So I take it that Gracenote has finally pulled the pin on the MusicDNS
servers being available publicly?

I am assuming with the server down the Fix Tags feature is dead in the

That was tremendously useful for mp3's with missing or wrong tags.
Does anyone have an alternative for that?

Man, what I wouldn't give for a premium key. If I could get one I could
use genpuid on Linux to update the database, but instead I have to use
the windows version to archive the tags.
Is there any indication they are coming anything with this technology?
I don't have a premium key and run Ubuntu. I archive (fingerprint) all
my MusiIP songs. I use MusicIP under WINE . I had it running under Linux
without WINE for a while but it involved installing really old versions
of JAVA and proved unreliable.

Just ran GenPUID to analyse some tracks and it's working fine. I don't
think Gracenote has any incentive to block access to the MusicDNS server
because people using it enrich the MusicDNS database which Gracenote in
turn uses for commercial purposes.
