t 'Vim' features don't work and they will file a bug tickets, which
will be irrelevant, consuming reporter's&maintainer's time.
This problem should be solved by user (when he know there is no Vim and
excepts to use Vi, then he creates alias) or by install

with scanning on my HP laserjet m1536... it
actually just loads older plugin anyway...
So it wouldn't work on machines were no previous plugin installed.
I'll revert the upstream change and report it.
