Dear all,
Today, v5.2.0 of the OpenStreetMap Carto stylesheet (the default stylesheet
on the OSM website) has been released. Once changes are deployed on the
openstreetmap.org it will take couple of days before all tiles show the new
rendering.
Changes include:
- Add rendering for

All style users who upgrade to v5.0.0 should re-import the rendering
database so that the changes to lua transformations will take effect.
Because of this requirement, it may take longer than usual for this
version to be implemented by the rendering servers for the "Standard"
map tile layer at

I'm trying to find out if the type=public_transport +
public_transport=stop_area relation or *=stop_area_group relation is
used by any developer or database user.
These relations are supposed to group together features like all the
platforms in a bus station or train station. However, it seems

Ajay,
It's great that you are adding more GPS traces for mappers to use.
These are really helpful for checking the offset of aerial imagery and
finding roads and paths to map.
I think you first 2 steps look fine. As far as tags for GPS traces,
you can look at some other traces in your area to
Has anyone already created a script to create marine water body
polygons, such as seas or bays, based on the location of the node and
the nearby coastline?
For rendering seas and bays at the correct zoom level, it would be
idea to know the approximate shape and size of the marine water body.
The

follow a particular direction?
No, the coastline still needs to be correct. The land polygons and (ocean)
water polygons are created with almost the same process, they both use the
OSM coastline as a source. See
The maintainers of Openstreetmap-carto would like to switch to water
polygons instead of land polygons.
However, some users reported problems with the simplified water polygon
shapefiles when this change was attempted in 2016. We believe the problem
is no longer present, because the German map
