I started it.
Now the same symptom is available in the VortexBox distro !
I updated a copy of my LIVE server and updated using the VortexBox
webUI.
The update didn't burp.
Since the db has changed to SQLite, a full clear and rescan ensued.
18 hours later, pre-cache scanning is knocking
So Ok:
On yesterday's build, I have the same symptoms but the server has
artwork and everything seems to work after I cancel the scan.

Ran the 13 Aug daily on the Vista Ultimate host with no VM's running.
Same death: 38 of 1901 in pre-cache phase. Abort scan did not kill
scanner so I had to use task manager again.

HA I was JUST going to post I called support and was told to put
fab4.bin on an SD card and reboot the Touch. That did the trick. I KNEW
there had to be a way of doing it via the Touch's built in server.

Most important: when I point to another SBS and get the WebUI, the
pulldown does not show all any of the players attached to the
retartded SBS server.
This prevents me from using any other SBS machines I had previously and
