Hello Everyone,
I just semi-randomly noticed that https://github.com/apache/lucene/releases
shows 9.6.0 as the latest release i.e. not 9.7.0 but on
https://github.com/apache/lucene/milestones the 9.7.0 milestone is marked as
closed, as expected.
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/LUCENE-10477 could be backported via

Glad to hear there'll be a 8.11.2 release, thanks for volunteering to RM it!

Hello everyone.
So I was trying to locally test the small
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SOLR-11167 change on master branch and
encountered two things:
Question: What is the replacement for "cd solr ; ant dist server" usage?
If there is an equivalent -- "./gradlew -p solr assembleDist"
This sounds vaguely familiar. "http works, https does not work" and
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SOLR-13756 possibly related?

Well spotted! I'm not really familiar with the ".system" collection but from a
quick look around it seems that
https://github.com/apache/lucene-solr/blob/branch_7_4/solr/core/src/resources/SystemCollectionSolrConfig.xml
might be a relevant file?

Hi Dawid,
The symptoms you mention sound similar to the SOLR-11809 symptoms and the
SOLR-11501 changes are probably the 'mysterious' change you might have been
looking for?

+1 and I'd like to nominate Kai Chan's
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SOLR-11633
patch for potential inclusion in 7.3 even though I'm not myself familiar with
that area of the code.

Has anyone else also noticed or already followed up (with INFRA?) on the lack
of "ASF subversion and git services" updates on the LUCENE and SOLR tickets?
This one seems to be the most recent one.

Hello.
System.err.println("-doSlowChecks is deprecated, use -slow instead");
seems to break precommit (at least for me) on the forbidden-apis check?
The bot hasn't yet updated the LUCENE-8153 ticket itself with this commit,

Hi all,
Thanks for the warm welcome, and the opportunity to join your ranks as a
committer.
A bit about myself. I work for IBM in Pittsburgh, PA (USA), where I
I will update from 2017 to 2018 (without CHANGES.txt entries and JIRA ticket
since it's just two digits/lines and a trivial change).

At the risk of causing further confusion, I've added another note to SOLR-9743
but am not sure how one would most easily move forward with the problem,
perhaps there is no easy way?

Hi Adrien,
One more potential ticket for the pre-RC list: SOLR-9743 seems to need some
sort of follow-up w.r.t. solr/CHANGES.txt edits. I stumbled across it yesterday
but beyond adding a note haven't had bandwidth to help out with the follow-up.

I noticed that dev-tools/maven/pom.xml.template references a jetty.version
which is older than the ivy-versions.properties equivalent. Could we update the
pom.xml or is there perhaps a reason for the difference? (I haven't yet tried
to update it.)
