Is it possible to connect a smartphone, as an input source, to the
Squeezebox Touch? I was thinking that, post-mysb.com, if one could
connect an old smartphone which can play TuneIn Radio or Spotify or any
other service, then one could remotely control that phone with ones
other smartphone. Is it

I have a Touch and a Radio, and an old smartphone with a dock. Let's say
the Touch catches fire: Could I install Squeezeplay on the smartphone,
connect it to my stereo, and get it to sync with my radio and still use
the Squeezebox app to control both of them?

Depends on the OS of the smartphone.
If its Android there's 2 apps available that do playback. Squeeze Player
and SB Player.
If its iOS then iPeng has an in app purchase for playback.
All of those options will work very similarly to any other player,

SB Player I believe is 4.0+ anyway. So Squeezeplayer is the one by

I personally use Squeezeplayer on several different devices including an
old desire Z with 2.3 and it is brilliant, although I do sometimes sync
with other players it's not in a location where

could possibly be a better option, however I'm 99% sure it doesn't
Just thought I'd say that everything went great. Not a single problem.
The Desire Z in its dock almost looks like a Touch. And the sound is
more than okey. Thanks for your help...

To be honest, I can now see that it wasn't all perfect. I have a harsh
pop everytime I start, and stop, playing a song. I don't have this
with my Touch connected to a receiver. Anyone know why I get it and what
to do?
Connecting the phone directly (Tuner line-in) and using stock player
doesn't produce the pop. Switching from Aux to Tuner and using Squeeze
Player still makes it pop.

Did as you suggested. Inserted an sd-card and used stock player - pop
is still there! I also tried with an Xperia Mini Pro and there's still a
pop but a little less harsh - on the other hand it's is - with the
Xperia - a popping every second while pausing the player; it's like a

I'm sorry, but I cannot - in any way - reproduce the non-popping. I
tried to many different ways, I believe, and I know suspect that I did
something wrong when managing to get it connected and not pop. But,
with the volume on maximum and a lower amp-volume it might not be that
huge a problem.

I have a feature request: Having something like a Preset mode would be
great. A mode that could have presets (for radio channels, certain
music, pods and so on) on the player screen (next to album art, for
example), just for easy switching between (in my case) radio stations.
I've realized that
Do you have to have Spotify Premium?

Very cool new feature for Spotify users in the new beta! With the now

Yes, that was likely to be the case here as well. Unfortunately.

Any good free services like that? Or any other way to get around the

I had a couple of RS120 and got myself the RS180. It's like night and

the goods of the RS120. I'd definitely opt for the RS180.

What happens then if you play your music by Genre? Will it still even
out the volume, is there any difference from volume gain?

By mistake I clicked something like "Full site" and now I'm viewing the

I'm running Firefox on my phone.

How do I
If I try with hostname it says"cannot resolve hostname" and if I try
with ip-address it adds it to the list but it still doesn't
connect to it.

I bought myself a Huawei Honor 8 and now the only server I see is

That's interesting; with Squeezer I could connect to the server but only

Well, I guess I could live with Squeezer, at least for the moment, I'm
mainly after being able to search Spotify through LMS.

I can live with Squeezer, even though I now realise how much I like the
UI and all the options of Orange Squeeze. In six months time I'll be
buying a new phone, I guess. Hopefully then I'm back to Orange Squeeze

I suddenly got something that looks like the desktop version of the
