I have just tried setting up both POP and SMTP on Microsoft Outlook on
my laptop... and they both work fine, it took me only a few minutes to
do it. (I had to change port numbers to those noted on my ISP provider's

I have the same problem, (10.04 LTS) , either changing the UID in the passwd or
using usermod:
- The System-Administration-Users and Groups tool stops seeing that user
- The login screen (GDT? GDM?) stops presenting the user as a possible login
option.

This is happening again in 10.04, without Compiz running.
Links or web files opened from any app (evolution, terminal, nautilus) open
FireFox or Chrome in the background. There seems to be some disagreement about
whether that's desirable or not, but many, including myself, want links to open

I am using 10.04 and getting the same error. Un-installing and re-
installing cdrdao does not help; Brasero still reports it missing.
Waah. (Pity to have to use a *cough* Windows machine for CD burning.)
