However, even when changing /usr/share/applications/gedit.desktop
When running on AC, the CPU governor is always set to performance.
In previous Ubuntu editions (I can't remember exactly) the gonvernor was always
set to performance after boot/login, but was switched to ondemand after a
minute or so (to speed up login speed as much as possible). But in 12.10

We discovered that I was able to boot when booting with the
nouveau.modeset=0 kernel parameter. (The radeon.modeset=0 kernel

Before migrating to Ubuntu Precise LTS, I was running Ubuntu Maverick.
On Ubuntu Maverick, typing the name of a command which was given a man
page, opened than manpage. On Ubuntu Precise, it does not work any more.
The same if in the search field, I type `man:command`.
I was not able to play any of my local music and movies. Rhythymbox player
would not play the songs even if I hit the play button. The movie player
crashed. But both the players started working fine after the reboot.
