Since it's currently virtual, it looks like I need to add
"ocamlbuild | ocaml-nox" as the build dependency
(in addition to another one on just ocaml-nox).
Is that correct?

Sorry if I missed this in an earlier discussion, but I couldn't find

When I build a bytecode-only app, I get warnings like this from
dh_ocaml (actually from ocaml-md5sums):
W: approx doesn't resolve dependency on unit Foo
one for each module Foo in the program.
Regarding the rationale for the -g policy:

the old behavior.
But before I submit a patch for that, are there other packages that
use OCamlMakefile that will break?

Since approx uses some C stubs of its own, am I correct that if I want
to avoid linking with -custom on bytecode-only archs, then the package
will have to install a DLL in stublibs along with the bytecode
executable?

I forgot that I had set pristine-tar = False in my git-buildpackage
config when I built and uploaded a new version of ocaml-sha.
Why so?
I wanted to temporarily turn it off (in ~/.gbp.conf
it from the upstream git branch).
What's the best way to recover from my screwup, so that future
non-sourceful uploads will be against the correct .orig tarball?

someone remind me whether library control files should have
a versioned build-dep on, say, ocaml-nox (= 3.11), even if there are
no 3.11-specific features in use? I guess it's better for
autobuilders, worse for backporters -- are there other reasons?

their runtime DLLs, and use conditional Makefile hackery to add them
to the Depends on bytecode-only archs. This is optimal but very
error-prone.
3. Find or write an automated tool to accomplish (2).
Am I missing anything?

Once it's been set by a DD upload, DM uploads to experimental should work
(I've done it for approx in the past).

build the orig.tar.gz from it, so where does pristine-tar come in?

repo already had a remotes/origin. So the git remote add origin on
line 58 failed. I think this should be changed to
git remote rm origin || true
git remote add origin ...
Thanks again.
