Hi Reinhold,
After I got the SB players all recognised and talking to the server, I
started checking out the netgear kit and their forums. It seems that
when it works it's OK, but that some of the stuff can be a bit flaky.
I'm sure it can't be the best answer to networking the house, but

Sounds like batteries in the SB3 remote - I once had a similar remote
problem and replacing "new" batteries was needed as "new" batteries
weren't good for some reason.
You can check SB3 IR with a digital camera - IR light will appear white.
Check that remote IR lights with repeated key presses and

Bit of a cop out answer but have you tried factory resetting the SB?
I've lost count of the times various devices have been cured of weird
stuff like this by a reset or reboot.
Also if I remember correctly the SB3 has an additional reset for an
xlink reset that is worth a go if a factory reset d
Just to confirm your assumption: additional leading zeros in parts of
the IP address are not significant.
Regarding your netgear stuff: I don't have experience with that, but I
understood you have several of them. Did you try to exchange positions
already?

Hi all,
My SB3 has been working great until the other day when it was totally
unresponsive to the remote control unless I pointed the remote almost
directly at the SB3 (and this would only work if I was pretty much
directly in front of the SB3).
I blamed the server and switched to mysqueezebox.co

Ah yes I forgot about using a wire and that does work fine from my
tablet as I've just found out. Bit cumbersome and primitive though. (I

Yes, the file paths are identical in the iTunes exported and the VLC
saved playlists. Plus, the iTunes exported playlist, which LMS and the
SBs show as "Empty" play perfectly in VLC.

Hi epoch,
Thanks very much for your reply. I have made a bit of progress.
Apologies too, because I realise that folk posting questions, then doing
some of their own problem solving and basic checks must be a pain.
I took the SB1 - it's IP address is 192.168.0.8 by the way, so not the

Can you see what address the SB1 gets for itself ?
(I hope it's not 192.168.0.11, since it looks like this is the address
used by the SBS server.)
Assuming the SB1 gets an address ok, and since the server seems to be a
Windows machine, have you checked that the firewall is relaxed enough

Hi.
There are a couple of music shows I really like that are available only
via Mixcloud. Given that there is no Mixcloud plugin for Squeezebox, I
can't stream Mixcloud music to my Squeezebox Classic or Touch. So, I
currently send Mixcloud audio from my laptop computer to my hi-fi via an

Hi folks,
I've recently added to the 'SB' family, and it's meant some relocating
of players.
One of them, an SB1, seems to go through the setup routine OK, until a
stage when it says it can't get an IP address for the server and that I
need to add that manually. (It then says 'setup complete', b

For the radio you could go low tech and just use the line in with your
phone or tablet

Yes. Get Google to release a general API for third party developers not
tied to Android OS. ;)
