Just for the record, this problem went away after I upgraded my
Squeezebox Classic from firmware #130 to firmware #132.

How about adding some type of sound-sensitive visualization, or the

SBS 7.6 has a new database schema which requires ACC to be updated to
become compatible.
SBS 7.6 will also by default use the new SQlite database. SQlite is not
made with multi-user remote access

Are there third-party vis Apps out there? Didn't find any on the

Apple's sudden interest in 24-bit sound is likely in preparation for new
hardware, and where Apple goes, folks tend to follow.
I like the idea of 24-bit files, but my equipment and ears cannot
distinguish it from 16-bit.

The volume curve in SqueezePlay source-code has 100 entries.
Based on comments it's derived from Booms volume curve.
So I guess at least on the newer devices 100 discrete values are
available indeed.
You are right. I remembered that wrongly.

I bet they saw services like HDTracks taking some of the typical iTunes

SlimProto sends values based on the Boom volume curve - and SqueezePlay
uses them 1:1.

Me too, but I'm a bit puzzled by the leap to 24-bit. I mean, does
iTunes store even offer anything lossless yet, even in 16-bit?
