[slim] Network Drive Doesn't Work With Slim Server

2006-05-02 Thread jameswendt
I keep my MP3 collection in a folder on a valid mapped network drive. The drive is O: and the folder is \music. When I enter O:\Music as my music folder, I get the following error message: New value for Music Folder rejected: Oops - o:\music doesn't seem to be a valid directory. Try again.

Coming to your points: my lyrics are in French and Spanish, have been imported via Notepad trough iTunes v6.0.1.5 into Slim. I am unable to say whether that means Unicode Utf etc. MP3Tag Studio 3.05 identifies the tags as ID3v2. One question: whether synced or not, the lyrics don't show as such

Well, I solved my problem. I do my ripping on a Windows XP box then copy the MP3s to my Linux box. Most of the time, I do this over my network; I open a Nautilus file brower, navigate to the Windows folder where the newly ripped MP3s reside then copy them to the Linux Music folder. But I

[slim] New Music Bitrate

2006-05-02 Thread Arie
Hi, I have two (hopefully) simple questions. When I show Bitrate on my SB for 320, the format is 32. Is it possible to limit this to 320? In New Music the album is show first. I would like to see the artist first, and then the album. Is this easy to change? Thanx -- Arie

[slim] Wireless issues with 6.2.2

2006-05-02 Thread dSw
I upgraded to 6.2.2 during the last few days and tonight I discovered that I'm having problems FTPing large(ish) files across my WLAN from the machine that uses my SB2 as a bridge. I use FileZilla to FTP files up from a Debian-based server through my SB2 to a Windows XP upstairs and the copy is

Actually you can do this by going to Player Settings - Audio - Bitrate Limiting. There are complete instructions where to install LAME in the Help - Frequently Asked Questions section of SlimServer: Windows Users: * Download LAME 3.96 from one of these mirror sites * Extract two files

Do you have any recursive network shortcuts? Any long playlists, recursive playlists or playlists with deleted/obsolete items? Mark, thanks for taking the time to reply to my post. You'll have to put that in layman's terms. I'm not sure what you mean by 'recursive network shortcuts'. At this

I resoldered all the non-SMD pins (mainly connectors/vfd interface) and i sanded the four sides of the uPC (first remove the square IC from its PLCC socket off course) I think the sanding caused my device to work again, but i can't really tell because i did the soldering and sanding in one go.

Sorry about that. By recursive, I meant playlists or shortcuts that ended up referencing themselves. A circular reference. I don't have much more advice, but I remember seeing something about iTunes synchronization time. I believe if you back it off a bit, i.e. synch every hour or so, the
