Re: [slim] ANN: Orange Squeeze 1.3.0 released!
I've just bought my first tablet (Lenovo tab a10) and am looking for an app that can browse by *folder and by genre*) my music library *AND* most of all *that can display the albums with coverarts* (I have folder.jpg for each album). From what I've seen on Googleplay, it seems it could do that for the browsing experience by *artist* but I'm not so sure when browsing by *folder/genre*, and at what size does the cover displays, it would be nice to have it not too small. It would be even better to have zoom functionnality... Sorry I didn't read the whole thread... I'm feeling rather pessimistic. I predicted early on in the fiasco that the probable BBC response would be to simply tough it out. Re: [slim] Running Duet receiver or Touch via ethernet ?
Thanks again - but I am really struggling with setting up the Duet system to play from LMS 7.9 on the laptop via ethernet. I've tried a Duet factory reset but can't seem to force it to use ethernet - I only got the option once in many screens of setting up on the Controller, and then it didn't connect. I *have* finally managed by trial and error got it to connect to LMS via router's wifi network, netow but this is not really what I want. The Touch is definitely a lot easier to setup for ethernet than the Duet ! I give some more detail of the setup and hopefully one of you kind folk will talk me through how to get this to work ... Home wifi = mynetwork, autochannel Router wifi = O2network, channel 3 Ethernet cables running from both laptop Receiver into the router. Tried disabling wifi in laptop to force LMS connection to be ethernet only, but couldn't get Duet to connect. Re-enabled laptop wifi connected to O2network, and also selected this in Controller as network to connect to. This has finally got the Receiver to connect to LMS and it's working fine now. But how do force the Receiver to connect via ethernet ?? Re: [slim] [Announce]iPeng 8 now on the App Store
IPENG 8.1 ADDS QUICK SWITCH AND MANAGEMENT FOR FAVORITES AND STORED PLAYLISTS, NOW FULLY SUPPORTS VOICEOVER As springtime approaches, iPeng comes up with its first bigger update in 2015, bringing you some brilliant and fresh functionality for your music control. QUICK SWITCH The first novelty we would like to introduce to you today is Quick Switch, a functionality - inspired by Michael Herger's Music Walk With Me-plugin that allows to switch your players without interrupting your music with only one swiping gesture. Forget about manually syncing your players, saving playlists or re-starting your album and all the other inconveniences you had to take to take your music from one player to the other before. Now iPeng does it for you. [image: http://penguinlovesmusic.de/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/QuickSwitchDemo1inf.gif] EDIT FAVORITES AND PLAYLISTS Further improvements concern the management for Favorites and Stored Playlists. Many of you have asked us for a capability to edit these lists, so iPeng 8.1 comes with a functionality that allows you to re-arrange, rename and delete them. FULL VOICEOVER-SUPPORT Last but not least, iPeng 8 now fully supports VoiceOver on both iPad and iPhone, an important improvement for visually impaired users. You can find more details on the new features along with a description on how exactly they work in iPeng's blog: http://penguinlovesmusic.de/2015/03/11/ipeng-8-1-adds-quick-switch-and-more/ --- learn more about iPeng, the iPhone and iPad remote for the Squeezebox and Logitech UE Smart Radio as well as iPeng Party, the free Party-App, at penguinlovesmusic.com *New: iPeng 8, the Universal App for iOS 7 and iOS 8* pippin's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13777 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=102280 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

It is not linked to my PC with the Media Server. oldmako's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=64179 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=103300 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Running Duet receiver or Touch via ethernet ?
swayzak wrote: Thanks again - but I am really struggling with setting up the Duet system to play from LMS 7.9 on the laptop via ethernet. I've tried a Duet factory reset but can't seem to force it to use ethernet - I only got the option once in many screens of setting up on the Controller, and then it didn't connect. I *have* finally managed by trial and error got it to connect to LMS via router's wifi network, but this is not really what I want. I suppose I could use O2 router wifi at the evening do (and maybe use inSSider to check for a clear channel to use) for wireless playback. Would take Touch as backup though. Getting receivers to change from wireless to wired can be a pain. It's been a while, but I think I last did it using the net-udap utility... I'd say, if the Touch is working as you want wired, to go with that. You can try the net-udap approach... it's not TOO hard, but can take some playing around to figure it out. When you tried to reconfigure using the controller, did you ever try a full reset of BOTH the receiver AND the controller? tcutting's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17402 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=103289 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Running Duet receiver or Touch via ethernet ?
Thankyou Yes it is turning out to be a pain ! However the Touch players are SO good I'd hate it if one of them got damaged. I have now succeeded ! By following this (found by googling) .. http://support.logitech.com/article/11914 I will give this a go a few more times before the wedding to make sure it's robust. I emailed Jack at the Guardian yesterday and suggested he should read some of the later comments on his post, also gave him an update on the BBC shutting down their thread after a week of indifference. ftlight's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=5294 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=103311 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Announcement - ickStream open beta release on Squeezebox !
@Pippin I know we discussed this before, but I'm not sure what the conclusion was...so here we go again.. ;) Wimp HiFi/Tidal have a fallback option to mp3 for those tracks where no FLAC is available, and sadly that's quite a few... Now, usually Wim provides 320kbit AAC as their standard option which sounds pretty good, and a lot better than their 256kbit mp3. I know that there was some kind of limitiation with Squeezebox and AAC, but since I'm happily listening to BBC Radio 3 HD (320kbit AAC) right at this moment, I know that it appears to work, at least for some trypes of AAC stream. So, is there any chance to test whether setting the fallback to AAC would be an option for Wimp on ickstream? If it works at all, then it would greatly improve Wimp for all of use, and in case some legacy SB devices can't handle it, there is always the option of giving users a choice of mp3 or AAC fallback. What do you think? Re: [slim] FNG. Old Touch. Unable my music Any help appreciated.
Try connecting player to LMS (forget web UI). Touch My Music Switch Library To get back to regular usage (Touch on WiFi connected to LMS via network, not directly connected to computer) you will have to do another Factory Reset and start over. toby10's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=12553 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=103300 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
