As stated previously a single player is located at location 1, while the
other two players were 100 klm's away at location 2.
The player at location 1 was displaying the same symptoms as the two
players at location 2, as described in the first post.
The problem with player 1 resolved by
Strange, my SB3 ignores updates when set to off.
When you had the dark screen did you try the Brightness button?

Your SBS server and MySB.com server are running two different firmware

You can turn this off on an SB3 by

I suddenly have 3 x V3 Squeezebox Classic players with this problem when
trying to connect via a wired connection.
Have had the first Squeezebox Classic for 4 or 5 years approx.
Brought a second, used Squeezebox Classic around 12 months ago.
Both have worked without a problem in the same

Good summary of your problem and attempts to solve. Seems related to

Try static ip over ethernet my old SB3 works fine that way . and run 7.6

The static address should by outside the range allowed for DHCP in the

(Most router has a setting to for this.)
And you have to specify all settings during the setup .

Thank you for your responses. I can confirm all players and servers had
static ip assigned, and have since also tried dhcp where possible.
One issue is that after starting the squeezeboxes, setup logic is as

Sounds like a faulty switch to me - have you tried swapping it out?

I think your problem might be solved by moving this one closer and
using a shorter network cable. ;)

I've been having problems since 7.5.3.
I've reverted to 7.5.2 and now to 7.5.0 without success.
I've managed to get my SB3 playing music without dropping the
connection by ethernet cable. However, it seems that it no longer likes
my homeplugs, even though these are working fine for internet

+1. I don't see these issues (booms, transporter, Touch, Radio), but
then again ALL my devices, including the CONTROLLER have static IP
addresses and my server is static IP address.
Well...for me, the SB3 with a static IP has the problem; the Radio,
using DHCP, doesn't.
When in doubt, do an xilinx reset and reload the firmware. Can't hurt.
