We had a similar situation.
I hung oriental rugs on the side walls and behind the speakers; got
heavier drapes for the windows; and installed these in corners where
walls meet the ceiling

Hi everyone,
I own a SlimDevices (yes!) Squeezebox 3 (Classic) which was running fine
for the past few years. Since 3 or 4 weeks it randomly reboots.
Sometimes every 10 minutes, sometimes every two or three hours. Has
anyone got similar problems? Does anyone know how to debug this? Are
there any

Are you connected wirelessly?
I had something very similar happen to my SB2 (I believe the internals
of
the two are virtually identical). I changed to a wired connection (via
a
HomePlug style device) and the problem went away.
No it's connected via a wire
Might be the power supply (wall wart). Or it could be simply a loose
connection, try *jiggling* the cable end of the power input on the SB3,
see if it loses power.

That's a good idea, will try this this evening! Maybe the power supply
has reached it's end of life, it's still
It can also be a simple mechanical failure in the plug, so don't toss it
if it's that, then it's probably easily fixable with a soldering iron.

I'm not as active on the forums as previously, mainly due to a young
family but I still love my Squeezebox set-up too.
Listening to it is a daily part of life, I listen to a lot of music
still and we often listen to music with our son, its always a big way
for me to unwind and put my headphones
I agree, I made debugging more complicated by trying numerous things to
get it working again, however, something created the initial problem,
which I guess was a problem with the AAC feed for that particular BBC
station. I then started changing and just confused things. Either that,

Hi folks,
I did a bit of a spring clean on my music collection over the weekend.
I moved some music that I have not listened to in a while, to a back up
drive.
I have since tried to add some new music to my music folder but when I
started the scan, it's been running for hours looking for the
The way it _should_ work is to run a new and changed scan when you add
new tracks, and a full clear and rescan whenever you delete something
or move its location on the drive, say, to a different folder.
Sometimes the new and changed doesn't work even when it should, so in
those cases you

Thanks aubuti,
I aborted the scan, stopped the server, restarted it and completed a new
scan.
It completed in less than 20 mins.
The previous scan seemed to be stuck on one file. I could see this
happening when viewing the scan on the control panel.
Thanks for your advice
I'll show my public love too.
I bought a Boom and sync'd it with a server running on a media center
Windows based laptop. Saw the potential for it, bought a readynas RAID
array and switched the server to there; put the SqueezePlay client on
the media center. So I have Squeezeplay in my mainroom
I have all my music stored on a network attached RAID array, over 6000
tracks.
I'd like to create some playlists now, I've never much used them in the
past for either Squeezebox or other MP3 players.
What are people using to create playlists and save them away? I assume

I rarely hand select my playlists any more. My collection has gotten too
big, and Squeezebox makes it too easy to discover tracks I've
forgotten I have. Most often I use MusicIP to generate playlists based
on the acoustic fingerprint of one or more seed tracks. Kind of like

I am having a similar problem, I have a (2) sb2 and no remotes. Is
there a way to reset the SB2 with no remote? I am on OSX. Or
alternatively, where can I get a remote? I can not get either to SB2 to
hook up to the server.
We love our Squeezeboxes too. I think I've bought at least at least a
dozen of them for the house, my office and as gifts for family. Plus
all the friends I've turned on to it, and who continue to thank me every
time they see me. Like everyone else posting, one of the best pieces of

I don't spend nearly as much time tweaking my system as I used to. I
kinda miss it, but it's a sign that the system CAN be reliable, despite
what an outsider may think by reading this forum. Thanks to the 3rd
party plugins, particularly Erland's suite, I can listen to my music
exactly how I want
