add en entry called place to it (without
the quotes).

You can then control how windows get placed by modifying the
/apps/compiz/plugins/place/screen0/options/mode entry. I have mine set
to Centered (again, no quotes) but you can set it to Cascade, Smart,
Maximize, or Random.

Unfortunately, compiz is not part of Gnome, so I don't think we can
expect it to look as well integrated in Gnome stuff as Metacity or so.
You might want to look at compiz-fusion anyway, since this is where
actual development is done now, and I don't expect many improvement in
the plain compiz in the near future regarding these problems.

By the way, why do you use multiple workspaces instead of a single one
with multiple faces of the cube? Is there any interest in using compiz
without the cube effect?

Bug#432816: dh-make kernel module: kdist_clean target

2007-07-12 Thread Adrian von Bidder
Package: dh-make
Version: 0.43

Hi,

Kel Modderman [EMAIL PROTECTED] reviewed my newly created
btrfs-modules-source package and said:

 * kdist_clean: should call upstream's clean target, not the debian/rules
 clean target

(kdist_clean comes from the debian/rules template for kernel module
packaging)

Since kdist_clean is called in the context of building the modules binary
package (correct?), it should probably call both dh_clean and upstream make
clean.

Calling debian/rules clean might be wrong because the clean target for
building the modules-source (binary) package and the clean target for
building the modules binary package is not necessarily the same, so that's
why I'm calling dh_clean directly.

So what I'm doing now:
kdist_clean: clean
dh_testdir
dh_clean
$(MAKE) $(MFLAGS) clean

(But I'm absolutely not sure if that's the best way to do it.)

cheers

Bug#432817: Harddisc changed from /dev/hda to sda from 2.6.18

2007-07-12 Thread Fabian Greffrath
Package: linux-image-2.6.21-2-k7
Version: 2.6.21-5
Severity: normal

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---

Dear Kernel-maintainers,

Today I tried to boot the new-in-testing linux-image-2.6.21-2-k7.
Before that I always booted linux-image-2.6.18-4-k7.

Unfortunately the boot process did not succeed, instead the following error
message appeared:

Begin: Mounting root file system... ...
Begin: Running /scripts/localo-top ...
ide0: I/O resource 0x3F6-0x3F6 not free.
ide0: ports already in use, skipping probe
ide1: I/O resource 0x376-0x376 not free.
ide1: ports already in use, skipping probe
Done.
Begin: Waiting for root file system... ...

From this point on, the harddisc was active, but the boot process did not
continue.

I found out that all I had to do was changing 'hda' into 'sda' in /etc/fstab
and on the grub command line to boot this kernel.
Strangely the device names for my harddisc partitions seem to have changed from
/dev/hda* to /dev/sda* during the kernel transition.
I consider this strange, because my machine has no SATA harddisc or similar
(AFAICT), but only an ordinary IDE harddisc.

I want www-data to be able to read/enter in /etc/horde/ directory

An additional approach is to make Horde's configuration files owned by

and it's OK for ever, even when you install new Horde modules.
It should probably be the default behaviour.

Ok. I'll file a wishlist bug for this so we remember it. :)
Clone to appropriate packages...

It should be something like this:

chgrp -Rf root.www-data debian/horde3/etc/horde
chgrp -Rf 750 debian/horde3/etc/horde

And then change the dh_fixperms line to:
dh_fixperms -Xdebian/horde3/var/log/horde -Xdebian/horde3/etc/horde

Bug#432818: /usr/sbin/rpc.svcgssd not started by nfs-kernel-server

2007-07-12 Thread Joachim Zach
Package: nfs-kernel-server
Version: 1:1.0.10-6
Severity: normal

If nfs-kernel-server is configured to start svcgssd for kerberos
authentication,
it does not do so at boot time, because the module rpcsec_gss_krb5 is not yet
loaded.
This module is normally loaded by nfs-common, but nfs-common has a S21
init-script
and is called after nfs-kernel-server.

For me it worked allright to change nfs-common to S20
(update-rc.d -f nfs-common defaults 20 80)
and I would suggest to modify the postinst scripts of nfs-common accordingly,
if
no other reasons exist to start nfs-common at the late S21-stage.

Bug#432819: ja-trans: should this package be removed?

2007-07-12 Thread Lucas Nussbaum
Package: ja-trans
Version: 0.8-2
Severity: serious

Hi,

While looking at very old packages, I came across ja-trans.
* it was last uploaded in Aug 2002.
* the full list of files in that package is:
/.
/usr
/usr/share
/usr/share/locale
/usr/share/locale/ja
/usr/share/locale/ja/LC_MESSAGES
/usr/share/locale/ja/LC_MESSAGES/net-tools.mo

/usr/share/doc/ja-trans
/usr/share/doc/ja-trans/README.Debian
/usr/share/doc/ja-trans/copyright
/usr/share/doc/ja-trans/changelog.Debian.gz

The mo file for net-tools is for version 1.51, according to the source.
While the version of net-tools in the archive is 1.60. Shouldn't this
translation be merged in net-tools, and this package be removed?

Thank you,

Given which components are involved in rendering compiz and switching
from/to VT, the problem is probably much more related to the server core
and the driver than to compiz. If you're using the nvidia binary driver,
the bug could entirely nvidia-specific and thus non-debuggable on our

reassigning to nvidia-glx for now.

By the way, why do you use multiple workspaces instead of a single one
with multiple faces of the cube? Is there any interest in using compiz
without the cube effect?

Yeah, me. :-)

The cube effect is cool and gimmicky based on the videos I've seen (I
haven't been able to get it to work at all myself), but doesn't look to
be as clean and direct as the workspace switcher, and doesn't show you
at a glance what your window layout across your workspaces (whether
they're separate or not) looks like.

So from a strict usability standpoint, the workspace switcher looks like
a better way to go, in my opinion.

OK, fair enough. My X server crashes on me when I run Nexuiz (an OpenGL

Try moving the .config file out of the way or if you have a .config

it out of the way.

If you then restart X things should be happier.

Bug#432823: libfcgi-dev: unable to properly handle Expect:100-Continue ?

2007-07-12 Thread colinux
Package: libfcgi-dev
Version: 2.4.0-5
Severity: normal

I am using the fastcgi_stdio package under apache2 and encountered a
situation which I am not sure is the problem of apache2 or the cgi
protocol or fastcgi itself.

If the client put a Expect: 100-Continue in the header, either apache2
or fastcgi recognize it and that I can no longer retrieve any of those
CGI parameters or HTTP_* headers, until I write out Status: xxx
message through the interface.

This however is wrong logical wise as I need the CGI parameters for
processing before I can put out the right Status line. So instead of
responding 403 for access denied(say for an upload), the client receive
a 200 OK then a body text of 403. This is all wrong.

Well, what doesn't work? If you have hsize 1, what happens when you
try to move a window to the right of your screen? or if you press
ctrl-alt-left/right? It should rotate.

but doesn't look to be as clean and direct as the workspace switcher,
and doesn't show you at a glance what your window layout across your

You should just use ctrl-alt-bottom to see all faces of the cube at once
and then left/right to switch between them. It's much nicer than the
workspace switcher since it's much bigger and you can still see the
(reduced) contents of the windows.

So from a strict usability standpoint, the workspace switcher looks

Still, I don't see why use compiz then :)

Basically, the problem is that the framebuffer device doesn't accept the

argue that even if the framebuffer device doesn't know or care about the

consider this a bug in stifb.

Bug#432824: Please add || true to gtk-update-icon-cache calls in postinst/postrm

2007-07-12 Thread Daniel Holbach
Package: debhelper
Version: 5.0.52
Severity: important

Please add || true to gtk-update-icon-cache calls in postinst/postrm.
The postinsts in Ubuntu are currently bombing out on things
like /usr/share/locolor (of openoffice.org) which does not ship an
index.theme file. This is arguably a bug in openoffice.org; but the user
experience is horrible: due to something silly as an updated icon cache
the package installation is broken.

Please add || true to the postinsts and postrms, so
gtk-update-icon-cache does not bomb out anymore.

I really don't want to bitch around, but it might have been worth to
check the dh_iconcache before - in Ubuntu we went through several
iterations of changes before we were happy with it. The || true change
included.

Have a nice day, let's hope this is going to be the final change to make
us happy with iconcaches.

/usr/lib/libboost_***-mt.so or /usr/lib/libboost_***-st.so. This
should point on the -st files by default (the safer bet, I understood ?)
so that code linked to the non -mt nor -st files still compile.
In this condition, the default behaviour can be tunable by
update-alternative, while keeping the possibility to explicitly link
your code on either the -mt or -st files.

Bug#432825: xfonts-kappa20: The font isn't declared as fixed-width?

2007-07-12 Thread Ryo Furue
Package: xfonts-kappa20
Version: 0.396-3
Severity: normal

I like this font very much and would like to use it on konsole
(a KDE terminal program). I use this

  -kappa-fixed-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-iso8859-*

on emacs successfully. But, this font doesn't show up in the list of
fonts on konsole, which uses only fixed-width fonts. But Kappa20 is
definitely a fixed-width font.

I guess the problem is this:

  http://lists.kde.org/?l=konsole-develm=115500814300427w=2

This comment says,

Unfortunately there may be some fonts on your system which actually
are fixed-width and could be used but don't show up on the list.
This is a problem with the software used to create the fonts, so the
people to talk to are the font authors themselves.

So, I'm talking to you. :-)

Thank you for your attention,
Ryo

Bug#425534: ext3 filesystem corruption also with linux-image-2.6.18-4-486

retitle 425534 linux-2.6: ext3 filesystem corruption
thanks

Hello,

today I got an error in my ext3 root-fs very similar to the ones
described earlier.

1) During boot hda1 reached maximal mount count and was checked.
2) e2fsck reports:
/dev/hda1: Inode 53916 has illegal blocks
/dev/hda1: UNEXPECTED INCONSISTENCY, RUN fsck MANUALLY
3) I then reboot into Knoppix, and start e2fsck. It shows now error on
this filesystem. The superblock time error was only because the clock
   was wrong under knoppix.

   [EMAIL PROTECTED] e2fsck -yf /dev/hda1
   e2fsck 1.39-WIP (09-Apr-2006)
Superblock last write time is in the future. Fix? yes
Pass 1: Checking inodes, blocks, and sizes
   Pass 2: Checking directory structure
   Pass 3: Checking directory connectivity
   Pass 4: Checking reference counts
Pass 5: Checking group summary information
   /dev/hda1: * FILE SYSTEM WAS MODIFIED *
   /dev/hda1: 26298/124672 files (0.7% non-contiguous), 133789/248999 blocks

4) During the e2fsck run the output from dumpe2fs -h /dev/hda1 changed from:
   Filesystem state: clean with errors
   to
   Filesystem state: clean

5) After that the System booted without problems!!

Because the Error occurs in different kernel packages I reassign it to
the source package linux-2.6 and adjust the version numbers.

In the meantime I write a small bash script that extracts a statistic
how often this problem occurs with different kernel images from my log
files. The script is attached, the logfiles are all from the same
machine.
Maybe the bug is fixed in Package 2.6.21-1-k7 Version 2.6.21-4.
I will report after a few more tests.

Well, what doesn't work? If you have hsize 1, what happens when you
try to move a window to the right of your screen? or if you press
ctrl-alt-left/right? It should rotate.

That does nothing.

ctrl-alt-bottom gets me all the faces of the cube but left and right
don't do anything. Looks like the keys for that would be space and
backspace, but the cube stays up only as long as ctrl and alt are
pressed down, and space still does nothing in that context, even if I
change it to include ControlAlt.

but doesn't look to be as clean and direct as the workspace switcher,
and doesn't show you at a glance what your window layout across your
workspaces (whether they're separate or not) looks like.

You should just use ctrl-alt-bottom to see all faces of the cube at once
and then left/right to switch between them. It's much nicer than the
workspace switcher since it's much bigger and you can still see the
(reduced) contents of the windows.

I can see all the faces but not manipulate them in any way.

How/where do you have your keys mapped for this?

So from a strict usability standpoint, the workspace switcher looks
like a better way to go, in my opinion.

Still, I don't see why use compiz then :)

Because the other effects, like the fade-in and fade-out of windows and
such, make for a much more pleasant desktop experience.

And the scale effect is *very* nice and useful for picking a window
that's on the current workspace.

2007-07-12 Thread Kevin Brown

Brice Goglin wrote:

Given which components are involved in rendering compiz and switching
from/to VT, the problem is probably much more related to the server core
and the driver than to compiz. If you're using the nvidia binary driver,
the bug could entirely nvidia-specific and thus non-debuggable on our
part. I can't reproduce at all with the intel driver. So I am
reassigning to nvidia-glx for now.

One data point against compiz on this: if I use compiz in the session,
then disable it (replace it with metacity after turning compiz into a
normal session entry), then switch out I can switch back without any
issue. So compiz is at least tickling the right bugs in the server here...

Not that you can do much to deal with it if you don't have the same
drivers, so I still agree that nvidia-glx is the right place for this.

to kill X...).

It looks like your ctrl-alt-left/right are not working. Did you change
the default key shortcut in the compiz gconf config? I've one such case
in the past, we only solved it by deleting the whole tree of compiz
config in the gconf database.

How/where do you have your keys mapped for this?

I didn't change anything. It seems to be
/apps/compiz/plugins/plane/allscreens/options/plane_left_key and
plane_right_key, set to ControlAltLeft and right here.

I agree that for sorting they are. For character classes it didn't seem right

would probably be that update-exim4.conf sets the locale to C and close this

Package: docbook-doc
Version: 30d10-8
Severity: serious

Hi Roland,

While looking at very old packages in Debian, I came across docbook-doc.
I'd like you to consider not releasing it with lenny:

- it's not longer updated upstream (last update in 2002)

- it documents pre-3.0 docbook, which might confuse users.

- as said in the package description, docbook-defguide is more up to
date (even if that one is orphaned).

- even for historical purposes, this documentation is easy to find
  online, see
  http://www.google.fr/search?q=%22Guide%20to%20the%20DocBook%20DTD%22

Further attempts to close it using the menu will produce the following output:

I am running Python 2.3.5-2, as comix only requires Python = 2.3.

I checked the documentation of Python [2.3 and 2.5. I'm assuming it is

Therefor, there is no need for the keyword argument. I removed it, and
it works fine now.

Bug#432829: grokking-the-gimp: please consider not releasing this with lenny

2007-07-12 Thread Lucas Nussbaum
Package: grokking-the-gimp
Version: 1.0-1
Severity: serious

Hi,

Looking at very old packages in Debian, I came across grokking-the-gimp.
I'd like you to consider not releasing it with lenny:

* it documents gimp as it was in 2000, it's probably confusing for
  users.

* the gimp help has improved and is translated in ~10 languages

* the book is available online anyway (
  http://gimp-savvy.com/BOOK/index.html )

* it's in non-free (ok, that's not really a good point ;)

Thank you,

Bug#432802: compiz: Compiz intereferes with workspace switcher and window selector applets

2007-07-12 Thread Kevin Brown

Brice Goglin wrote:

(and I don't want to try ctrl-alt-backspace anyway since it is supposed
to kill X...).

I tried it just for kicks and it did indeed kill X. :-)

It looks like your ctrl-alt-left/right are not working. Did you change
the default key shortcut in the compiz gconf config? I've one such case
in the past, we only solved it by deleting the whole tree of compiz
config in the gconf database.

I didn't change it until I tried to get it working. Up until then the
key bindings were the default. There were other items that I changed
but not the key bindings.

Also of note is that defining edges for next slide and previous
slide also does absolutely nothing.

This is in contrast to plane, which appears to work properly.

Another question is: how does one move a window between slides/planes?
I can drag it to the edge, go to the next plane/slide, then pick it up
from there, but that's very cumbersome to say the least.

Much easier to right-click on the titlebar and tell it to move to a
different workspace. :-)

Bug#432831: ntlmaps does not catch credentials request and then takes 99% CPU

2007-07-12 Thread Dominique Dumont
Package: ntlmaps
Version: 0.9.9.0.1-7
Severity: important

Hello

I've noticed for a few weeks that ntlmaps no longer work as before.

I don't really know what has changed on the windows server I try to
access, but when I try to access a page that requires ntlm
credentials, I see:
- the usual login/passwd window as if ntlmaps does not catch the
  credentials request
- that ntmlmap takes 99% CPU untils I cancel the page request

This bug is probably the same as the upstream bug:
http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detailaid=1735500group_id=69259atid=523935

Note that upstream project has not seen much activity for more than
one year despite a lot of opened bugs, so one may question whether
this project is still alive. It may be time to check cntlm project
as a replacement.

Cheers

Bug#432657: ... buildd bug???

2007-07-12 Thread Ludovic Brenta
I think you're right: the buildds only build the arch-dependent
packages using dpkg-buildpackage -B. So, the solution to this bug is
to either move texinfo th Build-Depends, or to not call it when
building monotone (as opposed to monotone-doc).

That would also explain why, when I built without -B, I did not get
any errors: dpkg-buildpackage took Build-Depends-Indep into account.

Bug#427811: xserver-xorg-video-intel: Occassional hard freeze switching from graphics to text mode

2007-07-12 Thread Ariel Garcia
Hi Brice,

Just a quick note to say that I didn't forget about this bug. Forwarding
it upstream is in my TODO list but I am pretty busy these days so it
might not occur before a week or so.

thanks a lot caring!

Anyway, i was going to post some extra info about 2:2.1.0-1

(Namely: forcing the load of i915tex does not make any difference, and the
hang after coming back from suspend is not a hard one (ctrl-alt-F1 +
magic-sysreq can reboot the machine) whereas if i run xrandr (for
instance xrandr --verbose is enough) and then switch to vt1 the hang is
hard.)

BUT now since yesterday i have 2:2.1.0-2 and it came back from suspend
(once) fine and can switch VTs fine even after xrandr. Can it be or is it
just a fluctuation? Did some relevant patch come in ?
Oh... i also removed the call to 915resolution which was there since i
had to switch back to the i810 driver... Could this be a problem?

Best regards, Ariel

There are no change in the code in -2, we just fixed the copyright and
description, and added a xserver-xorg-video-intel-dbg package.

Oh... i also removed the call to 915resolution which was there since i

Should not, 915resolution changes some BIOS tables that the driver does
not use anymore since 2.0.0.

Hi, Stefan,

Thank you very much for taking time to investigate these CVEs.

it seems I was wrong about CVE-2006-7211, which is probably #362001
 fixed in 1.5.3.4870-4.

One less. This is good :)

If you have time, you may want to take a look ath
http://bugs.debian.org/src:firebird2

firebird2 was renamed to firebird1.5 after Etch release.

I am with limited connectivity until the end of the week.

If I may add one more wish, can you try to reproduce these bugs with
current firebird1.5 packages? Note there are two flavours -
firebird1.5-super and firebird1.5-classic.

Thanks again,

Bug#432519: omlet (part of ocaml-tools) does not respect the vim policy

2007-07-12 Thread Stefano Zacchiroli
reassign 432519 ocaml-tools
retitle 432519 omlet does not respect the vim policy
thanks

I had a look at this bug report and found the issue.

We have two of them:
1) omlet is installed or not in a system-wide manner depending on an
   answer to a debconf template
2) omlet (if installed system-wide) ships its file under
   /usr/share/vim/addons/

Starting from the latest vim /usr/share/vim/addons/ is no longer in the
vim runtimepath. This is *intended* as addons should be registered to
the vim addons registry and the user should be able to decide how to
install addons using the vim-addons tool.

All this is documented in the Debian Vim Policy [1]. Implement it is
pretty easy, you can look at example packages like vim-latexsuite,
vim-scripts, or vim-syntax-gtk.

Cheers.

Bug#432841: konqueror: Konqueror displays chinese looking symbols in new tab and metabar

2007-07-12 Thread Sjoerd Hardeman
Package: konqueror
Version: 4:3.5.7-1
Severity: normal

On my laptop, when opening a new tab in konqueror, the about:blank page shows
a line of
symbols that look like chinese to me. When opening the metabar in the left
pane no metabar is visible, only a bunch of these symbols.

This problem occurs only on my laptop, not on my desktop which also runs
Debian Lenny. On both systems the same version of konqueror and kde are
installed.

Thanks for your time!

Now that I look at them I see they're not RC, sorry about that. They
would probably be RC if gcc-4.2 were the default compiler. But I think
they're important enough that I don't want to start building other
packages on top of this release, and they affect the back-end.

There is also #432356 which means the build scripts will change some
more before the upload.

Bug#432847: /usr/bin/xload: xload needs a way to limit range of values it can display

2007-07-12 Thread Edward Welbourne
Package: x11-apps
Version: 0.1
Severity: wishlist
File: /usr/bin/xload

The vertical scale of xload adjusts to accommodate the highest load level.
It has horizontal lines to indicate the vertical scale.

A high enough load shall cause these lines to be so closely spaced
that there is no space between them: the entire display is then white
(I have reverse video set, so the background is black and scale lines
are white) and I can no longer see the load varying, on account of the
lines. Modern machines can endure quite immense loads, so this
problem can readilly arise (I routinely get it when running make -j -l
12, if some of the processes make first fires off do very vigorous
things once started). The machine is happy, but xload becomes useless !

If the load has a transient spike, the vertical scale adapts to let
the spike's top be displayed: if the spike is high enough, xload
becomes useless until the spike has scrolled off the left hand end -
or until I kill it and start a fresh xload, losing all the data that
was on display for the prior four hours (yes, xload is almost the full
width of my screen).

Note that setting the foreground colour of xload doesn't help: the
grid lines are drawn on top of the load data, so would hide it.

This could readilly enough be remedied by providing a command-line
option, --clip-at=n, to tell xload to not try to display any load
level above n. More fancy solutions are possible.

It may be sufficient simply to draw the load data on top of the scale
lines; then -foreground=red would suffice to make the load graph's
shape visible, even when the scale lines are so closely packed as to
form a featureless background (giving no indication of scale - other
than OMG that's high !).

If the vertical scale is huge enough that the horizontal lines use up
more than (say) half of the pixels available for vertical height (at
this point, it's possible - but getting hard - to read the display),
xload could drop the granularity of its vertical scale; only display
one in 10 of the horizontal lines, for example. Naturally, this would
require some way to indicate that the scale has been adjusted;
e.g. the load-level difference between horizontal lines could be
displayed in the top left corner of the chart. Of course, the value
of 10 (the base of the number system in use) could be controlled by a
command-line parameter; or it could just be hard-coded to ten or 0x10.

Alternatively, the horizontal lines could be dashed, with multiples of
10 using longer dashes (and multiples of 100 using longer ones yet).
The dashes for adjacent values should be staggered, so that they don't
simply from a solid vertical column (hiding data in the interval it
spans).

Bug#432845: Curses.Blinkenlights and TTY.TTYUI stopped working

I can't reproduce this, and have no idea how you are seeing that behavior.
What's your TERM set to, and what terminal are you running this under?

Bug#431054: aptitude doesn't respond to keyboard

2007-07-12 Thread agarberisoft

Upgrading the kernel to 2.6.21 seems to have fixed this.

For me it's the opposite!
Now it crashes just after the upgrade process, when you press Enter
to continue!

Here the last lines from my last update:

Bug#400583: Bug#390929: compiz: Another window manager is already running on screen: 0

2007-07-12 Thread James Clark

Hi,

I'm getting the same problem with decorations, just like to add my own
experiences.

Compiz runs fine, with full acceleration. But the decorations refuse to
load, and gtk-window-decorator starts thrashing 100% CPU time and
requires a good killing.

I'm running testing/unstable; Here are the versions of relevant packages:

compiz:
compiz-core:
compiz-gnome:
compiz-gtk:
libdecoration0:
 Installed: 0.5.0.dfsg-1

xserver-xorg-core:
 Installed: 2:1.3.0.0.dfsg-6

linux-image-2.6.21-2-amd64:
 Installed: 2.6.21-5

nvidia-glx:
 Installed: 100.14.11-1

Yes, I have GLX_EXT_texture_from_pixmap. My xorg.conf has the usual
requirements. Compiz itself works fine, as it has in the past; it's the
decorator that's not responding.

I thought it could be some conflict with old compiz settings, so I tried
again with a test user that I blank out. Same results:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ compiz --replace
GLX_EXT_texture_from_pixmap is available with direct rendering.

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ gtk-window-decorator --replace
gtk-window-decorator: Could not acquire decoration manager selection on
screen :0.0

Finally, I wondered if metacity was somehow interfering, so I logged in
with a failsafe xterm session. Running compiz works (no need for
--replace), but gtk-window-decorator still complains.

Any ideas? Or should I just wait until the new-fangled compiz-fusion
arrives in unstable? It's not like I absolutely --must-have-- window
decorations.

-James

Bug#432850: Problem in print pages option

2007-07-12 Thread Vikram Vincent

Package: Iceweasel
Version: 2.0.0.4
(Debian-2.0.0.4-0etch1)
Kernel: Linux 2.6.18-4-686
Severity: *important

*Bug Report***
When we need to print a single page we do the following:
1. ctrl-p
2. Print range, select 'Pages' from #1 to #1

The expected result is that only the first page prints.
But along with printing the first page the printer also prints a second
empty page.
This defect has been noted for all values of 'from' $$ 'to' as long as
'from'=='to'.
