Great news on the streaming. I find the iPhone 3G to be surprisingly
good sounding with good iems (using AT CK10) when streaming flac. I
expect the iPad to be even better sounding.
I really regret not being able to run Safari simultaneously as I

It seems to work on IE8, except that it requires quicktime on the pc
which is not going to happen.

I had a hum problem with my Transporter and it turned out to be caused
by the TV cable. I installed an isolation transformer on the TV cable
and the hum went away.

should be able to sync any two or more players from the
controller/player without have to be one of them. And thereby I
introduce a third version of yours two possibilities where you first
choose the player you want to sync with

as my squeezebox duet controller has automatically updated to the 7.4
firmware and I need the newer version of squeezecenter/server/control

I believe what iPeng does on the sync and the volume access could be
done on the controller as well:
1. Sync.
- offer a list of all players and allow to check some of them with a
check mark
- selecting a sync menu (or pressing + or something) gets you to a menu
which shows the different players
I forgot if a better UI to actually sync players is done:
It solves a 1/3 of the problem which still leaves Alarm and Volume
handling to creative solutions .
Alarm handling is my real problem I don't want it to blare out of all
players.

Thanks Phil. This is the third fridge in as many weeks. The one here
when I moved in was u/s. The landlord replaced with new one which had a
duff thermostat. The third one appears to work fine. All three caused a
spike.

to rip CD's and chose the WAV format as it appeared to be the least
loss. I'm using a Duet and have had a few problems with the library,
biggest bug bear is that the first track of each album is not stored in
the album but is

players and have excellent tag support.
dBpoweramp or EAC can rip directly to flac, WAV files can be converted
to flac by many applications (FLAC frontend dBpoweramp foobar2000 and

me. I have a distribution box that feeds the Cable TV line into all the
