I can't get SqueezePlay running on Windows 8, either.
Removed firewall rules for jiive, let them recreate, manually created a
rule for squeezeplay.exe. no success, although all ports for
squeezeplay.exe are supposed to be non-blocked.

He said it was good but not perfect compared to the Logitech hardware.
But he didn't say whether he'd tried tweaking the latency for this
player to get it perfect and whether it would then drift, and also said
nothing about whether two or more VAMPs will

To me this is an extremely complex topic, I've
been turning dials at random so let's not consider I have the final say.
I wouldn't say it is drifting, it's more like I can't get both to align
perfectly on the same tick. I won't try synching 2 sw

The hardware players have a resync mechanism built in, and so it would
be interesting to know whether the software player also has this.
The resync mechanism is in the server and the player software. I'd
expect SqueezeLite to support that, SqueezePlay definitely does.

I've played with the RT kernel described above. SBS and squeezelite are
running at normal prio (batch scheduling in RT parlance) and squeezelite
is reniced -5, so it comes on top of SBS, but not enough to lock itself

The only thing I'd like to say here is don't let a WD Green age much

The WD Green I am using now is 2 1/2 years old so I guess it is due for
a replacement. My computer is not on 24/7 so that might extend it's life

I was hoping someone might have some knowledge of the Constellation HD ;
I know it can be used in NAS servers but I am not sure if it would be a

the IR sensor or associated interface has failed. Any ideas?
1) Its not the remote as I have tried it with other SB's and it works
fine. Also tried other remotes to no effect.
2) Everything is fine via IPeng and web

Yes it is. I suppose that a server reboot wouldn't do any harm to check
that the settings have taken effect.
