My company is looking to hire a Director of User-Centered Design for the
Sage Global CRM business unit. The job is based in Scottsdale AZ USA.
The person in this role would be responsible for the user experience of
several global products, ranging from small-business retail products to
M2c:
I wouldn't necessarily discourage or disparage this early work.
But until these systems get much smarter, I'd continue to place my money
on well thought-out designs that incorporate faceted classification, simple
yet robuts search capabilities, and multiple navigation systems within a

Just M2c, and of course ymmv.

Great point jet. Essentially what you've described is the difference between
UI/interaction design and the design of a cross-channel, cross-modality,
over-time customer experience.
It ain't just about the pixels. Our field would be well advised to remember
this.

Of course I'll never know how the design has affected key performance metrics.
But I am assuming that Marriott wouldn't launch this design without a good
amount of A/B/multi testing, so they must have a handle on how it has impacted
KPM's.

Off the cuff I can think of a couple ways to operationalize a quick test.
But honestly, I probably wouldn't test it. There are plenty of good pagination
design patterns in the wild that wouldn't add any significant clutter.
