I've just sent following msg to Logitech support, but would appreciate
any input from the forum:
I've been using an old, but adequate Squeezebox (1) for a few years
now.
Yesterday I installed Squeezecenter on another laptop, did the usual
database building etc.
Is there any project to make the Squeezecenter and Squeezebox talk
with Pulseaudio ?
I am not a specialist, but Pulseaudio as a lot of convenient features,
like transporting sound on the network. It would be nice to have such
interaction.
I believe (but may be it is false) that this sould allow

OK I'll bite... The DMA2200 is a great device, but it only really
shines if you have a Vista Media Center HTPC solution in place - it's a

It looks like a (permanent) lock up, started by the SB reporting a
series of Slimproto errors over and over.
I don't think hardware as such is broke, but looks like a firmware
freeze of some kind ...

I have a similar same situation.
I use a Duet for my main system. It lets me keep the electronics in a
closed cabinet - only the controller shows.
In the kitchen, we have built in speakers in the ceiling. I use a

Just got a Squeezebox 3. Its remote sends unwanted commands to my Rega
Apollo CD player, and the Rega remote also commands the SB. I need to
find a way to get one device to ignore the commands of the other.

I don't have any experience with the Nevo, but the Harmony 895 (or 890
in the States) I have and will be getting one more. This one has a very
good IR transmitter as well as Z-wave RF

Well, it works in the sense that it can mimic the IR remote of the SB
classics and Transporter. Could be useful for someone who lost their IR
remote, especially for pressing the Brightness key to update firmware.
Beyond that I don't know of anything that has been developed yet.

I've had my share of problems with Rhapsody also, but the last time I
listened a day or two ago it was working fine. There was only one
track on one album that wouldn't play and I got an error message
(invalid combination of ..).

Invalid combination means a track is not available in MP3. They need
to do a better job of detecting that and fixing those tracks.

I agree that there's no real reason to pay for a Pandora account. If I
could pay extra to get unlimited skips, I'd do that, but that's not an
option. I suspect that Pandora and other music services will start
adding more ads to free accounts over time though.

I have the same problem as earburn, the artwork is only shown on the
first track of each album.
In my case, I believe the artwork is embedded in each file individually
(if I open a directory with music on my Mac then it shows the art as
icons for the MP3 files).

That Nevo looks really cool but it has to be installed by a reseller.
That sounds expensive. I like the Harmony 890 as well. But it would be
