[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1365943] Re: list addresses do not expand correctly
As of version 31.1.1 things are back to normal. ** Changed in: thunderbird (Ubuntu) Status: New = Fix Released -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to thunderbird in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1365943 Title: list addresses do not expand correctly Status in “thunderbird” package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Bug description: Click 'New mail', in the address field type in a list entry from your address book, e.g. 'List address'. Press 'Send' - does not work. Instead of expanding the list into individual addresses it used to do in the previous versions, it reports: List address List address is not a valid e-mail address because it is not of the form user@host. You must correct it before sending the e-mail. This bug has been introduced in transition from the previous version to the present. I have encountered it both in 12.04 LTS and 14.04 LTS which I run on my laptop and desktop, respectively. I am guessing it could have been introduced by trying to fix #1171543. A workaround: selecting list address from the address book generates an email with all the addresses expanded. Sadly, this does not work with forwarding emails, which I need to do often daily (emails to coworkers). The bug is still encountered after turning off all add- ons. Sometimes after logging in the text is suddenly much larger than before, and this change persists even after reboot. I was able to get back normal font sizes by modifying text scaling in unity tweak. I'd have to look at this again the next time this happens, but if I understand this correctly then sometimes the scaling factor is re- applied to the text scaling in cases where it was already applied before, thus scaling the text by 1.62*1.62 instead of only 1.62 as it should be. Public bug reported: We have been trying to land this transition for about 9 months now (well previously was 3.10, but that was largely the same). Go to input tab and select headset. Now, the headset appears selected, but in fact it is not and instead the settings for internal mic is shown on the right hand side (see screenshot). [Regression Potential] Yes, because the fixes touch generic code. I suggest we test on both laptop and desktop, and with both USB and Bluetooth. And keep an eye on unwanted profile changes or wrong information in the input level bar. Yesterday the set of packages below [1] was updated. I shut down, booted this morning and found out that I was not shown the lightdm login screen: I was stuck at the purple screen that precedes it (into which I enter my disk encryption password). Now the funny thing is that I could hear the lightdm startup sound and could actually login by typing my password (disk activity and started processes verify I am actually logged in), but I can't see anything: I'm still stuck at the puple screen. Uninstalling the nvidia drivers solved the problem: I'm typing this in a browser window using the nouveau drivers. I atttempted switching to nvidia-304, but that doesn't work either. Using those drivers I am shown the lightdm login screen, but after logging in I'm stuck with a screen showing only the background image. Nothing else is available, no keyboard or mouse trickery will reveal any menu, dialog or terminal to gain access. Since nouveau doesn't support a multi-monitor setup, it would be great if I someone could tell me how to get the nvidia drivers working again. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1372346] Re: [FFe] gnome-desktop 3.12 transition
I want to do this for you guys, but we have beta freeze today. We can't get this done in time for that. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1372402] [NEW] Unable to read photos on phone via Bluetooth
Public bug reported: I am able to pair, connect, browse and view files on my phone via Bluetooth (BT) with the default applications. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1372409] [NEW] The monitor won't wake up after going to sleep (initiated by locking, automatic or manual)
Public bug reported: I am using the 3.16.3 kernel and Mesa/drivers/Xorg from the Oibaf PPA - but this also happens when using drivers from the regular repositories. I can leave the computer to lock itself, or lock it by pressing Ctrl+Alt+L, and it power off the monitor after a few seconds (blue LED turns yellow), and then if I wait a minute - I will not be able to wake it up by moving the mouse or pressing any key. Switching to a TTY doesn't work either, but the keyboard is responding (can turn caps lock on/off). I have to restart the computer to get it in a working state after this happens. I would say that this bug is SEVERE, because you can lose important work. On proprietary AMD drivers (fglrx) - this works. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1372425] [NEW] XTerm CJK punctuation width not correct.
Public bug reported: I'm not fluent in English but I'll try my best to describe. I'm using Xubuntu 14.04, and recently came upon this issue using text editors in xterm. Sometimes the the width of Chinese full-width comma ',' is not correctly displayed(shortened), resulting in charaters 'overlapping'. See the 'overlapping' effect at: http://i.imgur.com/G0Qxi40.png See the shortened full width comma at: http://i.imgur.com/Tf2k92W.png Note that the first line shows 'shortened' full-width comma, second and third line show the normal full-width comma. -- Step to reproduce in Xubuntu 14.04: 1. I am using the version that is available on the Ubuntu software centre. The problem is that I can't make java applets to load any more. Here is my situation -- 1. I am using vanilla jdk (jdk 1.7.0_51) from the oracle site. 2. Previously in chrome, I have created a symlink of `libnpjp2.so` to the `/opt/google/chrome/plugins` folder, java applets were working fine. 3. After uninstalling chrome and installing chromium-browser, I made a symlink of `libnpjp2.so` to `/usr/lib/chromium-browser/plugins` folder, but java applets do not fire up any more (even from this site: http://www.java.com/en/download/installed.jsp) 4. Even `libnpjp2.so` appears in `about:plugins` in chromium-browser and showing it's enabled. What I have tried so far -- 1. After uninstalling chrome, the `/opt/google/chrome` was still there, I removed it 2. Made the symlink as the point 3 above to `/usr/lib/chromium-browser/plugins`, but no luck. 3. So, I installed `icedtea-7-plugins` from the Ubuntu repo and made a symlink of `IcedTeaPlugin.so` to `/usr/lib/chromium-browser/plugins`, but no luck, so I removed it. 4. Even added the java applet test page to the exclusion list in the java control panel. 5. Even cleared temporary internet files from the java control panel. 6. Did multiple cycles of enable/disable java plugins in chromium-browser. 7. Firing up the chromium-browser with `-enable-plugins` switch did not work. When I go to the java applet test page, what I can only see is a grey rectangle, nothing else. Please note, everything was working fine on chrome browser and also in firefox. Please also note that I do not want to install openjdk stuffs. any idea ? lsb_release -rd: Description: Ubuntu 12.04.4 LTS Release: 12.04 chromium-browser: Installed: 33.0.1750.152-0ubuntu0.12.04.1~pkg879.1 Candidate: 33.0.1750.152-0ubuntu0.12.04.1~pkg879.1 Version table: *** 33.0.1750.152-0ubuntu0.12.04.1~pkg879.1 0 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ precise-updates/universe amd64 Packages 500 http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ precise-security/universe amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 18.0.1025.151~r130497-0ubuntu1 0 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ precise/universe amd64 Packages To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/chromium-browser/+bug/1308783/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : desktop-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

It has the same touchscreen as the previous Series 7 slate, the Atmel maXTouch Digitizer. I modified /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/10-evdev.conf to add the following options to the touchscreen section: Option EmulateThirdButton 1 Option EmulateThirdButtonButton 3 Option EmulateThirdButtonTimeout 750 Option EmulateThirdButtonThreshold 50 and restarted X. Running xinput list-props shows that these properties are indeed set for the Atmel touchscreen device. However, when I touch and hold my finger in the same spot on the screen, nothing happens! I'm not sure what other files or output dumps would be useful for this bug (I'm a programmer but consider me a user as far as this stuff is concerned), so please let me know what else would be helpful and I will include it.
