Sorry if I've misunderstood this buy aren't you changing 2 things at
once which is pointless for narrowing it down.
Try leaving as it is but using the internal player, you could also try
connecting directly but sticking with Squeezeplay.

Did as you suggested. Inserted an sd-card and used stock player - pop
is still there! I also tried with an Xperia Mini Pro and there's still a
pop but a little less harsh - on the other hand it's is - with the
Xperia - a popping every second while pausing the player; it's like a
rolling sound, a
So am I right in saying it's only when in the dock you get the pop? Does
Squeezeplayer do the same if just connected directly to the the amp, how
about if you use the input on the amp you used for a direct connection
with the dock.
Again apologies if I'm misunderstanding what happens but it
I'm sorry, but I cannot - in any way - reproduce the non-popping. I
tried to many different ways, I believe, and I know suspect that I did
something wrong when managing to get it connected and not pop. But,
with the volume on maximum and a lower amp-volume it might not be that
huge a problem.
To be honest, I can now see that it wasn't all perfect. I have a harsh
pop everytime I start, and stop, playing a song. I don't have this
with my Touch connected to a receiver. Anyone know why I get it and what
to do?
I don't recall that happening on mine.
Does the same thing happen with other audio on the desire? Might be
worth loading a few tunes on a memory card and trying the stock player
to see if it's SqueezePlayer or the phone producing the noise.
What amp are you using. Your description of
Connecting the phone directly (Tuner line-in) and using stock player
doesn't produce the pop. Switching from Aux to Tuner and using Squeeze
Player still makes it pop.

I have a Touch and a Radio, and an old smartphone with a dock. Let's say
the Touch catches fire: Could I install Squeezeplay on the smartphone,
connect it to my stereo, and get it to sync with my radio and still use
the Squeezebox app to control both of them?
Depends on the OS of the smartphone.
If its Android there's 2 apps available that do playback. Squeeze Player
and SB Player.
If its iOS then iPeng has an in app purchase for playback.
All of those options will work very similarly to any other player,
however certain streaming apps only work on

SB Player I believe is 4.0+ anyway. So Squeezeplayer is the one by
default.
I personally use Squeezeplayer on several different devices including an
old desire Z with 2.3 and it is brilliant, although I do sometimes sync
with other players it's not in a location where you can hear both
players

Yes to controlling it with any other method, including other SB or the
web interface. I've controlled the player on a phone with a SB Touch.

vTuner is a clunky, very basic, limited content service. Their web
interface has not been updated since 2007 (since I first used it). But
it is very reliable.
How that
I have just ordered three SB Touch from Logitech UK for the excellent
price of GBP 129.99 each:

Blemished box stock, but who cares at that price? :D

it'll be interesting to see what happens in the coming months, a number

are moving into the music/internet radio space. Simaudio is one, of

I'd expect to see a revamped Radio before anything else. Something that
functions a little better as a bedside clock-radio. (Why is that I have
a snooze button on my $9 alarm clock, but Logitech couldn't afford to
include one on a $180 device?) And something that could be sold at a
lower price

True, the Touch wasn't originally leaked here, but certainly these
forums helped spread the leak.

The catch-22 here is that logitech doesn't announce future new products.
We'll just have to wait until it happens. could be next week, could be
two years. The TOUCH is not really that old given the historic product
release pattern of SB Players.
