Just installed the SqueezeCenter 7.0 beta. Is there a way to set it up
to run SqeezeCenter automatically when starting the computer without
automatically opening my web browser. I recall that I was able to do
this with SlimServer 6.5, but I can't recall how and I can't see any

Yes, the rack is possibly interfering with the signal, but probably your
biggest problem is you have the router in the worst possible location.
I've always been told routers/APs need elevation, and I have mine about
as high in my residence as I can, no reception problems even in my
basement.

have albums showing up 10 times or more!?

some steps on how to get this new pc connected to the current player.

Is this when you're playing both SB3's? The same, or different stuff? If
when both are playing, does the stuttering stop when the other player is
stopped?
Are you transcoding the music on the server? If so, does your server
have enough 'grunt' for the job?

This is a new setup procedure to me, but it sounds like the SB3 isn't
connected with the wireless? If you leave the ethernet connected,
everything works? You've gone through some sort of wireless setup
during the process? Can you confirm wireless setup and signal before
unplugging the ethernet?
Transporter and Squeezebox will also respond to the infrared signals
intended for a JVC DVD player. The instructions that came with your
universal remote tell you how to program your remote to send these
codes to any Slim Devices player.

Well I've tried everything but still can't get it to stay on and serving
slimserver to the SB3's so I'm going to try a complete reinstall of OS/X
and if that doesn't do it I'll get shot of it.
Is it possible that it is slimserver itserlf that is going to sleep (or
something to that effect)

File permissions are system, wheel, everyone have Read and wire
access. Itunes is set up this way so that I can share the music library
with another account on my Mac.

server. I know the Lacie is 4 times the cost of the Netstore, but it

I think I blundered onto the solution: the V7-14891 beta of
Squeezecenter (aka Slimserver) fixed the startup with option at system
boot under MAC OS10.5. Using this option I can play iTunes-Plus music
to my heart's content. Using the startup never option, and manually
starting Squeezecenter means
I'm a reseller for the Audioengine and I agree the sound is incredible
for what they are. If A5 is too big, then A2 delivers similar sound in
a desktop friendly size. You certainly don't have the range and depth
of the A5 but it's pretty darn close.

This time I tried music. Test file is 15 seconds of music(stereo).
I first normalize this test file to -30, -45 , -60, -75 dB.
After that I convert this files to mp3 ( lame insane preset).
Next step is decoding all files on PC with MADPLAY in 24 bit mode.

I think the most of the current SqueezeBox owners fall in either of the
following categories:
- Computer geek
- Audiophile
Both these categories needs a computer at home and thus also likes to
setup a local SlimServer. The audiophiles because the internet radio
sound quality is't good enough and

As Mark mentioned, you can have other computers on the network

The Squeezebox in my bedroom seems to respond oddly to IR commands sent
by the IR remote for my Lutron light dimmer. Whenever it sees any IR
command sent by the Lutron remote it repeats the last command that was
received from the Squeezebox remote. Usually that last command would
be a power
