1. When alarm is playing, if I press pause, it goes into power off mode, rather

power down when I connect more than one device to it now. Overheating
routers is a known issue but I wondered if anyone else is having a

Get VMWare for the MacBook and find someone with a copy of XP that they
aren't using anymore. With VMWare on the Mac you can even have
dbPowerAmp appear as if it is a normal Mac app.

aren't transferable between machines. So you couldn't use an XP

what is on the screen but in your case you don't seem to care. You
could use wavinput plugin to do that.

Well, I've not uploaded a complete image, because it takes way longer to
download/put it on the USB key, because large parts of the image will be
empty.
I think the easiest way is to download an Ubuntu CD, boot your PC from
this CD in a Live-Ubuntu (that does not change anything on your

Yup, that's what I did in the end, I felt sure I was missing something,
but alas no.
I went for the Harmony One BECAUSE it was by Logitech, my assumption
being that although its a lot more expensive than the other one I was
looking at, it should be no problem with compatibility with my
Digital Music Server is just the generic primary category for devices
that stream/play digital music files. It doesn't really fit in any of

I have had situations where we had to run networking over cat3 due to
very old buildings. Most modern 100mbps PHYs are good enough that it
should work reasonably well. Gigabit on the other hand is not going to
work well. It might get a link but you will get mostly packet loss.

I think alarms came with the Boom, circa 7.2 (?) I use alarms throughout
the week (not only in the morning).
The CLI (or even Json) is nice too, if you want to automate stuff. I
use power management on the music server; the CLI and the presence of
mySB.com on the internet made that possible.

That was the thing that consigned mine to the garage - I had it running
through a daisy-chained 10Mb hub for a while but the number of boxes and
plugs just got out of hand -

if i do aplay -l they show up

I have a few Squeezeboxs we are testing out for one of our business
clients to get music into their buildings.
So we set up a custom radio using shoutcast and winamp as a test run,
and all was great!
But now they keep droping the stream..
So far i've tried pretty much everything i can think of
I overheated my WRT54GL when it when sitting on top of my computer.
I moved it and it was ok.
I use tomato software with it I have not tweaked the wifi ro the
highest setting 80 -100mW is enough.
The overheating did not start until i got more squeezeboxes :-)
But a better location solved the
