I've sane installed and running. Sane-find-scanner and scanimage -L detect
my scanner, and the test works fine. But when I launch xsane they say that
can't find any device. With simple-scan I have the same problem.
Any idea??

Unfortunately I was not able to resolve this problem. After a week
of troubleshooting, I've settled on some workarounds, which I'm
posting below.
Giving the limited information I've been able to find, I believe this
