In the latest ubuntu precise (12.04.5), the udev version is
175-0ubuntu9.8, and the keymap in the #31 still exists in this version

I installed ubuntu-12.10-desktop-amd64.iso into a usb disk on a non-
haswell machine, then update kernel to a version which support i915-hsw,
then use this usb disk to boot on a haswell machine, the ubuntu-12.10

I don't think the issue 1 is a problem, since the pulseaudio's design is
just like that. In the pulseaudio, the HDMI output does not have higher
priority than internal speaker. If users want the sound output via HDMI,

Thinkpad is called Microphone instead of headset-mic.
This bug only happens on Dell machines which can't detect headset
microphone from HW perspective, so when a headset is plugged in, a
headset-mic and a headphone-mic will be
BTW, If you plug a headset into a Dell laptop, and a "Unknown Audio
Device" dialog (unity-settings-daemon/plugins/media-keys/what-did-you-

Just checked the pulseaudio_11.1-1ubuntu4_amd64.deb, the dell-dock-tb16
-usb-audio.conf is in it, and will be put to the folder
/usr/share/pulseaudio/alsa-mixer/profile-sets when installing this
package. That is expected, so the bug 1718824 should be fixed in this
version.
I didn't test it on
Already pushed the fix to ubuntu-xenial branch, and this is the debdiff
against 3.8. If everything is ok, please trigger the SRU build.
