computer based players, so perhaps most are just used to it now. I
don't listen to podcasts that much, but it stinks you lost some
functionality.
Perhaps, to your point, if it would have been possible, it would have
been nice to have the option of one or the other.

out of date with the rest of my library. I would
love to just have a playlist that I can add music to and hit play and go
out to the garage and listen for hours where I don't care what's on,
just as long as it's my music.

anymore. Where does Amarok store the connection
between the music and the cover image? In collection.db? And if so,
is there a way I can use that to rebuild the connection between md5 and
the tags? Thanks!

Copy Image Location, you can paste that URL into the set
custom cover option in the cover manager. It will download the image
directly.
Will have to try the Google image search for my missing covers.

screw it up!!!
Bottom line - quality is in the details! You can have plug'n'play, but
the ability to have seemless, flowing music through my Hi-fi is
something I think Apple will be hard pressed to do. Does SS have
improvements needed? Sure, but we'll get there!

Thanks KDF, bug 1649 is the closest I found. I did see some of these
others in the bugzilla search, but didn't find 1649. I'll put vote
next to it with a comment.
I'll also look into your SongScanner plugin, first I've heard of it.

I may play around with it and see if it works. Probably later have to
rename all the files to folder.jpg or something like that

Plugin download count doesn't take into account how many people just use
Slimserver without a Squeezebox, maybe just with Softsqueeze or other
player. Not a bad metric, but I think there's too much variance.

. If the bit errors were not catastrophic
(hardly audible), but frequent enough, it's possible a delay could be
noted.
Basically, I don't know, but there could be reasons. I could look into
the burr-brown data sheet to see if I can find anything that might be
suspicious.

These work for me on my ubuntu system, and I think these are the only
ones that are functioning on my system, meaning I only use the
transcoding to mp3 or decode to FLAC. These worked with my breezy
default install of sox.

There is a feature request link in this same thread. 96kHz is double
48kHz, so that's why it's playing at half speed. 48kHz is the max
sample rate at this point.

there is any option to get rid of the .ogg files in my library, or do I
have to sort out all the other random music files (not oggs) separately
and add them to the slimserver library in a separate file from the

Thanks!

counterpart, include
that file in the library.
There are problems with this, I know, like wav and aiff don't have tag
info, so who wins between say wav and flac? Who wins between ape and
flac? but the general idea would solve this problem.
Awaiting any other solutions...Thanks.
