Roland, I could handle out a patch to fix it for version 0.11.1 if you
like, I didn't know when we make a new upstream version available.

 Thanks for your remarks!

Fixing 0.11.1 is only necessary if the bug renders the program unusable.
 Is it unusable on all 64 bit architectures (e.g. x86_64)? (I can't
reproduce it on i386.) In this case, we would need to fix it in a point
 release of Debian squeeze 6.0.x.

Otherwise, no need to hurry, there will be some time left for the next
Debian version (wheezy). So if you plan to make a release within 12
months or so, this would be ok.

 Thanks,

 Roland

Didn't know if that would happens, we have switch to a new development
branch in the guitarix project, it's now called gx_head and will be the
successor for guitarix.
 http://sourceforge.net/apps/wordpress/guitarix/
So I will wait if more Bug's come along and could made then a minor
bugfix release for guitarix-classic, maybe in the meantime you could
have a look at gx_head.

Bug#613618: sysvinit: init emits warning when we don't have getty in /etc/inittab

2011-02-16 Thread NIIBE Yutaka
Package: sysvinit
Version: 2.88dsf-13.1
Severity: minor

On every boot, I see: no more processes left in this runlevel
which disturbs login prompt.

I am using ngetty (1.1-2) which doesn't use /etc/inittab
but invoked by /etc/init.d/ngetty.

Since ngetty works differently than traditional getty, we don't need
entries in /etc/inittab; single ngetty process watches all ttys
and login processes simultaneously, and it runs forever.

Perhaps, init assumes that it needs to watch some processes (such as
getty) to be respawned. But using ngetty, I don't have any such
processes.

JJIGW is a Jabber-to-IRC gateway compatible with the Multi User Chat
protocol. It allows you to join IRC channels and communicate with IRC
users via your Jabber client. Advantages of this package compared to
alternatives such as jirc are that it does not require each available
IRC channel to be configured by an administrator before Jabber users may
connect to it, and neither does it require a bot user to register on the
channel.

Better would be a way to tag them or set a hierarchy (like with

Bug#613624: winbind: Winbind leaks gids with idmap ldap backend

2011-02-16 Thread Kevin Shanahan
Package: winbind
Version: 3.5.6~dfsg-3
Severity: normal

Winbind has been leaking gids from the unix id pool in our idmap
backend. This has been happening because of some inconsistency in the
lookups of local sids were done for member servers. The sequence of
operations was like this:

- Try to lookup the sid-to-gid mapping for a local sid
- Lookup fails (did not look in the ldap backend)
- Try to allocate a new gid for the sid, using the ldap backend
  - Next available gid field in ldap is incremented
- Try to insert the new sid-to-gid mapping in ldap
  - First time ever, this will succeed
  - On subsequent attempts, this fails because the sid already is
present, however the next available gid is incremented every time.

As I understand it now, lookups are supposed to fail for these local
sids and no insert should happen. The fix for this is available here:

  https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=

I have applied the two patches attached to that bug to our local
winbind packages and the issue is fixed. The patches have already been
approved for 3.5.7 upstream. Any chance this fix can be added in a
stable update for squeeze?

Thanks,
Kevin.

I'm using an HP EliteBook 2540p laptop, which contains Intel Arrandale

my major display output and I always shutdown the internal eDP port by
 running on system start:
 xrandr --output eDP1 --off

However, after that, if I run xrandr again, the eDP1 port will be
inadvertently re-enabled, and this ruins my desktop topology since
some windows will be randomly thrown over to the eDP1 display that I
don't use. The most annoying thing is gnome-screensaver seems invoking
xrandr on its every start, perhaps intending to check the monitor
settings, and enables the eDP1 port -- so that my monitor topology
changes like crazy whenever gnome-screensaver kicks in.

Bug#613625: libroar1: Only suggest roaraudio-server

Am 16.02.2011 09:41, schrieb Maximilian Gass:

Please downgrade the recommendation on roaraudio-server to a suggestion.
One should not have to install (and run) a roaraudio daemon just because
one uses a audio player that offers it as one choice among many sound
outputs.

Compare this with libpulse0, which only suggests pulseaudio.

This is already fixed in svn and will be done with the next upload.

Bug#613342: Fix logrotate FTBFS for GNU/Hurd

Did you get in contact with the upstream developers? How does your
 modified patch look like?

The RedHat folks have come up with the following:

Hi,

I'm sorry, there was a bug in the patch I've sent to you in previous
email. I've totally forgotten the for cycle because of poor code
readibility and it double frees in some cases :/. Sending proper patch now.

Please check it anyway, it's pretty easy to get lost there.

Bug#477426: Incorrect SP (flow) setup when in tunnel mode.

2011-02-16 Thread Christian Cier-Zniewski
I can confirm this as a serious bug. Rafals patch shows exaclty where
the problem is.

In tunnel mode the FWD policy has to be added in addition to the IN
policy as suggested here:

http://www.ipsec-howto.org/x304.html

And here(patch for racoon):
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=292850

So the patch from Rafal should be modified in a way that a third policy
- the FWD policy
should be added instead of only replacing the IN policy in case of the
tunnel mode.

As a workaround you can manually duplicate the in policy
configuration, replace the word in
by fwd for the direction and add the new third fwd policy by using the
command line tool setkey.

(see e.g. http://www.ipsec-howto.org/x304.html how to do that)

Bug#604080: Xen domU fails to boot after install

2011-02-16 Thread Ian Campbell

Thanks.

This is a somewhat separate (although related) problem to the original
issue with installation.

The original issue was a complete lack of grub2 support in pygrub in
Lenny.

In this case it relates to unsupported syntax in the grub1 menu.lst
configuration file. This unusual syntax arises due to the grub packages'
attempt to ensure the upgrade goes smoothly.

If your dom0 supported grub2 then I think it would prefer the grub2
grub.cfg and you wouldn't see this issue.

Your workaround is reasonable.

Can you dig out the pygrub error code (in xend.log IIRC). Although I
doubt we will ever see this syntax again in future upgrades it would be
worth ensuring that pygrub handles it gracefully.

Ian.

First mount the /boot partition of your domU to the dom0 :
  xm block-attach 0 phy:/dev/vm/squeeze xvda w
 mount /dev/xvda1 /mnt

Then edit /mnt/grub/menu.lst, and comment thoses line :

 #title Chainload into GRUB 2
 #root (hd0,0)
 #kernel /grub/core.img
 #
 #title
 Ä
 #root
 #
#title When you have verified GRUB 2 works, you can use this
 command to
 #root
 #
 #title complete the upgrade: upgrade-from-grub-legacy
 #root
 #
 #title
 Ä
 #root

It seems Pygrub on lenny and squeeze doesn't understant this menu, so
comment it. Umount partition and disk :
  xm block-detach 0 xvda

Bug#613618: [Pkg-sysvinit-devel] Bug#613618: sysvinit: init emits warning when we don't have getty in /etc/inittab

I suggest you invoke the master ngetty from init, instead.

Since ngetty works differently than traditional getty, we don't need
entries in /etc/inittab; single ngetty process watches all ttys
and login processes simultaneously, and it runs forever.

And nothing ressurects if should it die or get killed by mistake/OOM
killer/memory corruption. That is not resilient.

Perhaps, init assumes that it needs to watch some processes (such as
getty) to be respawned. But using ngetty, I don't have any such
 processes.

I think it is on the sysv init design, yes.

OK, so I've rebased and tweaked Arthur's tree and pushed it over
http://git.debian.org/?p=pkg-php/php-file-iterator.git (preserving old contents
in -old branches).

It should be OK for git-buildpackage execution now.

Regarding the ownership of the ITP, it doesn't matter so much I suppose. Also,
the control file of the package will probably have to be adjusted so as to
correspond to collaborative maintenance.

But first a collaborative review is what we need, I guess ;)

Nice, thanks. Yeah, the install file was missing.

Perhaps you can confirm that indeed this is the way you need it:
 http://loeki.tv/~thijs/gpgv-win32_1.4.11-3_all.deb
just to double-check before I send it all off to the ftpmasters.

… and I should have made sure it was included:

 build-win32/g10/gpgv.exe usr/share/win32

IMHO, you should put gpgv.exe under usr/share/win32 . There is no policy for
such stuff, but gzip-win32 and cpio-win32 both put their *.exe there, so having
gpgv.exe there gives more consistency.

Bug#613634: linux-image-2.6.32-5-xen-amd64: Using pvcreate on a multipathed iscsi device produces a kernel bug

2011-02-16 Thread Simon Marechal

I'm using a Dell powervault MD3200i that has 2 iscsi controllers with 4

in a single device (configuration is attached).
All of this is used on a Xen host with 4 network controllers : eth2 and eth3
are dedicated to the iscsi network, and eth0 and eth1 are bonded and used in
the xen bridge.
Creating file systems and using them seem to be working perfectly after very
basics tests (mkfs.ext3, copy / read files). However, if I want to create a
volume group on such a device, everything goes west :

why not “just” write something that walks like an sbuild,
quacks like an sbuild, and calls cowbuilder?

This would solve all the problems with tearing down pak-

I think it misses a pear package invocation to apply the build.xml

IMHO, you should put gpgv.exe under usr/share/win32 . There is no policy
for such stuff, but gzip-win32 and cpio-win32 both put their *.exe there,
so having gpgv.exe there gives more consistency.

OK, those precedents make a good case for placing it there, indeed.

Just to confirm, besides the path, would it be what you need?

… except #363193 (I think pbuilder too needs some love,
 or team maintenance).

cowbuilder has one major flaw: the copy-on-write is implemented by
LD_PRELOAD, as a shared library copied from the host system. This
precludes the build environment from having a glibc incompatible with
the host, since it would break the copy-on-write functionality.
Additionally, the LD_PRELOAD symbol coverage may become outdated as
glibc adds new symbols, resulting in some actions overwriting the base
environment. Example: the new openat/mkdirat variants of the basic
system calls. These also need preloading. And it will break every
time a new symbol needing preloading is added.

I did look at it in detail a year or so back, but it's really too
fragile to use long-term. It's not that it doesn't work, it's that
continued reliability is not guaranteed.

sbuild has the ability to host alternative architectures in the
chroot; currently 32/64 bit versions of the same arch e.g.
i386/amd64. LD_PRELOAD would break here. Soon, we will also
gain the ability (via schroot) of using qemu-$arch-static and
binfmt-misc to run binaries from any arbitrary arch inside the
chroot to do builds for non-native architectures; here we also
can't do copy-on-write.

sbuild itself relies entirely upon schroot to do its virtualisation.
cowbuilder-like support could potentially be added to schroot to give
sbuild this functinality, but it would require some refactoring of
schroot to permit this. I can put it on my TODO list, but I'm afraid
it won't be a priority item.

The existing lvm-snapshot support is both fast and (bar kernel bugs)
completely reliable WRT data being genuinely copy-on-write. We now
have btrfs snapshot support when is even quicker to create snapshots,
but currently performs badly with dpkg; hopefully this will be
addressed by dpkg now squeeze is out. While these require setup by
the sysadmin, they both have the copy-on-write guarantees we need.

Regards,
Roger

I see, and then we would need the ldconfig from inside the broken
initramfs, so you need

A) add ldconfig inside the initramfs
 echo copy_exec /sbin/ldconfig /bin/
/usr/share/initramfs-tools/hooks/busybox

B) generate the resulting initramfs
(with the patched mkinitramfs adding /etc/ld.so.conf* to initramfs)

 mkinitramfs -o /tmp/foo.broken

C) unpack that initramfs

 mkdir /tmp/la cd /tmp/la; zcat ../foo.broken | cpio -i

D) chroot into it

 chroot ./ /bin/sh

E) run ldconfig three times:
(first invocation should tell that no cache around, second should
built it and we need output of third)
 ldconfig -p
 ldconfig
 ldconfig -p

thank you!

dpkg-source: info: building nut using existing ./nut_2.4.3.orig.tar.gz

By looking at include/nut_version.h and include/Makefile* I think that
nut_version.h is automatically generated and cleaned. Should it be
removed from nut_2.4.3.orig.tar.gz?

Bug#570700: Solved

2011-02-16 Thread Marius Ionel

Hi,

I was able to solve it. Not quite happy with the founded solution, but
at least it works without compromising security.

Installing Synaptic doesn't provide a good *.desktop entry for it or it
provides but doesn't offer an alternative configuration for systems with
sudo.

I'll state clearly: the system was installed from the begining from
amd64 netinst cd. The installer war launched with:

install d-i passwd/root-login=false.
The system was as minimal as possible (I've unchecked all options
presented by tasksel).

By the way, the installer does the job to configure the system for sudo
and all the others admin menus except Synaptic were worked out of the box.

Even policy-kit where well configured by all other apps

So I beleave it should be submit a bug to Synaptic mainteiner. Synaptic
should check what type of system is (with or without sudo). In the
*.desktop configuration file exec=su-to-root which would be never finded
in a system with sudo.
Or to remain as bug in sudo, so installing sudo should provide an
alternative to so-to-root, if possible.

Any way, I've solved modifying the exec, so new exec is: exec=gksudo
/usr/sbin/synaptic.

Very dissapointing, because I loose 2 weeks investigating that problem
and the solution was founded by accident.

Good Luck

Bug#612876: #612876: workarounds, merge suggestion

2011-02-16 Thread Jason Woofenden
Chromium is doing what it should (saying that it can handle the
http protocol.) The issue is a change in glib (in how it finds
url/mime handlers) which is not yet matched with an update to the
gnome settings panel for preferred applications.

The new system is kinda cool (follows an XDG specification instead
of using gconf.) Hopefully this will result in a common way of
selecting url/mime handlers that all desktop environments use.

So, until they get the gui preferences thing updated, here's how to
set handlers with the new glib:

http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=612985#31
http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2011/02/msg00479.html

This bug should probably be reassigned and set as a duplicate of
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=613381
but I'll let someone more experienced make that call.

Take care, - Jason

quassel-core stores things in /var/cache it oughtn't:

$ ls -A /var/cache/quassel
.config quasselCert.pem quasselcore.conf quassel-storage.sqlite

Quoting the Linux FHS

(http://www.pathname.com/fhs/pub/fhs-2.3.html#VARCACHEAPPLICATIONCACHEDATA):

/var/cache is intended for cached data from applications. Such data
is locally generated as a result of time-consuming I/O or
calculation.

The application must be able to regenerate or restore the data.

This is clearly not true of the quassel configuration file nor the
SQLite database in which all chat logs and other user data are
stored.

It is supposed to be possible to blow away the contents of /var/cache
without any actual loss of data, but that is not the case for this
package. /var/lib/quassel would be a more appropriate location
according to the FHS and (my interpretation of) Debian's
interpretation of them.

THX for pointing this out - I'll have a look.

Take care,

Thomas

Hi,

As a emacs org-mode user, I heavily depend on the M-RET key binding.
When you type Alt-Enter xterm should send ^[^J then emacs will
interpreters it as M-RET, but with this version of xterm this key
binding no longer works.

You can also use `cat` to check the key as cat will print them
literally. For example:

shows that I've typed three Alt-h combination. But Alt-Enter sends
nothing.

linux or openoffice this can be quite a problem if you drop out
half way through. it would be great if it could download using
--continue for wget, or whatever the curl equivalent is.

This does sound useful. As described below, though, dget
removes/backs up an existing file if its hash sum isn't what it
expected (which would be the case for a partial download).

When given a URL, the corresponding on-disk file is always
 removed/backed up and re-downloaded. If that was a .dsc/.changes,
then the hash sums of the files listed within are compared against the
corresponding hash sums of the on-disk files and if they don't match,
 removed/backed up and re-downloaded.

Maybe it would be good to consolidate the mis-matched hash behavior
into an option where one can choose remove re-download, backup
 re-download, or continue download?

I'd think the last two are more important, but all three would be nice
i suppose.

My concern with that is continue download doesn't ensure the
existing file really contains the correct information. It just
continues downloading from an offset based on the existing file. If
that existing contents are wrong somehow, then the entire file would
 need to be redownloaded anyway.

Thats a good point. I wonder how often it happens, and what the
potential issue is.

eg, if someone tried resuming because they are bandwidth restrained,
how will they feel about a small corruption causing issues.
Would they be able to finish it with rsync to flip the right bits, or
would it need to be redownloaded?

If that reproduces the error, it could be reported at

git bisect start
git bisect bad HEAD
git bisect good ghostscript-8.71

can guide through the bisection process afterwards to find the bad
patch (which is hopefully an underalignment problem or similar).

Any takers?

Bug#609363: dpsyco-cfengine: leaves man page in man database post removal

 Hi Karl

As far as I know there is no man database as you describe it.
Manual pages are simply installed to /usr/share/man/man?/name.?.gz

But maybe things have changed since I built this package, but I can
not find anything in the Debian policy handbook about this.
 http://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-docs.html

Are you sure about your statement?

Yes. I'm also sure about the result (removing this package leaves
traces of its man page). note the 'Processing triggers for man-db'
right near the very end of this paste. I suspect you're missing a
trigger or some configuration which should tell it to remove the man
page.

IMHO, you should put gpgv.exe under usr/share/win32 . There is no policy
for such stuff, but gzip-win32 and cpio-win32 both put their *.exe
there, so having gpgv.exe there gives more consistency.

OK, those precedents make a good case for placing it there, indeed.

Just to confirm, besides the path, would it be what you need?

I just tested within win32-loader and it Just Works™. So yes, having that in
the archive would be just nice.

Bug#403246: [buildd-tools-devel] Bug#403246: sbuild’s shortcomings

2011-02-16 Thread Thorsten Glaser
Roger Leigh dixit:

cowbuilder has one major flaw: the copy-on-write is implemented by
LD_PRELOAD, as a shared library copied from the host system. This
precludes the build environment from having a glibc incompatible with
the host, since it would break the copy-on-write functionality.

Interestingly, I don’t think that is true: cowbuilder installs
itself into the build chroot, and LD_PRELOAD after chroot(2)
uses the library from within (as it’s pathname based).

This is the reason that, when we want to use eatmydata, we have
to install it inside the base.cow as well, and that some pak-
kages spew out warnings about “can’t preload lib*.so” under
cowbuilder (kdepim3 is my example of today).

sbuild has the ability to host alternative architectures in the

You can do that with cowbuilder.

Bug#613647: Upgrade Lenny - Squeeze: failed to correctly parse slapd.conf / limits

2011-02-16 Thread Rainer Ruprechtsberger
Package: slapd
Version: 2.4.23-7
Severity: important

*** Please type your report below this line ***

Hi,

dist-upgrade Lenny to Squeeze failed with my slapd.conf. The following
statement (and more statements with size=unlimited and time=unlimited)
where not correctly parsed/translated:

limits dn.regex=^cn=.*,ou=replication,dc=volkshilfe-ooe,dc=at
size=unlimited time=unlimited

The resulting ldif contained:

olcLimits: {0}dn.regex=^cn=.*,ou=replication,dc=volkshilfe-ooe,dc=at

and ommited the time= and size= part. This caused a dpkg failure.
Manually fixing olcDatabase={1}bdb.ldif (appending the size and time
statements) and a following

dpkg --configure -a

resolved this.

Hi.

I think I'm done with packaging php-symfony-yaml (package sources in

May I ask for review and/or sponsorship (I may upload to mentors the

It is one of the dependencies of phpunit and doctrine (at least).

Bug#613648: ganeti2: Wrong permissions for /var/lock after gnt-node add

2011-02-16 Thread Ronny Lindner
Package: ganeti2
Version: 2.1.6-1
Severity: critical
Tags: patch upstream
Justification: breaks unrelated software

The command gnt-node add changes the permissions of /var/lock to d-wxrwS--t
(3661 octal, 1777 decimal!). Other programs are not able to create a lockfile
anymore. That was tested with logcheck, which did not work after adding a
ganeti node.

The fix is really simple: there are 3 occurences of 1777 in
/usr/sbin/ganeti-confd and /usr/sbin/ganeti-noded . They must be changed to
01777 .

Bug#613651: ITP: oxref -- cross reference utility

2011-02-16 Thread Frank B. Brokken
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Frank B. Brokken f.b.brok...@rug.nl

* Package name: oxref
  Version : 0.90.00
  Upstream Author : Frank B. Brokken f.b.brok...@rug.nl
* URL : https://oosix.icce.rug.nl/svnroot/oxref/
* License : GPL
  Programming Lang: C++
  Description : cross reference utility

The program oxref writes to the standard output stream a cross reference of
symbols defined in unstripped object files and/or libraries.

It demangles C++ symbols and can (probably) be used for a large range of
languages.

Oxref does not interpret the object files and libraries itself, but calls
objdump(1) to do so. The output produced by objdump is then filtered by
oxref, generating the cross reference listing.

Bug#602859: netgroup support for gosa

2011-02-16 Thread Andreas B. Mundt
Hey,

concerning the netgroups in GOsa, here's a collections of stuff that
might help as a starter:

Very basic draft patch (no creation of any netgroups, just adding
machines to existig ones):
 URL:http://lists.debian.org/debian-edu/2010/04/msg00124.html

Comment from Cajus:
 URL:https://oss.gonicus.de/pipermail/gosa/2010-May/004547.html

Perhaps it's possible to cooperate with the GOsa people, Benoit (on
freenode irc 'gosa') might know if there are already activities/how to
contribute etc. . IIRC they also have a repository for contributions.

Best regards,

 Andi

cond needs to be 8-byte aligned, but isn't.

From what I can tell the problem is this:
/* base/gpsync.h */
typedef struct {
void *dummy_;
} gp_semaphore;

/* base/gxsync.h */
typedef struct gx_semaphore_s {
gs_memory_t *memory;/* allocator to free memory */
gp_semaphore native;/* MUST BE LAST last since length is undef'd */
/*  platform-dep impl, len is gp_semaphore_sizeof() */
} gx_semaphore_t;

/* base/gp_psync.c */
typedef struct pt_semaphore_t {
int count;
pthread_mutex_t mutex;
pthread_cond_t cond;
} pt_semaphore_t;

gx_semaphore_alloc() allocates a 8-byte-aligned gx_semaphore_t, which
means that sema-native is *not* 8-byte-aligned (its offset is 4),
whereas alignof(pt_semaphore_t) == 8. The easiest fix is probably to
make sure gp_semaphore has maximal alignment.

Cheers,
Julien

Bug#613654: drbd8-utils: drbd init script stops boot if peer not available

2011-02-16 Thread Tim Stoop
Package: drbd8-utils
Version: 2:8.3.7-2.1
Severity: normal

Hi,

We're experiencing some trouble with the drbd init script. Specifically the line
that starts $DRBDADM wait-con-int. If the peer is not available, this shows the
dialog explaining drbd is waiting to connect and if one wants to continue with
the booting, to enter the word yes. However, after entering yes, the boot
still doesn't continue.

This doesn't happen when the initscript is started from the commandline
afterwards. Commenting the line out helps, booting continues and drbd keeps
polling for the other host anyway.

I couldn't find a config option for this, so I think this might be a bug.

Kind regards,
Tim

  Description : A read-eval-print loop in Perl
This is the implementation of a command-line interpreter for Perl. I wrote
this because I was tired of using irb when needing a calculator with a real
language within. Ah, that and because it was damn easy to write it.
 .
Shell::Perl is the heart of the pirl script provided with Shell-Perl
 distribution, along with this module.

Bug#613658: Please enable SQUASHFS_XZ et al for =2.6.38-rc1.

2011-02-16 Thread Trent W. Buck
Package: linux-2.6
Severity: wishlist
Tags: experimental
User: debian-l...@live.debian.org
Usertags: kernel

xz (a.k.a. LZMA2) is a shiny new compression algorithm that yields
smaller files than gzip, and is faster than bzip2.

For Debian Live images, especially, it would be nice to have better
compression of the squashfs root filesystem. This can be done by
setting

SQUASHFS_XZ=y

This was introduced between .37 and .38-rc1.

Less important, but probably Nice To Have, are squashfs LZO support,
ramdisk XZ support, and this BCJ (a.k.a. DEC, below) stuff, which
appears to allow arch-specific tweaks to compact the squashfs further.

Bug#252198: ddrescue: please include dd_rhelp

2011-02-16 Thread Michael Prokop
tag 252198 wontfix
thanks

* Ariel Shkedi asdeb...@dsgml.com [Die Jun 01, 2004 at 09:19:05 -0400]:

Please include dd_rhelp in the package. (Or in a differreent package
 with a suggests in dd_rescue.)

dd_rhelp is often the best way to run dd_rescue since it will do
 everything automaticaly.

 It's available from:
 http://www.kalysto.ath.cx/utilities/dd_rhelp/index.en.html

I just uploaded ddrescue 1.23, but I'm considering to drop ddrescue in the
long run, see argumentation by Antonio in
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=252198#27

I do not intend to include or package dd_rhelp, as even upstream
considers it deprecated:

| For some times, dd_rhelp was the only tool (AFAIK) that did this
| type of job, but since a few years, it is not true anymore : Antonio
| Diaz did write a ideal replacement for my tool : GNU 'ddrescue'.
| [...]
| Nevertheless, I really encourage you to use this replacement tool if
| it works for you (and it should be the case).
| [...]
| dd_rhelp was meant as a quick hack to implement what dd_rescue
| didn't do, and what couldn't be done at that time (AFAIK).

I'm therefore (finally) closing this bugreport with wontfix.

Thanks.

regards,
